I try to eat more berries as they have less sugar in them then say things like melons or peaches etc.

I would like to add something to the bloodwork/supplement discussion because I read some books from scientist and doctors about it who said that bloodwork is not a safe way to find out if one is deficient or not.
Because you don’t want the nutrients hanging around in the bloodstream, they need to be absorbed by the organs.
So if you have a high level of something in the blood it could also mean the organs aren’t absorbing it.
If you have a low level it does not mean one is deficient it could mean the organs are absorbing the nutrients well.
We would have to take samples of the actual organs to know if they are lacking anything or look specifically into the cells of a body to see if that cell is deficient.
And even then: can we really trust that science that says we need this and that amount when in fact there is a huge industry behind supplements that gains money from it? Even if there are a lot of very conscious businesses out there that mean well….
If we have all been deceived from the earliest of times who will know what’s wrong or true anymore?
I do supplement with zinc and B12 now and then and sometimes iodine because I am also confused and scared to make something wrong by keeping it out.
But I learn more and more that this whole topic might be completely different then we all have learned and understood so far.🤔

Several years ago I got really sick and doctors didn’t know what was wrong and pretty much refused to help me after a while. I went raw vegan for 4 months. I cured myself but in the process lost so much weight my dad was convinced I was on drugs. I didn’t give up tho becuz I could feel that it was working. Eventually I hit a tipping point and began to gain my weight back until it naturally stopped at my own unique ideal weight. My mind was sooo clear, I had so much energy and my skin and hair was practically glowing. They, too, told him they can't do anything else for him (or in my mind, TO him). Don't know if he'll hear it, he worships "science," is vaxxed to the max, so to be honest I don't know if his body can respond to anything at this point. If he is willing and DOES want to do something different what do you think would be a good starting point without shocking his system and his ego-driven "no" response?

I feel hungry a lot of the time when I drink smoothies and eat dried fruit (essentially a kind of 'refined' carbohydrate...) I am fairly sure this is to do with insulin resistance (which does run in my family). When I eat my fruit whole and fresh my experience couldn't be more different, then I relate to hunger in the way that Eli describes, it's just not an issue...so liberating. So many people seem to experience this problem on a raw diet and often return to cooked food because of it...the advice is always just to eat more but I tried this for years (bigger smoothies, more dates) and just felt hungrier than ever. I think there must be others out there like me who simply need to cut out the juice, blended and dried fruit... loving the interview! 🙏

For the dutch people watching this: money is no excuse.
Went to the market today and bought:
    12 kilo's oranges for 10 euro,
5 kilo bananas for 5 euro,
4 kilo grapes for 6 euro
that is 21 euro for my food for a whole week. Eating approximatily 1800 cal a day. No not organic. That is why I rinse my food with salt water to remove most pesticides. Still good and healthy in comparison with excellent organic fruit en wayyyy healthier than junkfood or processed food.
Eating plantbased is very cheap. Potatoes, rice, beans are all very cheap when you buy them in bulk.

@19:42 - Gillian you say something really important. "Belief is important". I think that when we become fully fruitarian, it is only sustainable under certain conditions. Firstly the level of cleanliness already achieved - which is why for most people a transition makes more sense. (for myself i went fully raw a few times and ping-ponged back and forth and had binges, before finally managing to settle - many would give up during this period). This is because you crave what you're made of, and if you're body has a lot of toxic crap inside, especially as it begins to detox and we 're-experience' those toxins, it can be hard not to buckle. I'm finally completely raw, mostly fruit, finally. I just stuck with it. Secondly -- for those who do a lot of 'ping-pong' and food-binges, you need to address a few spiritual/mental issues. If you know it's going to be hard at first, yet you buckle anyway - then you must accept that cooked food is doing a lot to suppress certain feelings/experiences (whether important life events or day to day things we try not to face) and that in the modern world the average human is riddled with addictions. If you remove the bad foods, but don't address the parts of your personality that are not fulfilled/not aligned with your true self... you always fail, and fall back into a way of eating that incorporates either a) stimulating chemistry or b) suppressive chemistry/substances .. or both. So - simplified - when removing bad habits, good habits (and even good relationships with certain aspects of our lives or certain hobbies) need to be introduced or strengthened. If you are not fulfilled spiritually and have not developed the strength to address the aspects of your life you are neglecting, you will always crave something chemical to draw you back from the challenge of facing those aspects. Conversely.. if you go fully raw, but don't address these aspects, and yet somehow stay raw --- I believe you can experience the 'deterioration' some people worry about. Because you are not feeding the soul. Your entire being feels malnourished. And the body responds.

As a vegan of 12 years (and now fruitarian), I have a wonderful relationship with a man who consumes an omnivorous diet. Neither one of us try to push our beliefs upon each other when it comes to nutrition. We do discuss the differences in our diets, however the conversation is always coming from a place of curiosity rather than judgment. We go out to eat together and also sit and have dinner together. My interest in a fruit-based diet has encouraged him to eat more fruit each day, which he says makes him feel amazing. He is healthy, and so I am! Even though we are consuming foods at opposite ends of the spectrum, we have found what works for each of us.
I'd never push him to give up his typical diet. He's an adult and it's his choice. Furthermore, he feels good eating the way he does, and it's not my place to change that. We were influenced by different people in the health space to pursue the ways of eating that we have. I think one important thing is that we both eat whole foods. Although he does eat animal products, he does not have processed foods or junk foods. This is very important to me, as I don't think I could be in a relationship with a person who consumes TV dinners, pastries, and fast foods on the regular. Most foods in supermarkets are not foods at all, and I really appreciate that we are both mindful of what we are putting into our systems. I have met vegans that consume junk foods, and to me it looks no different than the Standard American Diet. Living in a house with junk foods in the pantry would not be appealing to me. The meat in the refrigerator is actually a lot less shocking to me than the artificial foods that most people stock their homes with.
My partner is an absolute perfect match for me energetically. He understands me very well on an emotional, physical, and spiritual level. He supports me in every facet of our life together and completes me. We have so many things in common, however diet is not one of them, except for our whole foods lifestyle.
I'd never trade my relationship for a vegan man, even if he was good-looking, nice to me, and a multi-millionaire. I dated only vegan men prior to this relationship and used to have pretty fixed opinions about dating as a vegan. All of that changed when I met the right person. I believe it's important to remain open to meeting the right energetic match - someone who sees you, gets you, and who is actually eager to express nurturing or leadership in your life.
Just because someone is vegan, does not mean they are a good fit for your values (surprising, but true), your goals in the relationship, or anything else, for that matter.

Tried fruitarian for several weeks. It's not for me. Not enough fats, not enough nutrients, and too damn hungry and miserable all the time. I'm happy being high-raw vegan. Also, I'm not sure humans are frugivores. Chimpanzees eat fruits and leaves, but occasionally kill and eat small monkeys and pigs, per the Jane Goodall website (95% vegan, 5% animal products). I'm not advocating meat eating. I think the chimps are just searching for missing nutrients and protein, and we can do this through supplementation (Dr. Gregor said something similar). Anyway, great interview. It's great to watch everyone on this journey as we struggle to find the perfect human diet, and I think we're getting close. Thanks.

Regarding the creatine question, I googled creatine in fruit, found a list, and it looks like all fruits contain some creatine. So, as Eli said, if you eat enough calories, you can't not get the amino acids you need. It's the marketing of the meat industry that convinces people that they have to get creatine from meat.

I highly recommend you brush more than 1x/day. Bacteria grows logarithmically and build biofilms that needs to be broken down mechanically like brushing. Not brushing breaking down that biofilm and not flossing is linked/associated to many systemic diseases including cardiovascular issues, certain cancers, alzheimers, infertility and the list goes on.. Let alone not to mention the direct links of not brushing 2x/day and flossing 1x/day with periodontal disease (which can cause tooth loss) and cavities.. etc.. I was just reading in dr longo’s book about protein, not just from animals but all protein. According his research “adequate” amount is .31 to .36 grams per pound of body weight, & eating higher than that as a practice isn’t good for longevity and health . Even on days I only eat fruits I hit my adequate amount!

So there is gonna be that bit of variability day to day.. last week was nothing but clementines and lemon water.. but aside from that, i think im enjoying around 2-3 types of fruit during a day, and whichever types of fruit they are, each one is a meal. So let s say,.. start of with a honeydew melon as. A meal, then a bit later a bunch of black plums. Followed later on (some hours later) by a meal of mangoes. If i dont feel like eating multiple times a day that day, then maybe it s only 2 types of fruit that day in smaller window. (Or not. Maybe i still do have 3-4 types of fruit in one Mega-meal window.. it all depends how i feel).. or just pizza all day, but whatever. Lol. Kiddiiiing kidding.

      _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
The fundamental fuel for your body is glucose, a simple sugar that provides all your cells with the energy they need to function, heal, grow, and thrive. Glucose keeps us going-and keeps us alive. The central nervous system runs on it, as does every organ in the body, including the heart. Glucose is what we use to build and sustain muscle, and it performs vital functions such as repairing damaged tissue and cells.
William, Anthony. Medical Medium (p. 91). Hay House. Kindle Edition.
      About the food, Dates:
Similar to what happens with bananas, the amino acids in dates, such as leucine, help elevate the fruit’s potassium to its highest potential in sustaining and fortifying muscles and nerves. This process also stops lactic acid from taking over the body when it’s under stress.
William, Anthony. Medical Medium Life-Changing Foods (p. 78). Hay House. Kindle Edition.
      Livers role in building muscle:
The liver plays a role in athletics like nobody’s business. If marathon runners and other athletes knew how hard the liver works, and how responsible it is for getting you to your goal-that you can have the most agile muscles in the world and yet hit a wall if your liver runs out of stored nutrients such as sugar-physical training would rise to a whole new level. The liver releases all the stored glucose it has to get you to the finish line. Know that, and you have a whole new perspective on caring for your body for optimal performance.
William, Anthony. Medical Medium Liver Rescue (p. 20). Hay House. Kindle Edition.
Without glucose, we can’t cope with any pressure or stress. We need it to maintain healthy muscles, a healthy brain, and a healthy heart. And it’s imperative for the liver’s function and its ability to support your entire body. Not that all sugars are beneficial. Sweeteners such as table sugar and high-fructose corn syrup, which aren’t attached to nutrients, aren’t doing anyone any favors-they’re a drain on health. Certain sugars, though-natural sugars from whole foods, like those found in fruits, coconut water, raw honey, sweet potatoes, and the sugars you get from digestion of good carbohydrates like squash and potatoes-are wildly beneficial.
William, Anthony. Medical Medium Liver Rescue (pp. 20-21). Hay House. Kindle Edition.
A note about the protein myth:
We think of protein building muscle when the reality is that we build muscles by using them and then fueling them with quality carbohydrates and sugars-and by our livers keeping our blood clean so that the carbohydrates and sugars aren’t mixed with the toxins and other troublemakers of dirty blood, and our muscles receive them in their purest form.
William, Anthony. Medical Medium Liver Rescue (p. 110). Hay House. Kindle Edition.
Here is a note about Celery juice and exercise fatigue:
Exercise fatigue is another type that celery juice can address. This is the result of someone overusing muscles and exhausting the nervous system, from whatever type of exercise that may be. Runners and other athletes can identify this feeling as “hitting a wall.” Some non-athletes who haven’t built up their strength and endurance may experience exercise fatigue after working out on a basic level for 10 minutes. Either way, celery juice is a miracle worker, reviving muscles better than anything else can. It also helps support nerves inside the muscles, feeding both the nerves and muscles with its cluster salts. Muscle cells receive these cluster salts like a baby receives mother’s milk, and the cluster salts help rid the muscles of lactic acid and toxins that have built up in them from everyday exposure. Bringing celery juice into your routine can allow for faster recovery and rebound time.

Here is info about how muscles are truly built:
People often find themselves having trouble building muscle while keeping their bodies lean on a high-protein diet. This can be confusing, since so much messaging out there says that focusing on protein and eliminating or minimizing carbs is a secret to building muscle and getting fit. Somewhere along the way, the fitness community realized-though they won’t admit it-that protein alone wasn’t enough to build and sustain the lean muscle most desired. As a result, it’s become a trend to engage in “bulking and cutting.” That is, going through cycles of bringing excess calories (more than they burn or utilize) with a blend of protein, carbs, and fat (emphasis on protein) to gain body mass from their workouts and then, once they’ve gained what seems to be more muscle-yet in many cases is just a layer of swelling and toxic fat in and around the muscle-cutting back on calories with the goal of keeping the muscle and losing the fat they gained because they fear “fattening up.” This keeps people in a vicious cycle. It’s a big mistake in health right now. The goal should be the opposite: to not constantly have to minimize and maximize your calories to increase muscle mass. The gaining and losing weight strategy puts tremendous stress upon the body, especially the liver, and a weakened, stagnant, sluggish liver loses its ability to convert and store nutrients, which leads to nutrient deficiencies and accelerated aging later in life. This additional stress on the body can eventually show itself as cardiovascular issues, cholesterol imbalances, prediabetes, type 2 diabetes, unwanted weight gain, muscle tears, cartilage and joint wear and tear, kidney weakness, a weakened immune system, and more. If you end up with a whole different health issue down the line that’s diagnosed as autoimmune, it can take a greater toll on your body because of the previous years of bulking and cutting.
The bulking theory is about increasing calories daily to create an abundance of fuel so someone can easily build larger amounts of muscle in a shorter period of time-all the while believing that the extra protein they’re eating is building their muscles and that some of the carbs they’re eating are getting stored as fat. Here’s what’s really happening: the extra carbs they’re eating are what’s actually building more muscle as they train hard. Meanwhile, the extra fat they’re adding to what they don’t realize is their already high-fat diet (they likely think it’s only high in protein) creates an overload on the liver and causes the increased fat storage on the body.
William, Anthony. Medical Medium Cleanse to Heal (pp. 101-102). Hay House. Kindle Edition.
So According to AW and MM info, Glucose in fruit and carb rich food like potatoes, sweet potatoes, and squash are key foods in building muscle:
The way to safely and more efficiently build muscle is to provide the proper levels of glucose to muscle cells along with ample trace mineral salts to help insulin attach itself easily to the glucose and drive it into muscle tissue for muscles to sustain themselves without atrophy when you’re not working out and to grow when you can exercise. Lean muscle growth without fat gain cancels out the need to cut calories and engage in the cutting part of the bulking theory. Lowering fat is a critical part of building lean muscle.
William, Anthony. Medical Medium Cleanse to Heal (p. 102). Hay House. Kindle Edition.
Note about people tripping you up if you are trying to cleanse and worried about losing muscle:
People sometimes fear they’ll lose muscle on a cleanse. Flipping through these cleanses and seeing that they don’t include bulking, cutting, or counting macros may reinforce this fear. Worried they won’t come out of a Medical Medium cleanse looking the way they want, they may think, He doesn’t know what he’s talking about. That’s the old protein monster brainwashing darkness that came out of the 1930s, and it’s going to trip people up from getting the help they need from this book-if they go into it uninformed. Don’t let that be you.
William, Anthony. Medical Medium Cleanse to Heal (p. 103). Hay House. Kindle Edition.
      Bananas:
You need ample amounts of glucose to function, keep muscles strong, replenish cells, and heal. Bananas are a perfect food when you’re chronically ill to prevent muscle atrophy from not being capable of exercising to the degree that people normally can.
William, Anthony. Medical Medium Cleanse to Heal (p. 197). Hay House. Kindle Edition.
So, What we can learn from what the books say is that Critical, Clean, Carbohydrates full of nutrient dense glucose is the answer to building muscle and fast. This means eating as many bananas, potatoes, sweet potatoes, squash, and other fruit that your body can possibly handle. It is what your muscles need to gain strength and the fastest. It is absolutely ok if you want to have a lean animal protein once a day as well. But the main tools for building muscle is whats stated above. We know now that protein is not the answer when wanting muscle gains, like previously thought, and still thought by most of the world. The muscles run on glucose and we shouldn't forget this.
So to get the most out of your workouts, you could do something like a huge banana and wild blueberry smoothie, than afterword, have another bunch of bananas and mango in smoothie form or not, that doesnt really matter. Adding in dates can really help with muscle gains as well. Dinners should be mainly meals of lots of squash, steamed sweet potatoes and regular potatoes. Again, adding a small serving of animal protein if you wish, though not required. And we now know the problem if we focus too much on protein from the books and the truth behind whats building the muscle.
      Happy Muscle Building

I would like to add that eating some superfoods while transitiioning to all raw is a good idea. Particularly a seaweed such as Irish Moss, I am not talking about supplements at all. Seaweeds a good idea and herbs that are NOT pharmaceutically played with but from nature, such as Slippery Elm for the Tummy problems, Burdock and Milk Thistle to cleanse the system while transitioning. If sleep is an issue try Valerian, it is non addictive, calming and if taken in a higher dose enables a deep sleep for healing to take place

Very good interview lots of good info for new starters and vets alike...some veagans and fruitarians look older and withered because they are not eating drinking properly...
alcohol for example ages a person
another example veagan deepfried foods are not healthy
yet another example, eating no fresh produce and only packet/frozen pre prepared vegetarian dishes is not healthy
or not eating a full variety of fruit n veg is also lacking in glowing fuel
    eating at the wrong times
or eating foods that make intolerences doesn't help either...
the list is loooong and longer as to why some non animal consuming people look like a sick flower.

I think maybe some of the rapid aging in fruitarians is too much sun exposure. They often live in hot climates and spend a lot of time in the sun. I'm not saying the sun is unhealthy but over exposure definitely damages the skin.

I hear alot of anecdotes from carnivores who says they do not get sunburnt anymore.
I believe in a diet free from toxins and irritants which are abundant in plant foods. I believe humans should eat easily obtainable (for a stone age man) palatable foods. Like fruit and meat. If you know what post-steak satisfaction feels like you will not question that meat is appropriate food for humans.

Chronometer shows 6 large Canteloupe is 54.7 grams of protein (with all essential amino acids) and also 3 grams of Omega 3's (187% RDA) for only 2,214 calories. Look it up in chronometer yourself. The athletes can have another half melon or couple of pieces of fruit to easily meet 60 grams protein if really think they need that and still stay under 2600 calories 🤣. You're just not gonna get 60g protein if all you eat is grapes all day long you have to have other fruits mix it up. The low protein content of the grapes is part of why that fast is so cleansing and healing. Autophagy baby. There is also the colors of prana or vital energy in the different fruits but I'm not going to teach that here in a comment. And yes I did 40 days on grapes only and on day 21 I added fresh lemon or lime juice to keep the bowels moving. Great experience 👍

Hi!! So you are 2 of my favorite people!! But I learned at one point that cooked protein is not all usable because it has been coagulated and unable to be broken down. Kind of like a raw egg vs a cooked egg. I did take A&P in college where I learned that protein has to be broken down into individual amino acids before it can be used by the body? Any thoughts? Its been many years since college! (1982)

what a great interview.. I even took notes...
we need to understand protein.. see, protein is like the suitcase,
inside the suitcase you have the 8 essential amino acids..
the protein suitcase needs hydrochloric acid in the stomach to pull apart the bag to retrieve the 8 essential amino acids..
these are in every plant because its their structure.. protein carb and fat are in every leaf, stem, fruit..
too much protein causes the nitrate and this is acid.. this harms kidneys too..
remember tho, protein is not for energy, its for the building blocks in the DNA .
the DNA is the memory of cell creation.. for every organ, skin, tissue.
people need to stop thinking they need more protein.. also the RDA is for the 24 hour period, its not 30+ grams every meal..

As far as protein, it depends on your goals. You won't find any bodybuilders or strongmen who can maintain their mass at 60g of protein. However, 4000 calories of oranges is 61g of protein, melons around 50g, kiwifruit closer to 70g.
