  • In this video I am forging a Viking age frying pan based off of the one found at the Osberg burial ship site. Frying pans, such as this one, were used during the viking age to prepare foods over open fire and cook the thier daily meals. I have had this very special project on my mind for some time now and have finally had the opportunity to complete it.

Funny, but I'd like to be that woman singing in the background music!!! I think what you are doing is like a woman being inspired to give and be her best...if that makes sense. Amazed the things that can be created in the fire, in a man and woman's heart...the beauty of love. Hope you have found that. I know we all yearn for it. Faithfulness, life, endurance, commitment. Watching these videos reminds me there is so much more that life is ready to burst forth and give of itself continually.
You are making tools that are lifetime tools that can build a family, a community, a state (?), a nation. We've lost our path as a nation it feels. But some, like you and I, have found the path again. Hope to see you someday, brother, on the path! The shear appreciation for what "one' has created is a forever gift left behind in the hearts of many.

Ya know, on a lot of videos u never show your ended creation being used.. Did u ever make a sheaf for this knife? And what did you do with it? Have you made many in your life? I'd just LOVE to see a sword made. Have you made one of them? These videos are wonderful. Wondering how your hands and arms and shoulders do after doing this kind of work alot. Where did you learn this, a family member, what inspired you in this walk or path of life, what drives you to do these makings, creatings? Lol.

Thank you for your interest. Mostly the items I make here are gifts for special friends. Some items I put in my Viking camping re-enactment gear. I don't film when I am at events usually so that's why most of my items I have included in my gear are not seen. I started out making knives when I was about 16. I loved forging and just started reading books, going to classes and watching videos. That is how I ended up doing you-tube and loving the outdoors and my interest in the viking age is based on my fascination for metal items of the past. And yes arms an hands hurt often, but no pain no gain as they say.. ;) stay safe, see you soon!!!

@@BerserkerGang2019 I milk a lot of goats. and have had to rub the muscles to relieve tightened muscles. Also developed a foot problem grazing the herd all over the countryside...no fences. Still trying to heal. I found a round, smooth polished heavy marble coaster works so good. Fits right in your hand perfectly. It's heavy enough you don't have to use much force to push on the muscles. It's saved me. It important to push the blood out and get new oxygenated blood in for major healing to take place.
