Yet another song I loved and would never have found if not for this channel! Cool stuff. I liked your comment regarding the "human effort" put into the drum work; you certainly can hear the effort and I do think it adds a lot. Sprain's recent album has some similarly frantic percussion, mixed with other noise to create some really amazing soundscapes
Like a mix of prog sludge like Mastodon and classic psych/space rock with it's more extensive atmosphere building and experimentation. Also, hints of Gojira in some shouted singing and detail work. Really good stuff and I want more!
The lyrics are actually quite interesting: We've seen the monuments of Gods Rising from the dust to the sky We've heard the thunder and seen the lightning Heralding a storm from the depths of time We felt the wind and the rain on our skin Our faces lifted to the clouds We were thousands, we were one Now the human age is gone The engines fire burning like million suns Fury as a flame in the eyes of daughters and sons And from the torn sky are falling angels Hell-fire engines And from the torn sky are falling angels [Instrumental Break] [Chorus] Fury as a flame Shining in their eyes For now and forever They will wander in space among the stars Until they become a long forgotten tale Fury as a flame Shining in their eyes For now and forever They will wander in space among the stars Until they become a long forgotten tale Fury as a flame For now and forever Fury as a flame
Yeah, there is a slight resemblance to VHK, but it's missing Attila's madness/genius... and the overall sound (especially vocals) reminds me more of early Killing Joke.
Really dug this. Like a proggy/psych version of sludge/stoner rock/metal. Really enjoyed the overall atmosphere. A couple of the jam-band parts overstay their welcome a bit, but that's a minor criticism.
That was dope. Never knew these guys had a brand new song
This is the title track of their new album being released on Jan 19th. I'm really looking forward to it.
@@BayouMaccabee thank you

They said it was mainly influenced by King Crimson's "Red" album
My favorite album right now. Been listening everyday since it came out. Total Masterpiece!

The lyrics are actually quite interesting:
We've seen the monuments of Gods
Rising from the dust to the sky
We've heard the thunder and seen the lightning
Heralding a storm from the depths of time
We felt the wind and the rain on our skin
Our faces lifted to the clouds
We were thousands, we were one
Now the human age is gone
The engines fire burning like million suns
Fury as a flame in the eyes of daughters and sons
And from the torn sky are falling angels
Hell-fire engines
And from the torn sky are falling angels
[Instrumental Break]
[Chorus]
Fury as a flame
Shining in their eyes
For now and forever
They will wander in space among the stars
Until they become a long forgotten tale
Fury as a flame
Shining in their eyes
For now and forever
They will wander in space among the stars
Until they become a long forgotten tale
Fury as a flame
For now and forever
Fury as a flame
Seen them live a couple weeks ago, if you like them on album, you MUST see them live. They are just fantastic.
If you listen to the full album all the way through, some of the stuff right at the beginning are clips/lyrics from other songs on the album.
Their KEXP live is just glorious, have you checked it?
I don't think so but it sounds like something I should!
whole albums is out, killer stuff
check out their "levitation session" set on youtube, one of the best most powerful performances you'll see
Nice! It reminds me the late 80s and early 90s albums of Vágtázó Halottkémek, a shaman hungarian band

great band...you must catch them live.
Like a kraut-y Killing Joke? Didn't see the "8-bit guitar" break at 3:35 coming tho
When I saw this song live in 22 in Bristol it blew me away and from 9:30 on Killing Joke was absolutely top of mind!
Have you seen their live performance of this on KEXP? It's incredible
I haven't. It's that good?
@@CriticalReactions It's better than the studio version, imo

Perhaps they are called 5Lift?
Both of those words feel fake
To me they're right on the cuff between totally made up and possibly an actual word in a niche area of knowledge 😄
