Prisoner Cell Block H was my guilty pleasure and I watched it every time it was on (ITV at 1140 if i remember rightly). This particular episode was broadcast in Northern Ireland in December 1994. Episodes 326 and 327 were screened back to back from 10:40pm on the Ulster ITV network.
Can't believe the fire was over so quickly! (in a few scenes?). I seem to remember it going on forever when I watched it on TV all those years ago. But maybe that was just my excitement with the build up to it. Loved Chrissie at this point, her character really started to grow on me during these episodes.
Are you not thinking about the fire that Marie Winter started in the 500 episodes? She was a nasty b**h and threatened other prisoners about their kids on the outside and how she could get someone to arrange an accident to them.
I never actually thought of it like that, you're right. Bloody hell, imagine what they could've done with that! I think one of the users said on here once that they tried to get Fiona Spence back after the fire at Barnhurst in the early 500s but she declined. Whether that's true though I'm not sure, but I would've loved it, even if it was a cameo.
PrisonerCellBlockH95 Don't say that! Too many of Joan's followers will kill you :) These people are chronic about her. I can imagine what type of people they must be to identify with her so well ;)
What makes you think they could have gotten Fiona Spence back? She quit the show over a year ago when they did this because she was tired of the role. Don't blame her. Only so many times she can all the women animals before it gets boring.
MelishMud Dito regarding Joan. Fiona Spence was asked to appear again but refused..What people forget, is that in theatre, and the world of TV, anything can be done, so long as it is believable, except of course in fantasy shows.
I don't understand why paddy told the firemen Joan was still in there, they wanted rid of her. The prisoners will pay for this when the freak is back on her feet, especially Bea!! The freak will be freakier than ever lol.
after a while fire can get so hot flash over happens and thats what can set off other items to go on fire from a small distance, so anything that wasn't brick or metal probably went up, ie paint.
The heat gives rise to gasses from the interior and furniture. As that gas rises, the intense heat causes the gas to ignite. It's extremely fast and a room can become an inferno within one minute. I've watched a fire safety video on it and it's unbelievable how fast it happens until you have seen it.
Paddy is a top girl and a sweetheart. She shouldn't be in prison. The way she demanded that Ferguson carry Bea or they weren't going anywhere. AND then on the roof when she sent the Fireys back in to rescue The Freak! She could have easily ignored that, but didn't! Top class!
This would have been the perfect ending to The Reign of Fergie The Freak but damn if I didn't damn near choke myself from laughing SO hard when she was knocked off that ladder!!! Cracking episode!!! Bea - badass to the end... She'd burn & take Freaky Fergie with her!!!
Why didn't Bea check to make sure if 'The Freak' was dead or not? It was obvious to me that 'The Freak' was playing possum. Bea missed out on a good opportunity to get rid of Joan for good.
@Ged Woods haha, no way! Chrissie would never be able to do that to me, I'd be too willing lol. I have an ex-girlfriend (who is still a very good friend) who reminds me of her - voice, looks, everything!

The great Wentworth fire .Good episode. someone said this was a cliffhanger when the show was first aired .what a way to end the season. I liked Mouse as a lot of people did. I thought she added into the mix. I don't know why they wrote her character out. does anybody know ? Did jentah sobott want to leave the show ?they should have kept Mouse. Great scene with Joan and Bea. Good for Erica willing to risk it all. Unfortunately Margo's in for it .You can see that story line coming. Got to love that line though from Margo : "one for me face one for me bum, got to be hygienic you know".
Apparently Jentah didn't want to leave the show, she wanted them to develop her character more and even had some ideas herself for Mouse plots - they just didn't agree and wrote her out. I thought it was a real shame, Mouse really filled a niche and there was loads more they could have done with her.
@@jtpinnyc thanks for the reply and the info .I put that post up about a year-and-a-half ago on my first go-round. it's my third now ,but UA-cam is dropping a lot of the episodes left and right .so I'm left with Selective viewing .I still feel the same way .mouse was a great character .all the great characters came before the Wentworth fire. For me the big change came only a few episodes later when they took Margo out and said :we'll put you someplace where you can't be near lighter fluid and matches . Two really great iconic characters gone within a few episodes of each other. Margo came back later on for a few more episodes which was stupid .I don't know why they brought Jane Clifton back for no good reason. And her character was a lot meaner and crueler than now.
Seriously? The fireman looked down the shaft, went half way down the ladder to get Bea, but by some miracle he did not see Joan and had to be told that she was down there. Seriously??

Fireman: "30x50M 3 story building"? LOL!
wasn't Bea in the next bed to the Freak..she would've heard everything!
Funny if the cable snaped ............ goodbye Freak lol
Prisoner at it's most dramatic best and with a tragic outcome. I do love Mouse and she was missed by me and Barbera was a joy to look at.
What a fire hey! Poor mouse and fields!!
Carlene Boulden Great episode sad about the burnt crumpet 😔
Joan getting lifted from fire engine makes her look like mummy lol
and the freek is gonna live this charmed life to the final episode
OHH, NO...PLEASE SAY IT AIN't so...!!
Why am I picturing Mouse's hair on fire?
Because it was.
This has better picture quality than the newer upload on the link has
R.I.P. Mouse
Seriously? The fireman looked down the shaft, went half way down the ladder to get Bea, but by some miracle he did not see Joan and had to be told that she was down there. Seriously??
Bea herself and the smoke must've obscured his vision?
Me too miss the 80s so much
You and me both !
How many people can fit in that van. The prisoners keep stepping off.
Fergo does soften greatly though as the years go by.... she almost becomes loveable!!
Best esposide ever rip mouse and Barby.
thank you for posting vid
The Prisoner extras at 5:10 laughing for some reason.
At least mouse will only need a tiny coffin 😂😂😂
