When you said "Everything I've done so far, I've taught myself" it resonated with me. I continually prevent myself from just learning and having fun with it all with the excuse of 'I'm not good enough' but to see that thrill of learning turn into such an amazing showcase of passions really drives it home that I could possibly reach my own goals.
There actually are kits, the lego mindstorm kit allows you to code and run a couple motors with pulleys and sensors etc.
This one is the new kits from Lego called Spike Prime, came out a couple years ago now.
I work for a company that does Lego education, so we have loads of the kits. Though I got in trouble from my boss when he saw this haha 😅
@@EthanDavd My son and I have enjoyed many many hours of robotic fun stuffs from lego. My two complaints. They cost way too freaking much for what they are, and what is up with the lack of rechargeability?! Both the kits we got, the Lego Boost and Lego Mindstorm uses just AA batteries or AAA...and they don't function well with rechargeable.
It is really the main reason we have move onto actual microcontrollers like Ardiuno and ESP32. Stuff is amazing.
@@Kai-Made They are pretty expensive alright, I've never had problems with the rechargeable battery packs though..
Arduinos are way cheaper and you can do way more. But then all Lego is expensive and it is easier/quicker to make things with, so it has it's advantages.
What I've done a few times is 3D print servo adaptors to fit with Lego bricks so I can use Arduinos with standard Lego. Works pretty well. I've got a drawing robot video on my channel I made this way.

also, do you suppose you would throw up a vid with the STL files for these adapters? Assuming you are using the el cheapo blue servo motors? Or maybe you already did?
My son and I have a printer, and we have printed a ton of stuff for both work and play but I never thought to print adapters for the legos he has.
This may be a "duh" moment for me, but I think I am thinking of some fun projects...

For the lego thing, its known as mindstorms if you were wondering, It includes a brick(The brain where everthing plugs into) motors, and sensors which along with the programming application can be used to create all sorts of things.
This one is called Spike Prime, it's a newer kit it's pretty good, but has some limitations.

@@listxnin4978 Yeah spike prime is like the educational set. My work got a load of them so thats why I used it in the video.
(I actually got in a bit of trouble for it and was told I have to cut/blur parts out of the vid hahaha)
But there is a mindstorms kit which is basically the same, but the bricks are different colours lol..

Basically strap on pocket
To briefly explain, with some of my knowledge working with similar face-tracking systems, this one waits for the person (the 'face') to be detected and then it moves the gun until the red square (the face) moves exactly into the white square. It then triggers the movement of the trigger, and the person's face is hit. This ensures a perfect bullseye (unless the person moves when the bullet has been fired 😆).
There are lego motors. Many many of them! Including sensors, remote control boxes (that hook into motors) and even more. You should try making a lego train.
I gotta take a dive into them and check it out!

Pringle elevator bottom: think "whip sword" from games, rigid sections drawn together with a pull cord that cinches up at a perpendicular angle beneath the chips but can slide down the side from the top without removing the chip stack. I need to get back into creating .STLs for weird stuff like this.
I am so jealous of your ability to make these different inventions and I really want to be able to make these different things myself, but it's so expensive to get a 3d printer. : (
Just buy one and print yourself a new 3D printer, and then return the one you just bought (or resell it). Presto!

Check if there's a hackerspace near where you live. Public libraries have 3d printers too sometimes.

You should make a lamp with a clock in it that turns on when your alarm goes off

There is such thing as a can shaker. They use them to mix paint cans. Could always make a mini version for pop cans.

there is actually lego kits with easily programmable parts and stuff, there are even lego robotics competitions but i've recently become to old to participate in them.

Look up Lego Mindstorm.... Its basically Lego's integrated with electronics that you can program... Kinda like a raspberry pi for kids. We messed around with a set in one of my first college classes.
One change I would make to the fishing rod coozie is to have a metal disk or something heavy at the bottom as well as haveing a swivel so it sorta acts like a gyroscope and It won't spill as easily.
Do it like a decending retractable discoball. But a squaty potty that automaticcally come out of the ground whenever someone starts to use washroom

If you were going to build the fishing rod cup holder you could have it suspended on bearings and if you put a weight in the bottom it would hold itself upright then I don't think it would help with casting tho

I like the fishing rod drink holder but you could make it better by making the holder clamp to the fishing rod and the holder swivels
