Feker Libi is like Shakira's Waka Waka (This Time For Africa) a song that everyone from around the world loves. This is the type of song Eurovision needs.
I actually don't like when everyone think it's "just like waka waka" not all african vibe songs are the same, and as Israeli who grow up with etiopian jews and knows thier type of music, for me it sounds vary diffrent, it sounds much more traditional than "waka waka" (though don't get me wrong, I love waka waka and shakira, the songs are both beatiful but DIFFRENT) it sounds like a traditional Etiopian jew's song, especially beacuse they chose "feker libi" as the title, a phrase that I heard many etiopian jews use to their loved ones, it holds a lot of meaning.
imo, the so unique Ethopian "Eskista" part in the end is the real nuclear bomb of this song. it makes the difference between a good song to a very good song for the eurovision
The name of the song is "The love of my heart" - "Feker Libi" (in Amharic); "Ahoov Libi" (in Hebrew); "Habib Albi" (in Arabic). In the end Eden sings "Eskesta!!!" which means "shoulder dance". It's an Ethiopian traditional dance.
2:54 the bit she is like shoutin out (is like a call for a dance) she says Eskistaaaa. There they included a typical ethiopian traditional beat and shoulder dance (called Eskista) ..maybe a tribute to her roots.
@3:50@ "where does Israel find this preformence?" well, in all honesty we love it when the songs represents the singer and tell THEIR story, for Netta and Toy it was the story of an overwight girl that faced a lot of heartbreak and came to get back at all "the stupied boys" that hurted her, for Kobi Marimi it is the story of a kid who loves Opra and singing and was bullied cuse his taste in music is diffrent and many told him it's not "what they look for" cuse pop singers are much more loved (which is why he sings "I am someone" after so many times he was rejected) and Eden is an Etiopian jew who tells the story of the first Etiopian jew that finally represents Israel, the country she loves in Eurovision, she tells the story of her culture and community as well as giving us some hebrow oriantel vibes to remaind us that she proud and love her country, and she's happy to represent it as the first Etiopian jew in Eurovision history 😁 you might say we create the singer story, not just their songs.
