Not even exaggerating these studio time vids are what got me into producing, super glad there’s a new installment !!
But man where is season 1 of these studio time tutorials? I can't find it!
no way Zeuzmakesmusic is here bro my friend and I used to listen to your stuff religiously back in quarantine
@@jannovak6987 Superr old like 6years ago videos + he has some live strams from 2015 and 2019 on the youtube

As an average musician that doesn’t stand out in anyway, I approve this message
As another average musician who can't even afford the full version of Ableton I concur.
OMG you are the "cool uncle that makes music" in your family!
And you are that Mo Falk or Ghosthack stream guy I forgot which producer XD.
Haven't watched the whole vid yet so maybe you figured this out, but the keyboard at the top of the Pitchmap GUI has two white lines you can drag to the left or right. This is essentially a bypass for all the darkened keys, but also has a mute feature to the right that will mute the tonal part of those notes instead of bypassing the effect. If you pull the right line to the left, it will leave the high end unaffected by Pitchmap, which is similar to parallel processing the high end. Also, since Pitchmap separates the tonal aspect of the input from the atonal, you can swap the positions of the white lines and click mute to mute all tonal aspects of a sound if that's what you want. I think the Pitchmap manual is much shorter than the morph manual, and it has a lot of information that can help you use Pitchmap in other ways outside of colorizing sound.
Omg thank you so much for this information! I tried it out right away and it’s so helpful 💜
As a doctor in the science of Colour Bass, I approve of this episode Mr. Riot.
The fact this exists is beautiful
as a color/colour bass newb, i approve this episode 🔥
OMG @ 51:18... I listened to this jam maybe 20 times, the chords are sooo good, and that variation at the end, you should make it into a full song!!
Your studio time videos are one of my big inspirations for making music. I'm so excited to see all the new producers who will get inspired by this new series! More power to you VR ♥️
pls pls pls pls make an episode about OTT and/or compression
I cannot believe studio time is back 😭 this shit is what made me start producing in 2014
Hey, Pitchmap tip: On the keys overview below the "Pitchmap" logo, on the left and right sides there's a white line. You can use that to "high-pass" or "low-pass" the ranges of keys. Learned so much from this video that I didn't know. Thanks for making it!
As an associate of the neighbouring genre of Colour House, I approve this episode
First Skrillex's new album and now this, safe to say this year is going to be amazing.

Wait ,,Payback" like Skrillex with Virtual Riot.
It can't be understated how much I look forward to anything music related you put out. I'm a full grown man and geekin, it's embarrassing.
Heeeeey, that’s what we need, looong studio time videos.
Love these!
this is top tier, seriously… you are my idol and my favorite producer of all time, and now I can LEARN WITH YOU, watch you make sound by sound and understand what passes by your mind!
And even get your own project files, bro, this is like… I dont even have words for that. Just, thanks.
hope you all are having a good day. Loving this new chapter of my life.
Hey Virtual RIot! Idk if you'll see this but I just want to thank you for producing such amazing music. your sound design is out of this world! I was always on the fence when it came to my career choice but after i discovered you around the time when you released your Save Yourself Ep, I fell in love with Dubstep again. so much so that I've designed to take a big leap and pursue a career in music. I'll be attending college this year and your Studio Time serie couldn't come at a better time!
idk why but the rezonator on drums just absolutely blew my mind on how cool it sounded.
that pitchmap and glide note thing is fricken awesome, sounds like a future organ
Video or audio, virtual riot is always dropping a banger.
As a fellow knight of the colourly basses and also doing tutorials in this weird german accent, i approve this episode
Absolutely cannot believe you got to meet the boys from Shikari, truly the kindest guys. So good to see you back to the studio times, literally missed you so much
Thank you so much for these videos bro. I’ve been producing for 15 years but had fallen out of it due to pretty extreme life events over the last 3 years. Your videos and sound design inspired me to get back in the DAW and start making tracks again. Keep doing what you’re doing bro!
So sick! We need more of these! Experimenting but with the technical thought and workflow process described! Love it!
YYYAYYY thank you Val for making all of our days. Definitely didn't expect a video this early in the year, but I am super grateful
I love your intro Val! so happy to be learning from you. Hope you’re doing well we all love you and love to see you happy. Happy New Years ❤

Man you have no idea how much i missed these. I feel 22 again, like i'm starting out my producer journey all over again and you're feeding me all sorts of incredible knowledge! ^_^
great to see some of your process! THANKS FOR THE UPLOADS!
LETS GOOO studio time is back ! you love to see it
Great video man! Kinda inspiring me to be a teenager again and open FL studio and start making some beats lol. Random note too on those morph algorithms! The LL stands for Low Lantency. Its basically if you want to use the plugin in a live setting and have musicians who need to hear without to many milliseconds of delay. As a pianist and live sound engineer these LL plugin variations come in handy. Not really applicable in producing I suppose because you can always just bounce audio to save CPU or Latency.
Oh you’re right I totally missed that! I guess Sometimes it helps to read the manual haha, the ones of Zynaptique plugins are usually kinda funny, too, like the “Bypass” Button is explained with “performs a highly complex and sophisticated function best described as bypassing the plug-in” lol
@@VirtualRiot 😂 it’s a mixing engineer motto, after scratching your head for hours of course, “read the manual” loool musicians and creatives we’re so used to learning DIY and by doing that we sometimes forget there’s a easier but less fun, tedious ways to figure it out
I study electric engineering and just learning about convolution and analogue/digital filters (in class). I cannot tell you how hyped and motivated these types of videos and color bass keep me. Sound design just keeps getting more crazy the more you learn about it.
Thank you so much for sharing all this Val! ❤😊
As a consumer and customer of colour bass, I approve this episode.
Glad you are back my man

This is an incredible video, I've watched so many color Bass tutorials and this is encapsulates most of the knowledge you need. I wish someone would do this exact thing for Tearout Dubstep similar to Kai Wachi's style
Im just using this as a podcast basically. So soothing hearing VR talk and showing if sounds and plugins and what they do
