Saw them all the time in Chico way back, some of the best memories I had with my brother. RIP brother.
Have been listening to Floater since i was a small kid. Saw them live back in the mid/late 2000's. As underrated as a band can get. Glyph and Angels/Devils are masterpieces.
Just randomly found Floater today, I was 20 in 1995, how have I never heard of them before? So fucking good.
Rocked me at the Brick Works in Chico Ca In the 90's.. Great musical experience!!!! Haven't lost their touch
One of the 🏆Great Underrateds🏆
Been listening to floater my whole life, I'm almost 17 and still listening to em haha
I grew up with this band, and they are still one of my favorites, to this day. I first saw them in a little club in Newport, Oregon, circa '93/'94. The club was called Cape Fear, I think. They were amazing then, and even moreso, now. It is absolutely criminal that their music isn't more widely known, and used in films and television, and such. I'm going to keep doing my part to spread the good word, of course! ❤️🤘
Sadly the last time I heard my favorite song live.. I need a Floater show soon.
Just discovered these guys. Good band.
These guys have great chemistry on stage....best live show I've ever seen. Would love to see them again. Hats off gents that was beautiful
I went to an all acoustic Floater show it was amazing best three man band since The Police!
Portland Oregon is were I first saw this amazing band make magic ya ya
12/30/23 See you there. Animals was amazing.
They go from sounding like Sting to Floyd to Floater and back again and again love it
That snare is sick af!!
Thank you so much for the years of excellence and vibes.
I live in Michigan, and I will see this band live...eventually; just need to get out to Oregon.
We'd love to have you! One time, at a show in Spokane, Washington, Rob said something very profound, right before they went into a song. He said, "People who never go to the ocean, have a gaping hole right through them, and they don't even know it."
It was such an Oregonian thing to say. Come visit, and you'll know what he means. (If you're going to come all this way, you may as well also plan for one day on the coast, as Portland is only about two hours from the coast, and Portland has been the home of Floater for a few years now, so that's where you're most likely to catch them, I would imagine.) Cheers! 🥂
Thank you for recording or at least posting this. Forever my favorite song in the world. Have to been nearly every Portland Floater show since 98’ this was a special one.
New to this band, they sound like The Police, I like them.
When they were putting their band together, the drummer responded to an ad in the paper that was looking for a drummer who wanted to play for a band that sounded "somewhat like Pink Floyd." They definitely have prog-rock written all over their catalog, and that is why I will continue to tell every person I know about Floater, until I die. They are the real deal. Devoted to the craft, and humble servants to the art of song.
I was at this show. A great band, a great venue, and an awesome crowd!! 😎✌🤘
THAT was amazing! Kinda bummed i missed it, but have the video to watch over and over again a million times lol
Amazing! Can not wait for live shows again! Chico is waiting patiently!
I totally agree! Moving soon and hoping we'll be able see them before we move.
Wish they were still living Eugene. However they are have a New Years Concert in Eugene can't wait.. Its going to be a Blast
Wooohooo thank you!
Excited for summer 2019 )
I would give anything if they would come down south!!!!!!. I love floater with all my heart!
So, been a while since I was around the PDX. Why didn't they do the mega hello radio? Good music, good following?
80s vibe
Floater Danny boy
Dang this is a rough sound for them. Robs voice is barely hangin on
I agree. I've seen them at least 10x's and I've never heard Rob sound like this :(
@@208SledHead that happens over time he needs to let his voice rest a little haha.. getting older and whatnot..
What kind of brilliant video editor decided to show the drummer instead of the guitarist for the entire guitar solo?
Edit: After rewatching the entire video, the editing is strange on this video. Great overall due to the content, but it'd be interesting to see another cut of this. Maybe I'm just a hater 🤷🏻♂️
Jason Rorex the kind that has a volunteer crew and doesn’t always have that shot. What kind of person trolls music videos looking for reasons to criticize the hard work of people doing this on their own time?
@@Pdxspotlight
First off, you end your reply implying I knew it was a volunteer doing the edit. How would I know that? I wouldn't have known, and I did not know it was a volunteer, so thanks for enlightening me.
Secondly, you can be defensive if you'd like, and I admit editing video is subjective. There will be someone who likes an edit, and someone else who doesn't. In this specific instance it would be 99.999999% of the world enjoying an edit showing rhe guitarist during the solo, and 0.000001% enjoying the current version. That 0.000001% is your volunteer editor. I would include you in that, but secretly you know the critique is legitimate.
Also, I agree, there won't always be the footage available an editor wants for their cut. This edit had a few quick cuts to David (guitarist) during/around the solo, but besides that I don't have anything showing you're wrong. Who knows, maybe you're right, and they didn't have the footage. The production crew members being volunteers as well is a legitimate counter reason to my original comment. Seems like the kinda thing you'd be told/learn on your first day of shooting tho. Aim camera at the solo lol.
Lastly, I didn't mean to trigger you, and wasn't trying to "troll." I was just a stoned Floater fan happily watching your content. I sincerely apologize. After reading my orginal comment I see how I could've toned it down a little, and still conveyed my point. To answer your question about what kinda person.... The kinda person who has a few months of no work. Which allows that person to fight/recover from Guillain-Barre Syndrome. No sympathy needed, just answering. Lest we think I'm just some asshole who does nothing. For realsies tho, I wasn't trying to be a Richard when writing the original comment. I appreciate the work you guys do.
Forgive me?
@@facestick541420 no worries, just protecting my crew. And yes, post production is also volunteer - we've actually had a difficult time getting bands to promote our content (Floater being an exception) so it can be tough to find a model that we can monetize. Once we get there imagine what we'll be able to do with a budget!
@@Pdxspotlight ,
That's fair. A good boss will always defend his when thought to be right. That's how you get a loyal crew. Just between you and me (and I guess maybe the entire internet 😉), would you have enjoyed an edit where you see David play the solo?
Just say yes.
Sidenote, I subscribed, and turned "all" notifications on for your channel. That was a couple months ago. In no time at all you'll have the requirements met to monetize this channel at least. I like your drive tho. Keep on pushing, and one day it'll be just as you imagine.
2 questions what happened to Pete the drummer the real drummer and when is floater going to take back its topic account on UA-cam that has been stolen buy some guy who does auto-tuned mumble rap garbage...?
Pete left the band a few years ago. And sadly, he died last November.
