MK ULTRA SOLDIER II My favorite moment from the show was in season 2, Superman and the Legion visited the City Of Kandor , learning about Braniac's past.
The Creeper I heard if season 3 happened, the Legion was gonna fight Future Darkseid and the team will be a little older. I wish for all the superhero shows that were cancelled like Legion and Spectacular Spiderman, should have gotten another season, but as a Animated movie instead.
The Creeper Did u hear that they ARE doing the Judas contact but based on the world and animation of JL vs Teen Titans, basically the new 52 Animated universe.😕
the legion of superhero es series is an underappreciated masterpiece is up there with Justice League, Batman TAS and Young Justice. I recommend that anyone fan of DC or not should watch it.
Thank you for this video. I ❤💛💙 The Legion of Super-Heroes. Have been reading the comics since I was a kid. Love the stories of Jim Shooter and the artwork of Mike Grell. My fave characters include Light Lass, Invisible Kid, Mon-El, Duplicate Girl, Ferro Lad and Karate Kid. I think the LSH needs to skip the small screen and go straight to the movie theaters. Long live the Legion!!!
I agree with most of these, though I'd quibble about the order a bit. I'd also add The Universo Project from Legion of Super-Heroes vol. 3, #32-35 (March-June 1987) to my top 10. There were some other really good ones, like The Super-Stalag of Space in Adventure #344-345 (1966), The Outlawed Legionnaires in Adventure #359-360 (1967), The Fatal Five Who Twisted Time in Superboy #198 (1973), and also the story in the Legion of Super-Heroes v. 3 #42-43 (1988) just to name a few. Too many good Legion stories!
The Universo Project should make the list, yes.I personaly love Adventure #346-347 for the new dynamic Shooter's layouts gave to Swan's pencils. The 3 panels of KK jumping from a flying platform are a good example of action packed visual storytelling. "Mordru The Merciless" (Adv #369-370) is also one of the best moment of the Shooter-Swan team.
You guys nailed most of the most memorable Legion stories, for the most part. Another story that is quite memorable was the Super Stalag of Space in Adventure Comics #344.
They shortchanged "The Darkness Saga" at #1. The aliens were Daxamites (like Mon-El) who gained their powers when Darkseid moves their planet. It's worth the time to read up on it. Also, the legendary Jim Shooter started his career writing for LSH at 14 years old.
Legion of Superheroes #80 with the Zero Hour Legion. The entire story ties up plot threads and storylines that have been happening over the previous 3 years without most of us knowing it was all tied together. Not to mention the greatest LSH cover of all time! :)
I really miss the Legion. (obligatory correction) #4 -Superboy wasn't being hazed. He was being tested on his humility and how he handled rejection. #7 -On Lightning Lad's Death and resurrection... I absolutely loved the twist when Keith Giffen and the Bierbaum's took over 5YL Legion, and it turns out that it has been Proty's consciousness in Garth's body ever since the resurrection. I will never expect 5YL Legion to show up in top lists, but I enjoyed it. #3 -I was pleasantly surprised to see the Legion Lost Garth sacrifice on the list.
The twist of Proty's mind being in Garth's body had an added twist: When the SW6 Legionnaires appeared, their Lightning Lad had his original personality who was a bit of a rule breaker (I think he was the first one who decided to change his name...to Live Wire).
The legion was my comic book of choice when I was growing up. My favorite's are Mon--El, Ultra Lad, and I like Dream Girl when she was the leader and showed them all she was much more than a pretty blonde.
There was one comic I remember, where Legionnaires broke into the HQ to test the security. It featured Invisible Boy. I LOVED IT. The LSH would make a great movie with CGI.
I want Legion of Superheroes to be made into a live-action full-length sci-fi movie. Ansel Elgort should play Cosmic Boy. Along with two sequels, and spin-offs.
I think some of the best Legion stories are the following: The Legionnaires: The SW6 Legionnaires got their own series and it was great to see a less grim-and-gritty take on the Legion. The first year of the Reboot Legion: It gave us a new look at the Legionnaires we'd come to know and the stories were entertaining.
@@SterlingFoggI agree. It showed both the foolishness of Nemesis Kid (NK) and the strength of Princess Projectra (PP). NK thought that all he needed was the ability to see through PP's illusions to defeat her...big mistake.
I bet Legion of Super-Heroes will be a spin-off. Mon-El is just the groundwork. Or he could be groundwork for a L.E.G.I.O.N. spin-off. And the L.E.G.I.O.N. would be the groundwork for Legion of Super-Heroes.
I read the Legion regularly from 1969 to around 1986, & had most of the back issues. I hadn't time to keep up since, except sporadically. But it was good to see some of the older stuff mentioned, although IMO, the death of one of Triplicate Girl's selves qualifies.
This is a great time to be alive. So many superheroes have come to the screen and on TV. I thought the Legion may be featured on Legends of Tomorrow but the Legion is a way better fit to be on Supergirl. And it looks like the Legion will be coming, especially with this video being done. My first comic was Adventure comics with Superboy/Legion. CW and DC have a great opportunity to introduce the Legion Universe to a new generation of new fans. And the ultimate would be a LSH movie!!!
I would add Legion of Super-heroes 300 (where the brother of Ferro Lad has some dreams about possible futures for the Legion) and the final saga in the Baxter Series, The Magic Wars. Also the first 12 issues or so of the Five Years Later series (by Giffen and the Bierbaums), and End of an Era, comprising the crossovers between Legion of Super-heroes, Legionnaires and Valor during Zero Hour.
Alec Perdeau Geek gets the girl... lol! Brainy doesn't need to be a bad boy to get the most powerful girl in the Legion. He is Brainiac 5, direct descendent of the planetary Godfather of Colu, Vril Dox II. And his father, the first Brainiac. Brainy knows his status, he knows his worth. He just doesn't flaunt it, because he really doesn't care about those things. Supergirl loves technology, because Krypton's technology level is the same as Colu, if not higher. That is why Supergirl feels at home with Brainy, they are on the same level intellectually.
Hello, my personal favorite was when Superboy restored the planet Kyrpton and resized the city of Kandor to repopulate it once more. Reclaiming their heritage as a free, united Krytonians. Long live the Legion!
That one is epic, never forgotten. Superboy, who was created by the Time Trapper, lived in the pocket universe, met Superman one day. and that was the day when an era is about to die, and a new era was about to begin. That happened when four Legionnaires travelled to far back in time. Brainiac 5, Blok Invisible Kid II (Jacques Foccart), and Sun boy. They discovered that Superboy (Kal-El) was from the pocket universe, not the real Superman (The one who is married to Lois Lane in Rebirth). Time Trapper trapped some of the Legionnaires in the pocket Earth, and Superboy of the pocket universe sacrified himself to make sure the rest of the Legionnaires got back to 30th Century. For that, Mon-El went after the Time Trapper and kicked his butt. That is how the 5 year gap era began.
The irony, of course, is that you always thought that Superboy was safe as he would grow up to be Superman. They killed the ONE character you thought couldn't die.
He is the founder of the Gandian Worlds (from his Daxamite name Lar Gand), those planets in the 21st Century, populated by humans, kidnapped and genetic engineered by the Dominators. Those humans that feels they can't fit in in Earth anymore, so they were led by Mon-El to colonize other planets, to be fore front worlds in the war against the Dominators. When Mon-El was lead poisoned in the 21 st Centruy, Superman sent Mon-El into the Phantom Zone, because Superman didn't know how to treat the lead poisoning. As a phantom, Mon-El will not age and the lead poison won't progress further. In 30th Century, Brainiac 5 found a cure for the lead poison, and Mon-El was brought out from the Phantom Zone. He was having MASSIVE problems with the people from the Gandian Worlds, they worshipped him as Jesus or even God. So, how important is Mon-El for the Legion? He is like Superman for the Justice League. That is how important Mon-El is for the Legion.
@Kimble Simpson Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but as someone who has been reading the Legion of Superheros comics for YEARS, I have to agree with Kimble: I prefer the LSH comic book series.
I: 1.watched the cartoon show as a kid. 2. have read SEVERAL (every issue I could get my hands on) of their comic books. 3. have been paranoidly engrossed in the hints DC has dropped about them making an appearance, to batman-esque proportions, for the past year. I guess you could say that I like them a little.
Not to happy with the writing of the Mon-El character on Supergirl. Shows that the writers read the Who's Who in the Legion series, and not the actual book. Flash and Arrow are fairly character consistent, and Gotham is a joy to watch as the villains unfold. But as I watch Supergirl and Legends, I constantly think, who are these people? Can you imagine a Superman show where Clark Kent is a star football player? I don't want to see my favorite team in the those kind of inattentive hands.
Almost the same. Captain Atom's powers are extra-terrestrial, alien based. His quantum energy control gives him energy based powers and the aliens who gave him his powers, turned his skin into Dilustel shell. +CircuitBreaker It's a very strange team. Basically time travelling and the most outlandish stories ever. But this is before writers wanted hero's to be relatable...
Crimson Head The Goon That is why I'm a hardcore Legion fan. They are from an age when Earth is part of the universal community, something most of us today can't understand.
The legion is so underrated.
True
Agree, what’s your thoughts on the show?
The Legion is soooo underrated, my favorite legionnaires are Cosmic Boy, Lightning Lad, Saturn Girl, Timber Wolf and Phantom Girl
I want Legion of Superheroes to be turned into a coming-of-age superhero movie.
Anyone remember the cartoon?
Yes, I liked the cartoon. Season 1 was better than season 2, though.
Yeah. I have seen one of the episodes since 2007.
Legion of Superheroes should come to the big screen and join the DC Extended Universe (DCEU).
Great Darkness saga one of the best story I've ever seen. Please DC bring back Legion.
YES!!! LEGION OF SUPERHEROES IS BASICALLY CONFIRMED!!!
The Great Darkness Saga is a personal favorite. The death of Karate Kid was a powerful epic moment. The death of Ferro Lad is probably the only event that has had a lasting effect in comicbook history. I love the Legion of Superheroes. Their next act needs to be told. Long Live the Legion.
If Warner Animation and DC had any sense, they would look at those three Legion stories to adapt in an animated feature.
One story at the time. There are plenty enough.
The reveal of Validus is probably my favorite
+thecatsofva if Dc didn't have any sense then they wouldn't be doing Significantly better than Marvel Comics-wise

@@Ale_LSH teased in doomsday clock so should be coming
Hugh Mungas They were also teased in Action Comics so yeah I hope they appear soon.

Spark: Darkseid 2 was already taken?
Makes me laugh everytime.
Hope Supegirls meet the Legion of SuperHeroes in the TV series
thank you
My favourite Legion of Superheroes character is Timber Wolf!
Which version? The Furball version or the humanoid version?? LOL!!!
RPG Wizard Yeah lol. He has more potential but DC has misused him
RPG Wizard
Oh, the handsome version. Lol!
1:07 timber wolve papa of wolverine
batman boy yup, he predates him by 10 years
Hue Jackman could just play both. They look the same
+General Steppenwolf i doubt he'd ever be in a Legion movie
The television adaptation which had Superman was a good show and better than Teen Titans.
John Curiel I second that.
John Curiel It was but no way was it better than Teen Titans. If anything the show was a rip-off of Teen Titans.
Pyere Aryo hahaha never have I laughed harder at a comment
Yes I enjoyed the series much more than Teen Titans as well.

Also the first 12 issues or so of the Five Years Later series (by Giffen and the Bierbaums), and End of an Era, comprising the crossovers between Legion of Super-heroes, Legionnaires and Valor during Zero Hour.

I am VERY disappointed by the lack of Timber Wolf in said list.
Greg Sanders so many others too - Matter eater lad, bouncing boy, triplicate girl/duo damsel
if Legion of Superheroes happens, make the romance between Kara and Braniac happen
the greatest romance ever in DC comics. Superman/Wonder Woman isn't even close. That romance is legendary.
David Dun still, Kara x Braniac 5 was adorable. The whole geek gets girl story between them was fun.

YOU NEED TO MAKE NUMBER 5 ANIMATED

legion being lost in the 20th century for final night and after
The only reason why I know about the legion of superheroes is because of the cartoon show on kids wb, which came on every Saturday morning.
awsomeee
The Universo Project was good
So Hal Jordan's death in the Final Night story was just a rehash of a Legion of Superheroes story?
Interesting.
basically, a lot of legionnaires died
The fight against the Time Trapper prior to the 5 year gap.
They should just bring the book back to print.
And they let Bendis ruin it
Nice list, but where was the death of Superboy?
That one is epic, never forgotten. Superboy, who was created by the Time Trapper, lived in the pocket universe, met Superman one day. and that was the day when an era is about to die, and a new era was about to begin. you guys should have used the Legion of Superheroes Tv show 2006-2008
The tv show didn't do the comics justice.
What story has the Superboy Prime Superboy Prime Punch?
What part does Monel play in the Legion of super heroes?

Those humans that feels they can't fit in in Earth anymore, so they were led by Mon-El to colonize other planets, to be fore front worlds in the war against the Dominators.

I Love it!
