- The Bulls finished the 1992-93 regular season at 57-25, the team's fourth straight 50-win campaign. For the second consecutive year Chicago never lost more than two games in a row. On January 16 against the Orlando Magic, Jordan scored 64 points, his second-highest total ever. He won his seventh straight scoring title at season's end and joined Pippen on the NBA All-Defensive First Team. B. J. Armstrong, a fourth-year guard from Iowa, moved into the starting lineup and led the NBA in three-point percentage at .453.
Entering the 1993 NBA Playoffs, the defending champs were still the team to beat, but not the clear-cut favorites. Many, in fact, were picking Coach Pat Riley's New York Knicks to emerge from the Eastern Conference, and still others felt Charles Barkley and the Phoenix Suns, who notched the league's best record at 62-20, would take the crown. Undaunted, the Bulls swept Atlanta in three games and Cleveland in four in the first two rounds of the postseason. They met the Knicks in a much-anticipated Eastern Conference Finals and rallied from a two-game deficit to win four straight and take the series.
As expected, Phoenix was waiting in the NBA Finals. Chicago was looking to make short work of the series after stunning the Suns with two victories in Phoenix, but Barkley carried his team to two improbable wins in Chicago, sending the series back to Phoenix for Game 6. The Suns took control of the contest in the fourth quarter and seemed on their way to forcing a decisive Game 7, but then the Bulls' John Paxson provided one of the greatest moments in Finals history. With Chicago trailing, 98-96, Paxson hit a dramatic three-pointer with 3.9 seconds remaining, giving the Bulls a 99-98 victory and their third straight NBA title.
Michael Jordan averaged 41.0 points against the Suns to break Rick Barry's previous record for the highest scoring average in a Finals series. He was named Finals MVP for the third straight year. With the victory the Bulls became the first NBA team in 27 seasons to win three consecutive championships. (The Minneapolis Lakers, led by George Mikan, won three in a row from 1952 through 1954, and the Bill Russell-led Boston Celtics won eight straight titles from 1959 through 1966.)
I’ll never forget this night as long as I live. Of the six championships they won, 1993 and 1998 were the two that shocked me the most👍👍!
This brings up so many memories, I'm teary eyed :( Whenever you thought the Bulls were gonna lose, they found a way. I was 11 years old and man you could hear the whole city just SHOUT at the same time. I remember my dad, my brother and I jumping around like CRAZY. Oh man, this is the biggest shot of all time. And 20 years later it still gives me goosebumps
"PAXSON FOR THREE, PAXSON YEAAAH, YEAAAH, HITS THE THREE"
Thank you John Paxson for this UNFORGETTABLE MOMENTS.
The passing of the ball down paxon was amazing
Nobody talks about Horace blocking KJ at the end. Awesome play
And few talk about his pass to Paxson.
Inspiring! Michael was right, everyone is gonna look back on this moment and cherish how the Bulls made the 1st three peat :D
I just really miss the NBA on NBC...memories!
NBA on NBC can possibly be revived in 2 years
@@dreamcage1801 I sure hope so. TNT sucks.
@@jasonism123 TNT doesn’t suck when you have Barkley and Shaq and jet on their
When Pax hit that trey, I went crazy. To see them finally win the first one was a thrill. The second one was about validation.
The third, that was history.
God i remember watching this like it was yesterday and I was only 8 years old!!! memory inplant greatest feeling ever!!!
What an epic shot by Paxson. Man, oh man. What a shot. Magic Johnson made a good announcer also. :)
This is the first NBA game I ever since in my life thanks to my uncle Mel I been hooked ever since
The Suns coaches kept saying "no penetration" and what happens, Pippen drives inside and swings the ball around to Johnny Pax for the winner.
it was the most memorable win. this is rare. clutch in the sixth game of NBA FINALS!? Damn.
gorgeous times
What is still amazing to me is that the Bulls were 3-0 in Phoenix in this series.
And 1 and 2 at home. Weird.
"We're gonna have to see if they can respond to the challenge.
That's what champions do."
Love that quote. So true.
I will qoute Magic"there will be a 7th game-did he put his foot in his mouth?Dont ever question the heart of a Champion!!!So much to savoy for years!
If jordan didnt just retire... iF IF IF.. 91-92-93-94-95-96-97-98 would be there era i mean jordan and the bulls. :D
Not 1 not 2 not 3 not 4 LMFAO
3:41 that girlish squeal gets me every time xD
#HARDTODO......Almost PERFECT......MJ....SP..JP...HG........I Salute you all for a great 90 s..#POORKNICKS
A 41 PPG average in THE NBA FINALS??? Are you kidding me? Please, I am begging ya'll, STOP THE COMPARISONS to anybody. Lebron is awesome and more. Kobe is as well. But even if Lebron wins a third straight title, we need to remember that MJ took two years off!!!!!! And after coming back, he lead them to 3 more straight titles. If anyone can do anything close to that, we can have a conversation. Folks, MJ is the greatest team player in the history of sports, and it is not even close. Merry Christmas ya'll! Cars.
I Fill You 100% Carson......The #GOAT Set Sail from a Island of Super Stars #MJ...Put Kobe...Russell..Oscar...Wilt...Etc...Etc...BUT MJ?None is close,,,,,,,,,,
Is it Chaka Khan singing at the end of this video? 90's music and 90's NBA at its best!
Penny Ford - I’ll be there
i remember i was at work with my little tv and i couldnt see the screen but i could here the audio and i swear i thought the bulls were gonna lose this game. i live in flagstaff arizona and all these band wagon fans were getting on my nerves, so when paxon hit that shot ,man i was the happiest bull fan. bulls of the 90s were to me the greatest teams
Very nice. Very Nice. Thanks for the upload.
Cheers for the upload. Boosh!
Magic Johnson is one positive man
I've got Learning to Fly and Untouchabulls on VHS, never got this one for some reason. Sottie Pippen is awesome, I know Jordan is better but Pippen is awesome. Can't win championships with just 1 super player, you need 2.
THE BEST
I was happy because I didn't feel like the Suns deserved it ... Vs Seattle in the West finals the Suns shot 64 free throws in game 7.... 64 dam free throw attempts in a game 7 that decides a series...
5:15 the trip-bulls
did paxson get the game ball?
I wonder how the guy @1:42 felt after the game
Exactly 😂😂😂
Jordan is the only player to receive the championship trophy straight from the commissioner during ceremony. No owner, GM or Head Coach.
Is there anyone out there who can explain to me why there is not a way to give a thumbs up or a thumbs down to comments? The comments are there, but the ratings icons are not there now. Any thoughts? I'm no computer genius, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Cars.

Video Home System?
@trulanyva
what is vhs?
1993 Phoenix Suns, toughest West team that the first three-peaters faced. I think the Suns would have won game 7. They had Charles playing like a man possessed, Kevin Johnson was beginning to assert himself in the series, they were playing much better defense and they had support guys who could hit big shots like Majerle and Ainge. Dumas had some big plays too. And they would have had game 7 at home.
@ trulanyva I have it too 91 92 93, 96 and 98
4:00 AHAHAHAHAHHAHA
Michael Jordan almost seems bored during the celebration. It's as if he knows it is rigged...
How do you rig a guy averaging 40 points in a series?
MJ got every call. They eliminated the travel just because of him. He was allowed to push off and pull jerseys game in and game out throughout his career. Fans of the portland trailblazers can attest to this. They had to put up with the rigging in favor of the bulls and pistons for decades...
You sound upset.
The truth can be upsetting I suppose. Sports aren't real.
@@thevrilpill you're a straight idiot
skip bayless have you seen this Michael PASSED the ball in the final seconds!! making the right play to win every great player needs help no I in team skip. now leave LeBron alone!!!!
