That rock in question is probably the hardest thing to take in Europe, you'll quite need army, air and navy to take "the rock" Gibraltar is the reason why strong battlefield fortifications sometimes received a nickname called "Little Gibraltar"
@@rewriting-history while I could agree that some groups like the Falange would be willing to collaborate, I would imagine some groups such as the requete would still fight the Germans (as they had been fighting the Spanish government for years) as well as the remaining members of the CNT FAI or other republican factions. I just find it hard to imagine monarchist, anarchists, and catholic hard liners allowing for a pro German government to step in
A common mistake I see in these videos is portraying Germany to have control of the Bialostok region after the fall of Poland, which belonged to the Soviets.
What if you do a timeline where Spain AND Turkey are forced into the Axis Powers. As with Turkey fully joining the Axis means that the Axis can most likely win any battles in the middle east and perhaps prevent the Allied invasion of Iran. The Axis winning in the middle east means that the Axis could also take or disable the Suez Canal which makes the Allies retaking North Africa a lot harder. Having Turkey in the Axis means Germany can directly take the Caucas territories in the beginning of the German-Soviet conflict which increases the chances of European, Axis powers suriving the war and getting a reasonable peace deal with the Allies.
I see people saying that Spain could organize guerilla warfare tactics like it was with Napoleon but I want to mention few differences: - in napoleonic wars, invasion of iberia is just another of many, many napoleon's campaigns while operation fenix would be executed early, not so long after outbreak of ww2 -in napoleonic wars, Spain wasn't that much divided as it was after civil war -in napolonic wars, Napoleon at the time of iberian campaign, already was stretched thin
Hitler said we can't enter spain whitout the permission of the spaniards me as a spaniard kinda agree becouse when napoleon invaded he got tons of issues😎😎😎😎😎😎
I'd say Germans would still rush to reinforce _at least_ the French front. Plus, with Soviets being far more successful, I'd doubt they'd get less. I think the allied advantages of having spain as a landing ground and Soviet advantages of barbarossa being FAR weaker could even each other out, if not give overall advantage to the soviets. Nice video though, I like this prospect.
I agree with you, as I said I don't want to have the same old historical borders, which will get boring. Imagine watching a 21 minute video just to see the exact same borders at the end, but Spain is in NATO 30 years earlier. That would be a realistic, yet boring conclusion

everybody knew franco wouldnt join the war, spain just wasnt ready for that war, especially after the civil war,he actually ,even convinced mussolini ,that he shouldnt had joined,
I don't think Spain would fall that easily, if anything I think this would be a disaster, Communists partisans with allied support would be incredibly tumultuous, and would definitely bring a lot of animosity towards Mussolini, additionally I think Portugal will absolutely join the Allies, an Iberian front would absolutely be a logistical nightmare, you're spot on with not being a military genius because holy shit imagine trying to invade a country with decimated infrastructure and a mountain range separating it from you and your supplies, I don't think invading Spain will be that easy, Britain and Portugal will definitely make it a living hell, remember the Napoleonic wars? Spain will become Germany's Vietnam, a resource sink that will give the USSR a stronger position, alienate their Italian allies which may see Germany as a potential backstabbing conqueror one day, and will be used as further propaganda and justification by Roosevelt to increase lend-lease efforts a significant margin, not to mention that occupying Iberia costs a lot, and I don't think that a lot Spanish fascists will cooperate seeing as they only asked for more but got declared war on, if anything they'll only interpret it as an act of aggression. I really dislike this scenario, it feels a bit too unrealistic even by alternative history standards, if anything it sounds like wishful thinking compared to what will actually happen, there is a good reason why invading Spain never happened in real life, it's just too much of a hassle and this scenario does not reflect that at all in my opinion, good video though.

Gibraltar is the reason why strong battlefield fortifications sometimes received a nickname called "Little Gibraltar"
A scenario ending in a stronger NATO in the Cold War is a good scenario
I was expecting him to mention guerrillas or some rebellion and he said nothing.
Well with the Spanish collaborators in charge, there won't be much
@@rewriting-history while I could agree that some groups like the Falange would be willing to collaborate, I would imagine some groups such as the requete would still fight the Germans (as they had been fighting the Spanish government for years) as well as the remaining members of the CNT FAI or other republican factions. I just find it hard to imagine monarchist, anarchists, and catholic hard liners allowing for a pro German government to step in
A common mistake I see in these videos is portraying Germany to have control of the Bialostok region after the fall of Poland, which belonged to the Soviets.
I will adjust the exact borders, but it doesn't change the reality too much, just my bad
@ No worries, videos are still high quality for how consistently they’re made. Keep up the good work
The Polish molotov-ribbenbeck borders Are still wrong!!!
Okay 👌
I see people saying that Spain could organize guerilla warfare tactics like it was with Napoleon but I want to mention few differences:
- in napoleonic wars, invasion of iberia is just another of many, many napoleon's campaigns while operation fenix would be executed early, not so long after outbreak of ww2
-in napoleonic wars, Spain wasn't that much divided as it was after civil war
-in napolonic wars, Napoleon at the time of iberian campaign, already was stretched thin
It would be cool if there was a video about a german-russian alliance in ww1 but the allies (britain, france, austria) still win somehow
Hitler said we can't enter spain whitout the permission of the spaniards me as a spaniard kinda agree becouse when napoleon invaded he got tons of issues😎😎😎😎😎😎
And if history repets the spanish republic would be in constant chaos
Greater yougoslavia part two when?
Andorra and Liechtenstein. Sleeping giants.
Don't forget San Marino
@@rewriting-history True.
That would be a realistic, yet boring conclusion
the operations names are so gotterdammerung dlc
Lmao 🤣
MAN I AM ALWAYS GETTING THIRSTY FOR WATER WHEN WATCHING THESE
Huh, how come?
@@rewriting-historyThe water on the map makes me thirsty probably (But still good video! It is mostly explained in detail and also simply understandable. Also its good that u censored that one flag)
What about Catalan independence?
Not independence but proper autonomy

Video idea: what if Italy never invaded Greece?
Germany would.
Napoleon be giggling from the afterlife. .
Video idea: What if Skënderbeu didn't die on 7 January 1468 from malaria and invaded the ottoman empire
9:49 Coincidence lvl 100 / And on this timeline the crusaders are the British Colonies
What if the British empire collapsed duringWW2? ((like India and Ireland revolt followed by the rest of their colonies revolting))
20:10 Equatorial Guinea will remain too?
And Ifni? Spaim wanted to stay with it
They were considered provinces, probably a lot of autonomy would be applied
So it would be Richer Czechia ,Portugal and Spain and slightly germany… i see that as absolute win
everybody knew franco wouldnt join the war, spain just wasnt ready for that war, especially after the civil war,he actually ,even convinced mussolini ,that he shouldnt had joined,
I don't think Spain would fall that easily, if anything I think this would be a disaster, Communists partisans with allied support would be incredibly tumultuous, and would definitely bring a lot of animosity towards Mussolini, additionally I think Portugal will absolutely join the Allies, an Iberian front would absolutely be a logistical nightmare, you're spot on with not being a military genius because holy shit imagine trying to invade a country with decimated infrastructure and a mountain range separating it from you and your supplies, I don't think invading Spain will be that easy, Britain and Portugal will definitely make it a living hell, remember the Napoleonic wars?
Ballermann is actually German right now.
I should have made Germany annex it, for the memes
what if soviet union attacked first
The moment this comment was done is after you finished the video

What if Japan divided like Germany after the Second World War?
