I'm very selective in which MMA fighters I follow, I think Poirier was the first I commited to following from a loss way back when, I was already a fan but his 'be grateful/ be graceful' speech was truly a powerful moment in my life. It's not just how you fight, it's how you carry yourself as a human being, we are ALL fallable, we can ALL make mistakes, we can ALL be bettered by someone else on a given day. True inspiration, true champions, show us how to get back up on our feet and even then sometimes it just does not work out, a warrior does not ignore that noise but try to challenge it. Though not a practitioner myself, martials arts, to me, has always been about respect, in victory and defeat. Just stepping in the cage commands respect. I get maintaining an ego while an active fighter, I totally get it, but in the years to come, if humility does not show itself, I just cannot respect lofty accomplishments.
oh and using PED's, in this modern age of combat, you will very likely never have respect from myself. If everyone is doing it, no problem, but potentially ending a competitiors career from cheating is just down right disgusting and should be treated as a criminal action.

In fairness to Sean O Malley the leg kick from Chito Vera was not a result of training or an intentional strike. It was incredibly lucky that he happened to hit the nerve in Sean’s leg that way and not something that could be recreated. O Malley also dominated him in the fight before then and dominated in their second fight. Is he being a bit of a sore loser? Yes but I do think he is far more skilled than Chito and 99 times out of 100 would have won that fight.

To be fair, even before they fought Rockhold was always singing Bisping's praises. In the run up to the first fight he was congratulating Bisping on being one of the toughest, most determined guys in the sport.
Rhys Peregrine that’s all he did was acknowledge his “toughness” he never once mentioned his big flaws in his stand up and instead just said he was “overconfident”. He didn’t give Bisping credit.

Yoel has a tendency to do that alot , he did it when he pulled Stool gate, with izzy and with Whittaker 2 but he forgot he missed weight in the second Whittaker fight.

DC was flat on his ass, mounted, eating bombs from the heavyweight champ and they still didn’t stop it. The exact same time left in the round and was clearly more hurt than Dom was too. The alcohol and cigarettes comment was a bad look, but 1 incident that every fighter would have a problem with if it happened to them, doesn’t make him a sore loser.

To be fair, her two decisions to Rose and Zhang were super close and could have gone either way. She could have been champion again very easily those nights and probably still can.

I'm very selective in which MMA fighters I follow, I think Poirier was the first I commited to following from a loss way back when, I was already a fan but his 'be grateful/ be graceful' speech was truly a powerful moment in my life.
It's not just how you fight, it's how you carry yourself as a human being, we are ALL fallable, we can ALL make mistakes, we can ALL be bettered by someone else on a given day.
True inspiration, true champions, show us how to get back up on our feet and even then sometimes it just does not work out, a warrior does not ignore that noise but try to challenge it.
Though not a practitioner myself, martials arts, to me, has always been about respect, in victory and defeat. Just stepping in the cage commands respect.
I get maintaining an ego while an active fighter, I totally get it, but in the years to come, if humility does not show itself, I just cannot respect lofty accomplishments.
oh and using PED's, in this modern age of combat, you will very likely never have respect from myself. If everyone is doing it, no problem, but potentially ending a competitiors career from cheating is just down right disgusting and should be treated as a criminal action.

In fairness to Sean O Malley the leg kick from Chito Vera was not a result of training or an intentional strike. It was incredibly lucky that he happened to hit the nerve in Sean’s leg that way and not something that could be recreated. O Malley also dominated him in the fight before then and dominated in their second fight. Is he being a bit of a sore loser? Yes but I do think he is far more skilled than Chito and 99 times out of 100 would have won that fight.
