- We all love the King of Country George Strait, but did you know the #1 influence on him to start making country was Merle Haggard? @GeorgeStrait #georgestrait @TheMerleHaggard #merlehaggard

❤❤❤❤!
Merle. Another one of Greatest. RIP brother 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤❤
That doesn't surprise me 👍👍
Merle influenced a bunch of stars to start making music.❤❤
I may have grown up just before and during Buddy Deane but I love me some country dancing and music….
He was first into rock and roll and your correct it was Merle haggard that inspired him to do country music
I'm sure Merle Haggard influenced a lot of Country and Western stars
Merle was ONE of the artists that inspired George Strait. If you listen to his music, it is obvious that his larger inspiration was Bob Wills. It might be hard to understand if you're not from Texas. If you listen to Bob Wills, then put on George Strait, it is unmistakable. George Stait is more Western than Country. They are not the same. People have sort of lumped them in together in modern times. Western Swing some roots in Eastern Country music, but more in Norteno (Mexican), German polka, and Jazz.
Like I said, these days most people don't know who Bob Wills was:
'You can hear the Grand Ol' Opry in Nashville Tennessee
It's the home of country music, on that we all agree
But when you cross that ol' Red River, it just don't mean a thing
Cause once you're down in Texas, Bob Wills is still the King'
HELLO FRIENDS AMEN WITH❤LOVE❤ALWAYS FRIENDS
So what's wrong with merl
He needs an 'e' @ the end of his name... if you're referring to The Hagg.
“We all love the King of Country, George Strait”… Who the f*** is George Strait?
I am deeply sorry for you not knowing who George Strait is
@@CountryCoverageOfficial I’m deeply sorry for you not knowing the original black American musicians who started and developed country music.
@@RacerRobo That's quite the assumption, and it's incorrect. I know all things country. I'm literally Country Coverage
