By casting screen on my mobile with SpaceDesk i was lucky enough to install spacedesk on my laptop before it's screen start showing lines so it's just 1 click connect now 😂😂 now my laptop's non working parts are dedicated gpu , screen , some capasitor that is causing laptop to not turn on if i leave it in open( to start it i need to put it in my bag everytime i shut it down) as soon as i build pc i am gonna throw this in garbage after removing useful components.
Thank Goodness someone is still making videos about this laptop. I've had mine since mid 2019 and it's been quite a ride. The thermal throttle isn't the worst problem, power throttling is the catch with this laptop. I've learned a lot with this bad boy and opened it several times to oil the fans, unclog the scape and change the thermal pastel.
@@clive0494 it means the laptop is not using all of his performance and power because it's not connected to AC outlet. You can set the limit a bit higher so it isn't going to do that too fast, the standard is very low.
Man I have nearly all the same problems you had with this laptop besides the audio crackling issue, I've noticed for me at least the random freezing and crashes usually occur when I'm using an internet browser or watching videos, playing games it rarely if ever froze on me, that said the freezing only started happening for me after about a year or so of using it, I'm glad I'm after replacing it with a PC.
Damn I thought I was the only one with these issues hahah. The random freezing and hinge are the worst issues but also overheating CPU (i7) with some games (not even AAA games). Getting an external cooling pad underneath helps at least. The anti-dust cooling is adequate though.
This laptop has throttling issue indeed but i manage to fix that by cleaning the fan every 3 month. It got quite dirty plus it has bad cooling system, thats why u cant tolerant with such dirt with the fan. Thats some tips from me
Can't relate. I had this laptop for 3 years and had no problems with it at all. Literally nothing. The only thing I didn't like about this laptop was the battery. Everything else works perfectly for me.
I haven't has any freezing or sound issues with mine, and I have the i5 HDD model. Just took it apart today and "fixed" the hinge with superglue. Ill come back here when it breaks again...
Can confirm hinge design is bad I can't open back plate open cuz screw on top right & left didn't come out cuz that screw into hinge Audio issues can be fix by reinstall audio driver

I agree with the hinge issue. Sure. It's annoying, sure it can't be fixed none other than warranty technician, BUT I highly disagree with audio and freezing. I owned the i7 , 1060 version for 3 years and first time it went to repair was none other than because of the hinges. Next one was just recently as the gpu fan stopped working, but it was repaired just with a bit of dusting. Now the laptop is again in warranty repair because of the hinges. Yea. They suck, but everything else I highly disagree especially with the Techtablets review which I showed to few of my friends who know bit more cooling of laptops and the cooling is just fine in FX series being a laptop.

This is probably either because you put more ram into yours or because I accidentally bought the variant with an AMD processor, maybe a bit of both. I've been considering lately to get rid of this thing and buy a new one, but I cant decide between doing that or just getting some upgrades for mine (its completely stock still). I'm looking for advice on which choice to make and what would be the best thing to do for that choice (what upgrades to get/good laptops to buy). Knowing my parents they will restrict my budget for a laptop to like 1000 tops. Any advice would be helpful! P.S: My fans (specifically the one on the right side of the computer, left when your looking inside from the bottom) have been making a strange grindy/rattily sound lately and I tried cleaning them to no avail. Any Idea what would cause this issue? I suspect a faulty motor or a fan being off balance but I don't know for sure.
Fan prolly has a bad bearing, which would need to be replaced. I had 2 upgrades to my laptop, 8gb of more ram and 480gb ssd to extra storage. Honestly i think waiting until budget laptops come down in price is your best bet (hopefully by the end of this year).Getting that fan replaced is definitely recommended.

You can get them for 20 bucks on eBay. It’s an easy fix even for a beginner. First remove the back panel (many videos on UA-cam that can show you how). Take out the screws holding in the fan, discount the fan connector and replace them.
Not of hand but, here is a universal screw kit, which some people have used for laptops- amzn.to/2RBsx3f I'd try going through some forums and see if anyone else has done the same.

I should make a video, I had terrible problems with my Asus 504GD 1050 but with alot of tweaking, a complete hardrive failure the seagate fire cuda 1tb it came with and the 128gb m.2 ssd it was somehow missing I just put thermal paste on the gpu and cpu, i put a regular laptopHDD and reformatted it pulled the bios battery out for a minute and put it back in. I used AVG driver update and ditched all the stupid asus drivus but the bios and it runs great! Finally, and yes my hinges broke too i usedHOT glue fearing that super glue if that got on y screen it would be terrible. Good luck and Asus is terrible i bought a graphics card off them and it gave me a bitcoin miner virus that was almost impossible to get rid of

With all due respect, nothing but nothing of what is reported in the video is real, I have put 16 gb and a 500 gb ssd on it, and it works spectacularly. I have tested everything and it is different from what you report, I am sorry that it works badly, it is very possible that you have some problem in the hardware, or you have had a batch that was manufactured badly, but in my case even connected to a monitor via HDMI It works perfect, it's more like a systems technician, I repair many higher quality gamer noteboks, and this one surpasses it. a greeting I only comment on my experience.

Simplest resolution so far I've found for my Asus FX504GM freeze is to detach battery

Two months in and the “fix” is still holding. I’ve stopped traveling with the laptop and started closing it from the side/ bottom of the screen

You can buy any 2.5in hard drive or SSD. And SSD are cheap, so 500gb from samsung and 1tb from crucial is a good choice.

What you want to get is a 500GB (or larger) NVME M.2 SSD. Get gen 3 cuz it doesn't support gen 4.
