Bahoot hi satikta se aapne Dharmatma ke baare me information di. Dharmatma Feroz Khan ki pehli blockbuster thi and 3rd solo hit after Apradh and Khote Sikkey. After more than 15 years of struggle his hardwork paid off. He was a brilliant filmmaker who made some of the most stylish action thriller films even if they were inspired from hollywood. He was a big fan of hollywood films so we can see that he was perhaps the first indian to watch godfather back in 1972 when he attended the film Festival in USA. So Indian audience connected with Dharmatma. His screen presence was simply outstanding. He deserved the full credit for Dharmatma. He was one filmmaker/actor after Raj Kapoor who knew his craft to the fullest and worked a lot on how to present glamour to his heroines. Hema indeed looked most beautiful in this film. Rekha was good in supporting role. Farida Jalal, Danny, Premnath, Satyen kappu, jeevan, ranjeet, Imtiaz khan, Ifftekhar and many others were brilliant. Action stunts look so real and thrilling. Hatts off to Feroz Khan!!!!

Dharmatma was one of the best thriller movies. What happens when Clint Eastwood meets The Godfather. You get Dharmatma. Handsome Feroz Khan puri tarah se chaa gaye the is film me. One of the best film of 1975. Hema was looking gorgeous. Rekha did well on a special appearance. She was on weight loss process we can see that. Overall other actors like Premnath, Jeevan, Farida Jalal also did great. Episode zabardast tha.

I've seen this film no. of times & liked every time.Hema Malini was looking incomparable, Rekha was superb in her role, songs, photography was excellent, Premnath,Sulochna,Farida,Danny & all supporting actors performed well.Finally it was Feroz Khan who excelled.
One more aspect - The Bahmian Sculptures have been destroyed later,but one can see it in the movie.
I'm ready to see it once again.

Feroz Khan's character was a combination of James Caan's Sonny & Al Pacino's Michael. The best part of Premnath saab's character was that he did not mumble like Marlon Brando. Every other actor in Hindi films starts mumbling if he is playing a godfather. Danny's character was original and I wish he had been in the second half. Imitiaz's Carlo character had a greater role in this but was dastardly in the same manner. Thanks for the information.

Feroz khan’s acting direction and delivery and kalyanji Anandjis background music, Title music, and songs made this movie great! All actors were good because of the director and Hema Malini was stunning. It was Feroz hema Rekha that attracted many not premnath who was good but not the main reason to watch this movie. The soundtrack was as beautiful as stars. It solidified the team and friendship of Feroz khan and Kalyandji Anandji for years to come. One of the craziest musicians and film directors of Indian Cinema who loved western music and styles who could deliver it better than the original. 1975 was the zenith of Indian cinema with Sholay, India’s best movie ever! And Feroz khan’s dharmatma.

Very nice information. Thanks. I also heard that Hema Malini and her parents being staunch vegetarians had problems with their diet in Afghanistan, a hardcore non vegetarian country ! So they mostly ate bread with tomatoes while they were there.
Due to pure vegetarian Hema Malini ate bread with onion during the shooting of this movie in Afghanistan

Feroze khan was ahead of his times in his pictures and music !
In 70s a heroine alone would die or killed off even in the end was very rare or maybe never attempted before. In Roti both hero and heroine die but in this film Feroz Khan went against tides and showed unique story where the main heroine dies in the middle of the film and marry his childhood friend who was not the main heroine. Intitially it seemed disastrous choice because everyone wants the heroine to survive and have an happy ending. But feroz khan was very creative director and knew his craft and he proved it with the blockbuster success of Dharmatma. So kudos to him.

Jay Santoshi Maa par bhi special episode banaiye. Us film ne 1975 ki sabse badi opening li thi, Sholay se bhi badi opening aur sholay ke saath clash hote hue bhi uska craze bahoot zyada tha. Sholay ke baad 2nd highest grosser thi. Log tracters bhar bhar ke jaa rahe the cinema hall me. Aur ek bahoot achchi dharmik film thi. Us par ek special episode to banna hi chahiye.

I wonder how hema managed her time to work in both dharmatma n sholay..but Danny didn't..in fact hema was one of the busiest actress of that time...still she managed but Danny didn't...
It is not that complicated thing..in Sholay there is more than enough shoot of gabbar ( Amjad Khan)where Hema was not required.. during that shoot Danny was in afganistan..

मैने ये फिल्म रोड पर देखी. उस वक्त मुंबई में किसी भी फंक्शन में रोड या मैदान में परदा लगाकर फिल्म दिखाने का रीवांज था. ये सब बताने की वजह ये है की ऐसी जबरदस्त फिल्म देखने के लिये जो महौल चाहिए था वैसा रफ अँड टफ
क्रावुड तो थिएटर के बाहर ही मिल सकता था. इसलिये मुझे ये फिल्म देखने में मझा आया.😅

फिरोज खान जिसे एडिशनल शो मैन कहा जाता था उन्होंने फिल्म की शूटिंग के लिए अफगानिस्तान की लोकेशन को चुना.था फिरोज खान ने अफगानिस्तान के बेहद रोचक खेल बुज़कशी का खेल दिखाया गया था जिससे प्रेरित होकर कई बरस बाद मुकुल एस. आनंद ने फिल्म ख़ुदा गवाह में भी बुज़कशी के सीन शूट किये गये थे ।
आपका कहना बिल्कुल सही है कि फिल्म गाॅड फादर का सबसे बढ़िया रीमेक धर्मात्मा ही थी भले ही बाद में मणिरत्नम निर्देशित वेल्लू नायकन भी बेहद कसी पटकथा और कमल हासन के शानदार अभिनय की वजह से एक मील.का पत्थर साबित हुई थी

I also noticed that in the song "Meri galiyon se logon ki yaari" Feroz Khan's hair style kept changing. Any reason behind it? Also what was the hair style of 70s heroes which Feroz Khan developed along with many others like Rajesh Khanna, Vinod Khanna, Vinod Mehra, Sunil Dutt, and many others????
Many times many shots were added later on in the scenes or songs..this happened in this song but they failed to maintained the continuity of hair style or they were in hurry and used even bad shots...it was regular practice in those days..

Both had to take over family business, the villians wanted the father dead (Anil kapor, Premnath). Both had memorable villians dead. Main lead had two ladies in his life 🥹🥹. In my opinion, animal was the best film of 2023
