- Hello, travel photography friends!
Join me on an incredible photo adventure to the remote village of Namkhey, nestled in the Tang Valley of Bumthang District, Bhutan. In this episode, we’ll delve into the rich Bhutanese culture as I capture the vibrant festivities of this hidden gem. This village was out of the beaten path, and we found it by chance when our guide heard about this celebration from a local. Besides our small group, no other foreigners were there, and we had a fantastic experience.
This video is part of my Bhutan series, where I uncover the magic of the Land of the Thunder Dragon.
Experience the authentic beauty of Namkhey as we traverse through its serene landscapes, engage with its warm-hearted locals, and witness a unique local festivity that showcases the village’s cultural heritage.
I’ll share my thoughts, process, and the challenges of shooting in such a remote area. Plus, you’ll see how I balance capturing stunning photographs while respecting local customs and traditions.
For those curious about my gear, I’m shooting with the Fujifilm GFX100s paired with the GF 45-100mm and GF 100-200mm lenses. This setup continues to be my trusty companion on these adventures.
