my mom used to play one of these with me! ours was growing a vegetable patch. you would till the soil, and make the rows, then planting the seeds and naming each type of veggie as you went, then covering the seeds with dirt, and then rain falling over them all and sunshine shining on them to help them grow TT u TT very good childhood memories indeed. these were great to listen to, thank you so much for sharing and triggering a lot of us in the best of ways.

Never been to summer camp but my older sister has our family goes camping at ocean city and me and her friend that comes with us we both tell scary stories that are funny at the camper and during our bike rides loved that girl
I haven't thought of these since my mom passed away when I was young, since she used to this to help me sleep at night. This was really relaxing and these were so nice to hear again.
The first one actually made me cry. My grandmother used to it until i fell asleep. We no longer talk due to family issues being brought to light. These late nights make the stained memories hurt more
love how we all grew up with slightly different variations but it seems like we all still ended it with a cool breeze and now you've got the shiveries. its sweet to think about 🥰
The version we did as kids where I live was honestly a bit weird. The direct translation would be: "Three knives to the back, blood runs down, spiders crawling in your hair, snakes 'round your neck, crack an egg on your head and the yolk runs down-" and then you'd usually say "boo" or something. Maybe lightly push the person as you're saying it too. So yea, pretty hardcore for a bunch of 6 year olds lol
Such a nostalgic thing for me. My mom used to help me sleep with these every other night. In my country we call them "wierszyki-masażyki", which roughly translates to massage poems ^^ Loved the video!
Me and my sisters would make massage poems all the time before our parents divorce and we called them back scratch stories 💗 they were so fun and calming at the same time.
this stuff is so interesting!! my version of the shiveries was so much shorter and had like half of the same elements. it's cool how much these things change from place to place and time to time

My uncle used to draw animals or objects in my back and make me guess what they were. I don’t know when it stopped but I always look back on those moments with great fondness. Even the memory of it relaxes me.
I have many fond memories of these games from childhood. Very tingly and relaxing after a stressful week. The egg yolk and dagger in the back reminded me of the episode of The Office when Dwight helps Michael relax with these games. Thank you Erin!
I've never had anyone do this with me, and as someone who loves physical touch as a calming release, this made me very giddy and happy. I felt like a child and felt very loved!❤ thank you!

Never ever ever…ever ever change who you are. It is what makes your videos so special ❤️ Never have I smiled so much during an asmr video for the playfulness & sweetness. This world desperately needs more of you, for sure ❤️
I had completely forgotten about this until this video. I never realized I had actually experienced ASMR as a child so many decades ago. Thank you for the memory.
One that my mom did was "Knock on the door, peek in, lift up the latch and walk in. Here's a chair, place it there. Run down cellar and chop the wood." I haven't thought of that one in thirty years. Thanks for all the effort and cleverness that you put into these vids, and thanks for helping jog my memory!
Thank you Erin. Just thinking about it has given me many fond memories of my mother, who would not only do those games, but she also had a very gentle back scratch (massage) with her nails that she would always give me and it would always put me right to bed, no matter if I was sad or hyper.
I was just wondering the other day why there aren't more ASMR videos of these "giving you the shivers" games, so I'm really happy to see this one! I remember getting ASMR from them before I knew what ASMR was, and I'm sure it's the same for a lot of people!
Have u seen Sarai's one that's all egg cracking? 🥚 and there's a Scottish asmr person who does these too. She did a whole video of different versions. And Diddly did at least one video... I'll try to find links.
I LOVED these as a kid (and still do at 32!) From Michigan, ours was something like: Going on a camping trip X marks the spot three lines down and a question mark a pinch a squeeze a tropical breeze (blowing) now you've got, the shiveries chills going up your back chills going down crack an egg on your head and let the yolk run down spiders crawling up your back spiders crawling down spiders crawling up your back TO GETCHA!
We just called it a tickeley massage. Those were always my favorite. Thank you Erin for making me feel so comfortable that I allow myself to be completely vulnerable, just like when I was wee lad about to go to bed while my momma took care of me. Seriously, thank you for capturing that feeling in these videos. I friggin love you for it. ❤️🤘🏾
You’re my absolute favourite ASMRtist! I absolutely adore your energy, your style, your humour - you are such a gift to this earth ! Thank you so much for another amazing video 💖
I'd never heard of these! It would have absolutely been my favourite as a kid though, I did love it when people played with my hair and having that kind of friendly casual contact is something I miss as an adult.
One of these games I really liked as a kid was this one where you had to look away while someone tickled your forearm, slowly moving up to the inside of your elbow. You had to guess when they reached that point, and somehow usually your guess was off by an inch or two. Idk if it made a difference but it also involved slapping your arm beforehand (to mess with your nerves??) lol
When I tell you i ✨GASPED✨ at this title. Couldn’t figure out what this game was called for sooooo many years, but it was my very first ASMR experience as a child. Cannot wait to watch this tonight! 💗 Thank u miss moon for this special & nostalgic video idea 🌙

This was so much fun to watch. Very wholesome and relaxing. This would be great for young kids yet still works for adults. Erin's enthusiasm and animations were very soothing. One of my favorite videos over the 10+ years watching ASMR.
I really hope things improve for you. I love your username, are you a fan of Chicago? I love musicals myself haha, they always help take my mind off of sad/stressful things 💖🦋
This was very soothing. I never had friends that did this when I was in school, but I remember seeing other kids doing these and thinking it was neat. The one about the cats was my favorite.
There are so many moments in this video that were simply sublime (I've replayed the "They bite you! They bite you", the sugar pouring, and the tapping triggers so many times), but the real stand out was the sandcastle stacking noise. I'm in awe, it was SO enjoyable I can't stop listening 🥰
Your videos are so comforting and nostalgic even though I never really experienced this stuff when I was young its always a treat with your kiddy videos
Omg. This is my new favorite ASMR vid ever!!!! I could practically feel it and my spine was tingling with every single game like you were actually doing them on me. These bring out my inner child and I love it ❤
I don't usually comment, but I feel I should here. The first experience I ever had with ASMR that I can remember was from my mom telling me a bedtime story. These stories would involve a character that was an adventure version of myself a la Indiana Jones. One of these adventures took place in the desert and involved a tarantula crawling up my back. My mom would crawl her fingers up my back to relax me, and I loved it so much I would often ask her to do it separate from the story. Of course, during the story, it also helped that she had such a soft speaking voice. Years later, I finally found the terms for the videos that contain soft speaking and became a fan of both guided meditations and ASMR. To watch this video from my favorite ASMRtist feels kind of like it's coming full circle in a crazy way so thank you, Moon, for uploading yet another relaxing and comforting video!!
These were an absolute delight. You turned my day from stressful into tingly joy. You could call these Tingle-rhymes or something like that. They are an amazing way for folks of all ages to get off to sleep and I bet they would be a big hit with little kids. They have such a delightful playful vibe about them....Thank you Erin!!! Your videos are Lovely as always🙏🏽🥰💕💤💯🌈💖💫
Ahh, the classic "someone in my family is secretly a witch, and they passed this down" game. Seriously, I have tried to trace this series of "games" back for multiple friends who had forms of this, and 3 of them learned directly from family members who practiced witchcraft. Glad to see our traditions transcends its origins.
This game was where I learned that I had the ability to feel something seriously awe inspiring & delightful, eventually learning that it was ASMR. Finding out that there's a whole community of ppl who understand exactly what I was feeling, has changed my life.. This brought me total nostalgia!😛💜☮
One of the memories i remember when playing back tracing games is when me and my classmates would wait for our parents to pick us up, and we would take turns tracing some shapes or animals, or we would guess a word just by tracing the letters. Definitely a part of my childhood 🥰
I taught two of my little cousins the Treasure Island rhyme, and now it’s one of our favorite things to do when we see each other. Thanks for introducing us to this!
It's insane because I'm French and we had that first one pretty much exactly the same word for word :o I don't remember it being a treasure island, but I distinctly remember the egg, the spiders, the dagger... crazy how these things travel :)
I would literally pay like $1000 just have have a twenty minute personalized ASMR session with you lol You and softlygaloshes are the most calming ASMRtists that I’ve had the pleasure of subbing to!
softlygaloshes was my introduction to ASMR almost a decade ago, I still enjoy her videos to this day, plus Erin is who I'd consider the best and most effective creator in the genre, so it's pretty neat to see them together in a comment like this (even if it was a bit parasocial, lol).
This reminded me so much of when my mum used to read my sister and I bedtime stories that rhymed like that, it made me so badly want to go back to then, this made me feel sleepier than most other ASMR videos Thank you so much Erin ☺️
I adore the one about the kittens so much, I find that one to be the most relaxing for me. Or perhaps the image is just too cute! I also remembered part of one when I was a kid ; Line, line, number nine. Double dot, electric shock. And that’s where my memories get fuzzy 😭
i remember this one! i think it was something like tic tac toe [draw a tic tac toe board] give me an x, give me an o [self explanatory] give me a three in a row [draw three x's or o's in a row] line, line, number 9 [draw two lines with a 9 between them] double dot [two dots] electric shock! [grip their sides]
There’s always a great battle within me between my want to watch these most beautiful videos to the end and my speedily rising sleepiness. I love it. Usually the latter wins, but then the former gets revenge the next morning :)
This is definitely a new favorite, the tingles were sooooo good!! I remember doing other versions of these growing up and it was so nice to hear them again
Since you released this, the Treasure Island rhyme has become a frequent ritual between my 3yo daughter and me. She asks me to do it multiple times a day. I'm sure she is getting ASMR. Thanks for teaching me. It's lovely.
The rhyming was really soothing. I would love more of that in the context of fantasy prophecies or spell casting. I think I remember willow doing some of those.
Been listening to ASMR for 10+ years and your videos for a few years. I have continued to listen to ASMR as a relaxation tool with tingles being rare. I haven't had tingles like this in a very, very long time. This is wonderful. Thank you!
I love how little games like this have slightly different words based on the place. I can’t remember the whole rhyme but one part I do remember from my older sisters version is: “Cat scratch! Dog bite! Bird peck!” And “Spiders crawling up your back, attack! Attack! Blood running down your back, attack! Attack!” Lol it’s interesting to see how different the two versions are.
Definitely nice! I never did this as a kid, but I enjoyed it anyways. I think the first was my favorite, and the cake was a close second because it has such a good variety of sensations. I think thats the key, to keep it fresh. The kitten one made me smile though!
these brought back so many memories of doing back tracing with my friends when i was younger! not these games specifically, most of the time we’d try to guess what each other was writing on our backs or try to see how low we could go on each other’s backs without shivering/flinching. i got a spine surgery when i was 12 and haven’t been able to feel anything on my back since then, and i don’t really remember what sensation on my back feels like, so it was pretty interesting trying to remember what it felt like playing games like these back then... nevertheless!!! this was so tingly and nicely relaxing, the way u tell the stories is so immersive and the story of the kittens was soooo cute!! 🤍🤍 thank you for this!
You’re so coordinated to be able to do the actions and layered sounds at the same time! This is such a sweet idea- there are so many variations I’d never heard of before! Some-surprisingly spooky 👻 hehe! 😅😂 but still very relaxing!
Yayyyy! I kept replaying the short snippets of older videos where you did the tracing games. A whole video dedicated to it is such a treat! Thank you Erin!!
I have collected a whole playlist of these videos and yours is still my favourite! It’s cool how many versions there are, as a kid mine went; X marks the spot with a dot dot dot and a line and a line and a question mark, crack an egg on your head let the yolks run down let the whites run up, stab a knife in your back let the blood run down let the shivers run up, small pinch, big squeeze, cool country breeze now you've got the shiverees, spider goes up, rain comes down, spider goes up, rain comes down , spider goes up, rain comes down, and the snail goes around and around and around
I definitely remember enjoying these types of games as a kid a LOT and I'm sure a lot of other kids thought I was a weirdo for how often I wanted people to do them to me.
Surprisingly a handful of these randomly just became familiar the moment you started... amazing how long the brain can store things away then have them say "YO wassup" when their relevant to the moment
There are some Spanish ones my grandmother used to do on me when I was younger! The old viejita gathering wood was my favourite, but it was more on the arms than the back.
My grandma used to do one that was a ski hill. She would name all the different people doing down the hill and trace the different ski patterns down my back. This video was so nostalgic 💕
my mom used to play one of these with me! ours was growing a vegetable patch. you would till the soil, and make the rows, then planting the seeds and naming each type of veggie as you went, then covering the seeds with dirt, and then rain falling over them all and sunshine shining on them to help them grow TT u TT very good childhood memories indeed. these were great to listen to, thank you so much for sharing and triggering a lot of us in the best of ways.
That’s the one I was remembering! It was my favorite especially making the rows. I wonder where these came from
We did that one too, except it was called the strawberry patch cuz your arm would be red when its done lol
I didn't like it when my aunt used pinches for the planting, too strong!
That’s so cute 😭
OMG I PLAYED THIS WITH MY BROTHERS!!! EXACTLY!
The nostalgia on this was off the charts! My earliest ASMR experience as a kid (along with playing with hair) were these back tracing games.
Omg totally
Omg my friend was playing with my hair during choir the other day while our teacher was showing us a really pretty, atmospheric piece he thinks we might do. Needless to say I was in ASMR heaven

I adore this video. I’ve come back to it again and again. The tingles, the comfort, the joy. Just the best 🥰

One of the best ASMR videos I've seen.
It's quite rare that I finish the whole video or return back several times, but this managed to do that. Great!
I taught two of my little cousins the Treasure Island rhyme, and now it’s one of our favorite things to do when we see each other. Thanks for introducing us to this!
It's insane because I'm French and we had that first one pretty much exactly the same word for word :o
I don't remember it being a treasure island, but I distinctly remember the egg, the spiders, the dagger... crazy how these things travel :)
I would literally pay like $1000 just have have a twenty minute personalized ASMR session with you lol You and softlygaloshes are the most calming ASMRtists that I’ve had the pleasure of subbing to!
I would pay 2000 for you to touch grass
@@alfiedragon7075 Wow, thanks chief! That means I’ll have a twenty minute personalized ASMR session, have gone outside, *and* gotten $1000!
I'm sure she would be glad to help you out that way
softlygaloshes was my introduction to ASMR almost a decade ago, I still enjoy her videos to this day, plus Erin is who I'd consider the best and most effective creator in the genre, so it's pretty neat to see them together in a comment like this (even if it was a bit parasocial, lol).
This reminded me so much of when my mum used to read my sister and I bedtime stories that rhymed like that, it made me so badly want to go back to then, this made me feel sleepier than most other ASMR videos
Thank you so much Erin ☺️
I adore the one about the kittens so much, I find that one to be the most relaxing for me. Or perhaps the image is just too cute!
I also remembered part of one when I was a kid ;
Line, line, number nine.
Double dot, electric shock.
And that’s where my memories get fuzzy 😭
i remember this one! i think it was something like
tic tac toe [draw a tic tac toe board]
give me an x, give me an o [self explanatory]
give me a three in a row [draw three x's or o's in a row]
line, line, number 9 [draw two lines with a 9 between them]
double dot [two dots]
electric shock!
Spiders biting me.... Then stabs me in the back... Then a snake attacks. I'm clearly not having a good day lol
These were the first things to ever give me ASMR as a child!!
this is so comforting for no reason- i love this channel so much
Since you released this, the Treasure Island rhyme has become a frequent ritual between my 3yo daughter and me. She asks me to do it multiple times a day. I'm sure she is getting ASMR.
Thanks for teaching me. It's lovely.
Unlocking some old nerves and old memories with this video. Thank you.
Thank you!
I love how u change ur voice method on the "they bite you they bites you".. thats my favorite parts. I love this video
I never knew these existed! They're so cute❤
My sister and I just traced patterns or spelled out words on each others backs
I think we used to call these "backrub stories" when I was young - my sister's favorite was one where you make a pizza 🥰
I've loved back tracing since my childhood, so I'm especially excited for this video :D
I never really grew up with these tracing games , so this makes my inner child very very happy:)
I've seen this trigger several times over the years and I can't believe I didn't realize before how perfect it would be for you to do it someday
Who knew that dagger stabs, snake bites, spider bites and cat scratches could be so relaxing?
i always adore your autumn vibes in your videos!
this makes me feel so safe, so comfy. I love this : )
Definitely nice!
Everytime you do the snake attacks part it fills my heart with joy

Yayyyy! I kept replaying the short snippets of older videos where you did the tracing games. A whole video dedicated to it is such a treat! Thank you Erin!!
I have collected a whole playlist of these videos and yours is still my favourite! It’s cool how many versions there are, as a kid mine went;
X marks the spot with a dot dot dot and a line and a line and a question mark, crack an egg on your head let the yolks run down let the whites run up, stab a knife in your back let the blood run down let the shivers run up, small pinch, big squeeze, cool country breeze now you've got the shiverees, spider goes up, rain comes down, spider goes up, rain comes down , spider goes up, rain comes down, and the snail goes around and around and around
This is honestly the BEST asmr video I've watched
I definitely remember enjoying these types of games as a kid a LOT and I'm sure a lot of other kids thought I was a weirdo for how often I wanted people to do them to me.
Surprisingly a handful of these randomly just became familiar the moment you started... amazing how long the brain can store things away then have them say "YO wassup" when their relevant to the moment
This is perfect timing for me! I loved these games as a kid I would always get so many tingles instantly
I haven’t heard these in years. Brought back a lot of memories!
Erin: “spiders crawling up your back, _they bite you! they bite you!”_
Me: 😌🥱😴
Love visual triggers, especially tracing, especially from Erin. The perfect mix 😌
This brings it ALL BACK fam \o/ thanks for being so innately pleasant. It made my evening so much lighter :)
most of the others i’ve heard have been mostly similar to the one i know, but yours was SO DIFFERENT!!! i didn’t expect it
There are some Spanish ones my grandmother used to do on me when I was younger! The old viejita gathering wood was my favourite, but it was more on the arms than the back.
My grandma used to do one that was a ski hill. She would name all the different people doing down the hill and trace the different ski patterns down my back. This video was so nostalgic 💕
