There’s only one animal that is more destructive to the environment than a beaver and that’s a human being 🤣. I saw a hunting cabin a beaver had scratched and chewed the rough wood siding. The first beaver dam I saw it was hard to believe how much damage the little critters can do in a short period of time. You are doing an awesome job with all your skills this senior lady is very proud of you. Take care and God bless. Try to get some rest on this vacation.

Here in Virginia we destroy beaver dams to get them to move to a different location. They cause issues when they are in populated areas. We have professional trappers that catch them alive and relocate them. I totally understand why you do your job and you are good at it

At Toledo Bend the beavers came onshore and destroyed 3 Satsuma trees. They wreak havoc on your trees and those shoreline trees hold the soil and protect the shore against erosion.

I don’t know if Robars are still available. I last wore them more than 40 years ago. Thus your mention of Lite Boots got my attention. Great video. Never seen beaver trapping on anything. Appreciate you explaining how you trap. The why is self explanatory. Beaver create a lot of damage in the wrong place. Then there are the swamp rats or nutria. Do you trap those animals? Even in Oregon, the tree hugger capital, then is open season on them. They cause all kinds of problems that damages the agriculture in the Willamette Valley. If you are allowed by UA-cam to say, what do you do with the beavers after they are trapped? There are several youtube channels dedicated to showing beaver dam damage, pulling down the dams with equipment as large as backhoes, and showing the aftermath. Even before humans walked the Earth, beavers have changed the courses of streams and rivers, changing the environment and landscape of the world.

Dear sir, I am not too dumb or stupid to understand. But I can't understand something I don't know anything about. I am simply uninformed. This is the first time I've had the time to sit down and see a video that actually explained and showed the damage. I am one of those that thought, what in the world is those poor, cute, innocent little beavers doing so wrong besides living. I'm a busy woman cleaning houses, managing multiple people's health and household affairs, babysitting grandkids, learning about G-d. I don't have time to watch a bunch of videos about every animal, what's good and bad about them. But my husband does. He just don't get the time, nor remember to tell me all this stuff. That doesn't make me too dumb to understand. So thank you for explaining and showing. The one thing I did understand was like you said about rats. I understand certain animals can become too numerous and threaten the balance of the ecosystem. I'm just not always aware of all of it happening like I am with bedbugs, roaches, mice, ants, etc., because I don't live off out in the country. And I do definitely understand the frustration that comes with ignorant, uninformed people trying to tell you how to do your job and live your life. THAT, I get. Because that happens to me too. And I do snap from time to time. There are those out there who don't want to understand, the willfully ignorant. You can explain and show every minute every day and it makes no difference. They don't care. I run across that everyday in almost every person in some way, shape or form about something. Their mind is closed like a steel trap about something to greater or lesser degrees. I admit I'm that way too from time to time. But I thank you for what you do. I'm sorry there are ignorant people who don't live your life and do your job, telling you how to do it. Thank you for explaining it to those of us who do want to understand.
I watch another UA-camr channel called Post10 and he goes up around the New England area clearing culverts that beavers dam. He does this because the beavers cause roads to flood and eventually they get washed away causing thousands in damages. So I totally agree with your reason for trapping them.

People may not like you beaver trapping but it is necessary, they are after all rodents. The levy is important to maintain as the flooding and rebuild as you said costs $1000’s. The meat can be eaten and tastes really good and of course the pelts can be used too. People like yourself, this is your livelihood and people should respect that. Keep up the good work.
