Oh no no feel better, I get them too, really strong with a visual aura quite regularly (menopause😠). Also the fatigue, that tea looks interesting I will have to try it, I do love a good herbal tea. The misfit thing yes here, always, just never really feeling like I fit in whereever I have worked and also not understanding why I need to. Why can't we be pleasant and friendly but not fit any particular mould? The world doesn't like though, does it? Take care and have a good rest.

This video is now officially required viewing for the next person who says, "I'd love to be an artist, to just relax and paint all day instead of my day job." The amount of work and organization it takes to run a studio is like a whole second (or third) job in addition to actually making art, and small things can easily disrupt the workflow. One of our favorite things about this channel is the peek inside the studio- well organized supplies, paint tubes hanging on their clips just waiting to be useful makes us smile!

You're not a miss fit, you're the exception with many gifts.
I too, thought this for years, even from my childhood. As I grew, matured, I realized being gifted as an Artist from my birth I was meant to be different, to be able to take in all the inspiration from life.
To be sensitive to nature, people, animals ,colors and light and dark.
    To be able to create.
A fellow Artist of 73 years

Whenever I think about being a misfit, I remember the Island of Misfit Toys from a Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer claymation video from my childhood. Each misfit had a great strength that made it unique and valuable. Our uniqueness is what makes us wonderful. Wendy, you are so wonderful!!!
    Thank you.

Love that you are among the tribe of us HSP’s (Highly Sensitive People) which almost every artist, musician, etc.is. It’s a gift mostly-but requires good boundary setting and lots of self care and awareness. Be gentle with yourself, “sip life slowly” as my spiritual advisors says,”don’t feed yourself the toxins of the world but replenish yourself with nature, music, art, home life, and dear ones”…blessings dear Wendy!

Dear Wendy, I found your channel just a few weeks ago and you immediately touched my soul. As far as misfits go, I realized some time ago that although I can smile and be nice and get along with people, enjoy their company and stories and even share some of myself, I don't feel that our worlds are really the same. They choose to live in the world they create, but I know that there is more. Many of us are more comfortable living in the borders, which are rich with the colors and sounds of all worlds, woven into a lovely tapestry of life. I hope that makes sense.

I think I have always had a feeling of being a bit 'outside' . Now - at 69 - I am happy to feel this way!! I think its a case of not having totally given up ones true self to 'domestication' as Juan Miguel Ruiz calls it! These recent times have served to make me happy to be me and stand in my truth [ whilst also tolerating those of others}.
It takes time to break free from the shackles of domestication.
Be happy and know that you are blessed! Jules

You've made me cry! I've always felt an 'outsider' despite a successful career; just always on the outside looking in, always searching for some kind of direction in my life which will bring me joy. Heading for 60 in a few weeks time which makes me feel very old. Glad that you're finding a sense of contentment; you are such a talented lady with so much to give. As a fellow "outsider" I realised that we have the opportunity to view life as a director does a film, and we can "write our own ending" (quoting The Rainbow Connection from the Muppet Movie). I hope you find ways to "Sparkle at 60", and find joy. Sending gentle hugs and positive energy your way.

Well thanks to you Wendy I'm not feeling a misfit either. At a writing group last week I said something about not feeling old and heard a younger woman - (I'm a young 82) - say "shall we tell her she is"
well every time I stand up on my creaky knees I have no doubt I am. But then on the beach here I met a wonderful man who is a movie star but trying to be incognito, and we talked about 2 hr
about everything under the sun, 😊 and he told me how much he enjoyed us, as did I.
So now I am very happy .

I never fitted in anywhere, so I know what you mean. Even my Mother thought that I had come from somewhere outer worldly! I have had some premonitions in the past that came true. I am a very intuitive person, and very sensitive, like yourself, which can make life a struggle at times. I live on my own with my dog, and only ever go out to walk her. My anxiety has been bad these last 5 years, but I am working on it! Had to sell the car, as I never went out in it, and I live in an isolated spot, which I love. Do not know how things are going to go forward, but I enjoy and live each day as it comes. Thank you for your inspiring videos. Blessings to you and your loved ones fro Devon, England. xxxx

Yes financial chaos, as rich get richer and poor get poorer.
I think as you get older people tend to accept who they are, and feel OK with who they are. I always knew I was different, and I am, and I feel OK with it. Took 50+ years but got there.
I wondered if you would do an autumnal piece this month. I love autumn and autumn colours. Maybe one of your little paintings with fairies and text.

    Lovely video, as always.
I am not a napper, but a rester. I have some sleep disorders and if I take a nap, I won’t sleep well at night, so I rest a bit when I’m tired, by looking at the window, sitting on my rocking chair or on my sofa, or I just have a conversation with my plants 😊.
I feel like a misfit. People keep telling me how strange, and different, and peculiar, and eccentric I am. And I don’t know anyone like me, so I tend to be almost always alone, because I feel I don’t belong anywhere. It seems everybody is “normal” and I am not, because I like old things, because I stitch, because I make books of old books falling apart, because I still like dolls and stuffed animals, because I like to get up early and I don’t like to go out at night, or even for the simplest things as not driving!
Now that I have instagram for a year, I feel that there are people like me, but they are so far away and I will never meet them, so I go on feeling a misfit...
Thanks for keeping me company. Love, light, blessings and peace 💙🧡💚💗💜♥️💛❤️

You are an empath! I am too! You are just a sponge soaking up everyone else’s emotions. It helps when you are overwhelmed after being in a crowd to ask yourself if these emotions even belong to you. Sometimes they don’t and you can turn them loose! It’s a true relief! You wind up less overwhelmed, and with less of a headache, and you feel much lighter. We only need to own our own stuff! Not everyone else’s.

I have been really struggling with accepting my own neurodivergence and the crushing sense of "otherness" that often accompanies it. The decision over whether or not to seek formal diagnosis, especially at my age, struggling to find the courage to ask for accommodation when needed, wrestling with stigma and my own internalized ableism, all make me feel like an outsider, a misfit. I have to constantly remind myself I do in fact belong. I appreciate your videos, and especially your fairies. Your style and subject matter and approach are so drastically different than mine, and that's what I love about you. Your embrace of the different and quirky and wonderful is like a guiding light for other lost lonely creatives. For me your videos have gently brought me back to my art practice, reminded me to treat myself gently, as well as treat myself as a professional, and reaffirmed that I do indeed belong. Thank you for using your lovely voice to inspire and comfort.

Are we misfits, or are we quirky and unique individuals, who stand out from the crowd? Hmmmm.
Like you, I used to be affected by the energy of those around, and would get "drained". I have found that by withdrawing just enough (picture being in a soap bubble floating near), I can be present without feeling overwhelmed by negative energy.
If napping is not working, perhaps ten minute meditation breaks, lying down with legs up the wall, or visualising being re-energized by tapping into the Earth's or the universe's energy may work for you.
Sending soothing energy to help with headaches, dreams, and filling that cup. And extra soft gentle hugs, to tide you over until you can get your fill of in-person hugs from James. Love and light always. Thank you for reminding each of us that we are part of a lovely community.

I always instinctively reach out to people in the outdoor world. A Smile, a Good morning, perhaps a supportive or happy comment if applicable. I know the world is a mess and unfairly high-tech, and there's more and more people affecting demand and supply.....but I put my Pink Sunglasses on every morning. I always want to see the beauty before the dirt. Balance is the key. One must try to stay in balance. If you can't fix it then leave it alone. Acceptance is empowering. It immediately eliminates stress or worry. Forgiveness is another powerful mindset. All three work together for a happier you with a purpose. So no doubt I have gravitated to your channel. I thank you so much for popping up on my device. I love you're honesty and transparency, you're creative spirit which only people with these traits embrace. I'm 72 but feel 50. Never lose the child within. Childhood is the magical foundation as we age. So here's to you and James. May we always enjoy lifes little treasures till the end. God bless

Dear sweet lady, oh i could relate to what you said on this video. Trying not to start the day grumpy......i am of the same mindset. Hubby and i have been together 53 years, in us getting older, we sometimes get annoyed with one another, and if i get an attitude it was over a gripe or a criticizm he aims my direction and i usually add my 2 cents. I dont like where he wants to go through icebox, or pantry but in reality its his junk papers, misc junk i wish he would sort out and get old papers not needed to be tossed. Thats not what he ever wants to deal with.....and as far as hes concerned there is nothing, no job he needs to address, in his mind.
I dont assign him a job, mainly cause as he has gotten older i figure its up to him, cause as my own self i do not want him telling me what i need to do.
We are both retired, he pops up in my space often, as he cant seem to be 100% involved in whatever he has/had been doing. Keeping my inside mellow, i try not to start any conversation that can turn into him being in a bad mood or angry....so i enjoy if things can stay mellow. I can relate.
Love your videos and all of your thoughts and what you share......have a lovely day!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Taking a book to a cosy chair was my favourite indulgence when I was younger. Not the same now - last time I went to bed with a book, I fell asleep and the iPad dropped on my face and I ended up with a black bruise under my eye. It is a hard time for many around the world - my fondest wish is that all find a safe and warm home for the winter. Well wishes to you in finding your woodland home - I bet you would fill it with beautiful art.

I am who I am and I am a creative, you see creatives feel much more strongly than average people and guess what we are not average! I will keep shining my light and living my life the way I want to. Hello Wendy! You’re such a sweet and beautiful person that I seriously doubt you’ve ever been a misfit! There are a lot of mean people in society trying to convince us that we’re the ones with the problem when they need a big glance in the mirror.
And when people are breaking traffic laws and being rude I call the police to come explain to them the traffic laws. I suffered with migraines for decades and found that Excedrin Migraine works the best, if you’re willing to take meds. Wishing you much love, happiness, & health in the coming week!

Dear Wendy, what a beautiful soul you are. I hope you are fully recovered from your migraine. xx Edit to add: thank you for mentioning the stuff about soaking in other people's emotions and being at peace on your own. This is totally me. I'm like an emotional sponge for other people's states of minds, energies etc. It can be quite wearing and comes with a whole host of other concerns you need to contend with. I used to think I had to, somehow, deal with it all, but I've come to realise that, actually, I don't. Consequence of my childhood, I think.

You have gorgeous moments of being grounded and centered. You radiate that in this video. Whatever you did leading up to this video is working. Hope you’re navigating peri menopause with grace. I had been having soo many symptoms. Brain fog and low energy were the ones that I had been enduring. Low libido too. I went to a female gynecologist and she tested my hormones. I was super low in testosterone. I’ve been taking a cream to help that she prescribed. It’s a miracle. My head is clear, my energy is going up, and me and hubby are feeling a new spark after years of not.
Thought about you, thought I’d mention in the case it would help. Thx for being you on camera and sharing with the world. I’m inspired by beautiful souls like yours! Sensitive artist introvert empaths unite!! 😂big hugs

Hi Wendy, I've been away for a bit getting a hip remodeled with a new joint and then breaking my right shoulder with a stupid fall. Oh my, it has been a a mess this summer, but for me, at least, it is sort of winding down and hopefully soon to end. I'm in love with Autumns so for the next 3 months prior to the Winter Solstice, I shall enjoy every minute of this season. I feel so lucky to be able to watch Fall as so many things change and you can watch and experience all of this happening every day. Some days feel sad (seeing the very last leaves fall), some joyous like the very fresh cool air, and some feel cozy wonderful such as wrapping up in your favorite, overly large, sweater or blanket, and then writing a little poem.
You are not a misfit! To me you are adorable, interesting, knowledgeable, artistic, cool, sweet and caring, in love with James, and our self help guru.We all love you!
Do you use or wear crystals? I have been delving into and collecting, finding, buying crystals and using crystals for over 30 years. I love them and learning of newer crystals (like Shungite-recently found in China). All black stones have the benefit of protection to the user/wearer which is their most universal quality.
I've been jumping around a lot in this comment but one more thing, I so enjoy your lovely paintings and especially all the fairies as I am a fairy lover with a fairy garden and fairies in many places within my home . I hope to paint a fairy scene of my own some time. XOXOJANE
