I didn't know I had this until now. Having to take a nap after chores/grocery shopping just to get enough energy to finish the day. Also, the part where I'm sleeping the recommended times and still waking up exhausted. Thank you! I'll look into filing a claim for this.
Amazing info! I've had it in my records since desert storm, I ended up serving 22 years. I retired in 2007. Ever since I retired, when I addressed it with the VA doctors, they always have dismissed it completely, or said it was for some other reason, i.e. age, weight gain, mixed sleep apnea, or laziness. The reality is that I have to shut down every day for about 3 hours, to build up the enertia to finish the day out. If I don't I literally have the energy and mental abilities of someone that has not rested for 24 hours or so. I'm not sure where to go from here, but this has encouraged me to try, rather than accept their dismissal. Fortunately it has been documented by military doctors several times while serving. Thank you!
Hey Jordan great Video. I was hoping you was gonna also explain how tough this is to get diagnosed, because there is no test for CFS. They basically want to exclude a bunch of other possibilities, the problem is you probably did gain weight from this conditions over the years which can lead to sleep apnea, Migraines, you probably will have some sort of mental condition they want you to exclude first, having the right doctor is paramount and they will probably send you to a rheumatologist for your joint discomfort. Hopefully the doctor is familiar with CFS and feels comfortable to put it all together for you as CFS and not just brush it off as one of these other conditions
@joypressley4821 Hey I never even knew anything about CFS I did a HLR for a total different thing and when they sent me the paperwork for my C&P exam that's when I seen the CFS.. I had no idea what that was. I think it's a part of the pact act claim but I'm happy they gave it to me.
I start terminal in >30 days. I mentioned to my C&P examiner that my pulmonologist was continuing my diagnosis for chronic fatigue. She said that I wouldn’t want to be diagnosed for that. No reason given. She has Narcolepsy and I have hypersomnia with a prescribed CPAP, so there was some sort of bonding.
For chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, narcolepsy, and insomnia, you should get tested and try Modafinil and atomoxitine. See a sleep doctor and psychiatrist and psychologist. You may also have sleep APNEA. Toxic exposure causes many problems over decades. Mental problems or neurological problems are very common. PFAS causes all these problems. Get your blood tested.
Im almost certain i qualify 100% for this. I just never knew this was a thing. I thought my brain was just degrading. I experience the 100% criteria daily. What rediculous is i mentioned these symptoms to my VA doctors and they never mentioned this was a potential medical condition.
Its crazy i had stress fracture in my legs, that nearly make me not want to do anything, affect my sleep, i dont want to go any leg workouts or run because i get worried, i plan my vacations around them and yet somehow i am only 10 percent. I dont get it.
If I deployed on an aircraft carrier to south east Asia on 2 deployments does that can’t as PACT ACT? It’s been hard to get my primary doc to diagnosis me or talk about chronic fatigue syndrome
I have chronic fatigue but I don't know how to prove it. I do not qualify for the pact act but I did go out to the Pursian gulf multiple times. I am also rated for PTSD. Can I just go to my Primary care to discuss this or can I just file a claim under my PTSD?
You need to get a diagnosis. I am 60% CFS and it took my doctors years to prove all the things my CFS was not. Like all the other things were ruled out.
A primary care doctor can. But usually they may send you to specialists to rule out other potential conditions first, for example they may send you to an endocrine specialist to rule out low T, a neurologist to run some tests there, a Rheumatologist, then if none of them find another diagnosis, then you may get slapped with chronic fatigue syndrome
Denied! Although your VA exam shows that you meet criteria B and C as listed above, you do not meet criteria A as your fatigue has not reduced your daily activity level to less than 50 percent of preillness level. Without all three criteria being met, a diagnosis of chronic fatigue syndrome for VA purposes cannot be conceded. That's despite telling the doctor that I"m, at most, 25% of where I was prior to the war. Can you help me?
You can get special monthly compensation and others above 100%. also if you die due to one of your SVC connected conditions your family may qualify for DIC. many benefits available do your own research.

Yeah I filed for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and got 60% for it. I was shocked.
How’d you do. With what supporting docs?
Were you diagnosed with CFS prior to filing your pact act claim?
how'd you do it ma'am?
60% as well, I was pretty stunned. It put me on the path to 100% P&T‼️
@@anthonyt.goodwin6591did you have a diagnosis? Or did you just add it on the VA website for a claim ?

Same here. I have told VA Docs for decades and I get dismissed as well.
You’re not 100% overall yet??
@teeybannister only 60, sleep apnea and knees. Was afraid if I resubmitted I might lose what I had.

Most doctors do blow you off about this!Cfs

As always, another awesome video 👍🏼I'm at 70% for combat ptsd from the desert storm gulf war, and was planning to file for Chronic fatigue.
This video is right up your alley Carlos, many desert storm vets are in a similar situation
@carlostomas1917, did you receive your decision yet?
Got to admit brother your videos are fire
Finally hit 100% thanks to VA claims Academy🎉
I got 60% for CFSv and never even filled for it. I did a HLR for a total different condition went to my C&MP exam and they gave me CFS.
Did you have a diagnosis for chronic fatigue? That's amazing I'm so glad you got it !

Thanks for the video, I submitted my claim for this after watching. Gulf War vet (PTSD,sleep apnea)
Nice Ivan! Time to hurry up and wait. Hope it turns out well for you on the very first time.

You need to have a diagnosis before c and p exam from your doctor. Same for all conditions. do not expect c and p examiner to give you a diagnosis.

you need a diagnosis from a doctor before you claim it.
Great information . Just sent that to my VSO!
Thank you Jordan

im at 70% with PTSD, i would say i have chronic back pain and fatigue. I just don’t know how i would start my process for filing.
Does chronic fatigue syndrome fall under 38 CFR 3.317 or 3.309? My VSO argued me down that it fell under 3.309.
Is a Chronic Fatigue Syndrome rating limited exclusively to post- Gulf war veterans?
If I deployed on an aircraft carrier to south east Asia on 2 deployments does that can’t as PACT ACT? It’s been hard to get my primary doc to diagnosis me or talk about chronic fatigue syndrome
Check the eligibility list on Va.gov Google search “PACT act eligibility”

Great information appreciate all the help. I emailed your websites email yesterday. Will someone answer? Looking to sign soon.
You bet, back in the office Monday
Can I get it as a secondary condition to A heart condition that causes fatigue ??
What kind of doctor do I need for a Nexus letter since this is not Mental Health related? 😊
Are there presumptives for participation in a TERA?
no TERA is still a mess

I was wondering this as well 🤔
