Written in 1928 to commemorate 50 years as a conductor, this often-forgotten Sousa march is joyous and uplifting. In duple time, this quick-step is a welcome addition to any traditional band concert, inside or out. Clearly edited with all original nuances marked.

So it's been just over 95 years since the original march was written. If I recall correctly, Frederick Fennell was an avid fan of Sousa, as well as other great composers back then, like Percy Grainger. It's great to hear a march edited by one of the greatest conductors to have ever taken the podium, and it's a march to celebrate one of the greatest American composers in history. Wow. Very catchy piece!! :)
Great piece, I enjoy the swift speed. Almost felt like those 8 note runs were 16th notes. Shew!

Pretty sure it’s in cut time, so everything is cut in half value wise
