  • It happens, when you lie so much, that forget to whom you lied and what exactly.
Kremlin propagandists got lost in their own manipulations.
Now they say they fight against the whole world.
And report about successful attacks on... "cocaine centre"...

It was to monitor human right violations and you can imagine how popular that was with the Kremlin. It was shut down in 2021 under new rules and pressure that it would be identified as a “foreign agent “. It is said that Putin fears Russian mothers more than he fears political opponents.

They could have taken the help at no loss to secrets, but the Soviet mindset killed them.

I want Australia to send troops to the Ukraine if it comes to a bigger "situation". I can't put Morrison in the same boat as Putin, but he is far closer to him than Zelenskyy with regards to being an autocrat & elitist! I have to get all my news re Ukraine via UA-cam. Our news in Australia may mention a 10sec tidbit. It's disgusting. We may be on the other side of the world, but we are all human beings & when a country is trying to eliminate the freedom & basic human rights of another country, then we should know & do our best to help stop it!

I learned, at a young age, that keeping up with a lie was impossible and not worth the humiliation when your lie inevitably falls apart. But, shame and embarrassment have always worked wonders, for me. I would do _anything_ to avoid that, if I could, and that includes _never_ lying.
Unfortunately, being honest, all the time, has NOT worked out how I thought it would. It doesn't fit well with society. It often causes more trouble and it's taken me decades to get over how unfair that, and life, is. The only good thing, is that at least _I_ know I'm not a liar. And that _does_ feel pretty good.

    • @TrineDaely
      @TrineDaely 2 роки тому

Yes, it's too much to remember when talking about big lies. White lies are the oil that keeps the cogs of society moving (Heinlein said that, if memory serves), such as saying "Fine," when someone asks how you are.
I'm a fairly blunt person, and it took me until my 20s or 30s to figure out a degree of tact, i.e. instead of saying "Yes, that makes you look fat," saying "I think this one would look better." It's not a lie if it's your honest opinion, but it's not a factual nuke either. But even shifts like those require a higher awareness, a leash on my unfiltered immediate response, making several internal gear shifts, and a longer thought process on my part, which can get exhausting quickly, so I don't go this route often for people other than my kid. Instead if I'm pretty sure someone asking me a question will not be happy with what I say, I just tell them "Don't ask me a question if you don't want my honest opinion."
Amazing how many people stopped asking me questions.

I'd rather tell the truth. For that people are calling me stupid or good guy (in a pejorative manner).

May sound absurd, but something similar actually happened and it was in the US in the 1920's. Anyway, what Putin doesn't seem to realize is that propaganda doesn't win wars, it makes them longer, crueler and riskier in terms of possible world war escalation due to desperation to keep the narrative alive and scapegoat hunting when things don't go according to plan but if you don't have the muscles to back the words, ultimately the truth will start fighting back and eventually win.

It is humiliating for Russians to see their army cannot defeat such a smaller, underfunded and theoretically far weaker armed force like Ukraine, let alone NATO. This defeat is going to be far worse for them when they realise that NATO didn't even send troops or provide air cover or naval blockades or apply any of their real world force. The issue really has been Russia's government and perhaps many of the people too had an inflated idea of their importance and strength in the world. Politically, military and their economy. They genuinely believe they are rebuilt to some kind of military and economic superpower. They crazily think they are peer competitors to the USA and China and that's their rightful place. When the harsh truth that is now being exposed is that economically they are still weak and their military core remains a lot of trash. Size does not mean strength. The sooner they accept their reduced status in the world the better everyone in Russia will live. A bit of humility will go a long way on this matter.

      @racheldobbs2028 2 роки тому +1

exactly but I doubt that they'll engage in any self reflection and humility in regards to that, at least in the foreseeable future. It's pathetic honestly. They've created these crazy lies around themselves, these delusions and it's falling apart. Much of the world believed for a very long time that Russia was a great power---that their military was a great power and in just two months, they've become a laughing stock in so far as it's being shown on the world stage that they aren't. I'm not a military expert but I have been reading what military experts are saying about the Russian military and they've torn it apart bit by bit as this war has gone on.
Even with my own non expert eyes--I can at least infer that they aren't acting like a professional army so much as an army of murderous thugs who are using their time more destroying infrastructure, apartments, houses, schools, churches, businesses, and other civilian targets, looting, raping women and girls, murdering people, and committing other war crimes including using very expensive weapons again on--regular civilian targets too.
When they're up against the actual Ukrainian army, they're getting their ass whipped or at the very least, are definitely in for a fight. Sure, the Ukrainians have had their share of losses, no doubt about that but they're proving that they're at least a match using a lot of the same soviet era crap against them along with a lot of NATO gifts and yes, it's those NATO gifts that has definitely helped leveled things out like the javelins, NLAWS, stingers, etc and now with more NATO gifts coming in, we'll hope to see more.
Russia has eaten their own propaganda for so many decades and frankly this goes back well into Soviet times, maybe even further back than that with the whole Russian World idea, etc that it's going to take many years, if not decades to maybe "deprogram" perhaps on a scale not seen since after WWII with the project done in Germany to literally denazify the country.
The truth is too hard for Russia to admit. They aren't fighting NATO as you've pointed out. No NATO forces. No NATO air cover. NATO gifts in Ukrainian hands yes but it's all Ukrainian boots with some foreign volunteers who've come to help fight side by side but fighting under Ukraine's banner. It's all Ukraine and God bless them.
For so long Russia has and continues to treat Ukraine as nothing, not a real country, not a real people, not a real culture. Just another part of Russia, easily absorbed, and easily wiped out. But their pride is too much for them and that is a fear, a real concern and one I know that many are watching--aka the whole cornered bear thing--lashing out.
Perhaps in time they will come to see the truth. There are some in Russia who do but it's an uphill slog to fight against that kind of propaganda and anti-truth machine that Russia has.

@@racheldobbs2028 This kind of overreaching and superpower syndrome has been seen the world over for centuries. It is not new or exclusively Russian, although they do have certain psychological aspects that makes then predisposed to it. A good example is post war Britain, the Suez crisis of 1956. Britain was flat broke, the quality of living was bad and it still thought it should retain an empire and project global influence. The ruling elites failed to realise the new order of power flow on the planet and as a result Britain suffered a heavy defeat and final recognition it was no longer a superpower. It could not dictate to other nations even neighbors their future. The people and government eventually accepted this reality. They adjusted, pivoted in a new direction and after many decades prospered again. Russia however still appears to have not gone through this process. Although the fall of the USSR was a severe blow far beyond that of even Suez to Britain, a savior complex remained and Russia feels it is being denied a rightful place at the top table. It disengaged its failure from the Soviet Union. It has not earned a place back yet, that much was evident looking at its economy, barely larger than South Korea's, a tiny nation with a small population. It COULD eventually be a very strong power again. Decades of reform and good governance with the resources they have could make them a great power. But not now. Not with this government from the past 20 years and these corrupt politics and economics. Perhaps Russia needs a serious defeat in Ukraine more than they themselves realise. A final acceptance of new realities and a reset might be the best thing that ever happened to Russia.

She turns to Speer, played by Rutger Hauer, and asks, "Why are they doing this to us?" My mind immediately went, "Warsaw, Rotterdam, Belgrade, London, Coventry, ..." This belief in their own propaganda strikes me the same way.

I think Putin kept feeding them lies and gradually took out their freedom until the point of no return. Nowadays, I don't think it even matters what they believe in anymore. The Russians live at gunpoint - one wrong word and they're going to jail. They let it happen.
I think it also happens in the West, though. Most recently, how Trump and then Biden retreated from Afghanistan (all their allies screamed: nooo!), or how Bush Jr. lied to invade Iraq the 2nd time (their allies screamed: nooo!). It's what happens when you've got 1 person in charge of an army and with too many executive powers. They can do whatever they want, and just make it up as they go. They've got no accountability, either; I mean, Biden is still in power, and Bush Jr. and PM Brown are still maintaining they'd do the same thing all over again. There's nobody who holds such people accountable, either - maybe because it's too shameful? It sets the stage for repeats, though - the next commander in chief can do the same thing all over again.

Russia claims that the ship was severely damaged because of a fire that broke out on board, and that caused its own ammunition to explode. While towing it towards Crimea, it allegedly sank in a storm.
#1 Why aren't their sailors trained well enough to handle a fire?
#2 There was no storm in the region at that time.
#3 Curiously they have this need to retaliate 🤔. For what? Their own incompetence?
(Like "We screwed up, and it's Ukraines fault 😭". )
They are also incapable of lying in a plausible manor.
Russian leadership is learning its hardest lesson now. Realizing that warfare in the digital era, with satellite photos reaching around the globe in minutes or hour, it's impossible to conduct war crimes or spread lies without being called out at every turn.

I cannot express how impressive of a feat was the sinking of the cruiser Moscova.

so when you want to see, things are like this ...
Gunter Prim, with the submarine U-47, entered Scapa Flo and sank the Royal Oak, with 830 sailors in 13 minutes, and the most beautiful thing is that your admirals found out what happened to them, only after 3 days, when they heard on German radio, the solemn reception of U-47, in the port of Kill ... So, you didn't even know how the ship sank, because you were smart and you thought that you had safety with networks and patrol boats ...
What happened to Bismarck, when he sank those ships ... In April 1982, you had some problems with Argentine bombs and the destroyers Sheffield, Coventry etc ... sank.
You forgot, Luftwafe above Loncon, Coventry etc, in WW II ...
You also had some problems in Singapore, with the Japanese, so they captured your whole army, drowned ...

Russia should be thankful that they aren't NATO forces, otherwise they would be in Moscow. It's hard to fathom that most of the population has this belief that there doing Ukraine a favour

@@onlyhereforddebob8978 Joe Biden and NATO are using the alien mind control technology from the captured UFOs in Area 51 in combined operations with Military Psyops and targeted propaganda to force Vladimir Putin; Universally Renown Humanitarian and Philanthropist, Builder of Cities; to invade and attack Ukraine, humiliate and destroy the Russian army, crush the Russian economy, commit war crimes against helpless civilians, threaten nuclear weapons, and even destroy Russia itself. This is obviously all Joe Biden's and NATO's fault. Putin is the victim of this conspiracy, they are obviously controlling Putin like a robot suicide drone.

@@onlyhereforddebob8978 I was a young adult when the Kremlin sent its troops to Afghanistan and no-one actually thought their ten years of occupation was any favour to Afghanistan. Nor when Russian pilots dropped Russian chemical bombs on Iraqi Kurds from Russian planes, to show Chemical Ali and Saddam how to do it, nobody thought that much of a favour. Nor when Putin reduced helped Syria’s own tyrant by bombing Aleppo to rubble.

@@onlyhereforddebob8978 It is comical how you guys always talk about “the west” as if all those people in all those countries on different continents are a single head with one brain and one thought in that brain. Do you think the whole world is organised like Russia, where one little kleptocrat decides what everyone else is allowed to think, see and say?
