First LCAC's where deployed in 1987 in the pacific on the USS Germantown LSD 42 for the first time. LCAC 1-4 where also transported from Florida on the USS Germantown threw the Panama canal. The USS Germantown was deployed and stationed in Japan 2 times for a total of 18 years supporting LCAC's and Marines deployed in Asia.
