I thought I had a ton of onions. I guess not. I did a 80 ft triple row of softball sized onions at 8 inch spacing. Red zeplin, Redwing and Spanish yellow. We tried shallots but only grew a few. Next year we are doing shallots for sure.
@@pipbuster I planted the green onion transplants by hand through plastic mulch and drip strip irrigation.. I went to dixondale farms. You can put in your zip code and it narrows down the varieties that work in your area and the plant dates for your zip code. The key to big onions is green transplants and planting at the right time which is going to be early.
braided onion, shallots, garlic, with some dried herbs braided into it. it's worth even more and sells well around end of the season.

Did you plant using the paper pot planter and if you did, did you plant onion seeds, or onion starters (look like green onions)???
