I love seeing your prodcast beacuse it reflects how I am with my cousin and it’s sooo fun to see you and Sundus and especially when you guyz say people might not understand what we are saying or doing but trust me I can totally relate. I'm not sure how things work in Shia-ism... but in Islam, you need a "wali" for the girl to get married.. along with the girl's consent ofcourse... (Wali is her father, But if he's not available, any uncle can take the role of a wali... )
As far as the nikah being performed, yes, anyone can perform the nikah as long as they know the proper way of doing it (according to Sunnah of Rasullulah peace be upon him)..
