alcohol is sometimes referred to as spirits so when she says „your house is haunted“ she means that the dad is an alcoholic and that’s why hes always mad
im DEAD crying omg?? i always thought it was how spirits can cause anger and that's what a child would revert to first instead of thinking a person was abusive
@amybouris9993 I also love how it seemed like he did not expect the beat to actually continue so he did not really know what to rap about until she actually started. Tbh, even tho it is one my favorite easily, I too sometimes expect her to start earlier😅
‘Peace’ is honestly one of her saddest songs. It was written when Taylor and Joe Alwyn were in a relationship. And the song talks about society saying their romance is fake but Taylor believing in the relationship, “All these people think love's for show, But I would die for you in secret”, and questioning if her partner would stay with her knowing they would never have peace. It also talks about starting a family and wanting to get married. “ Give you my wild, give you a child…Family that I chose, now that I see your brother as my brother”. I have always interpreted the first part as never being left alone by the media and paparazzi. All of Taylor’s relationships have been called a publicity stunt at some point. Joe Alwyn is also known to be a very private person and didn’t like being seen in public with Taylor. In the end they broke up in 2023 after being together for 6 years. Every time I listen to the song it reminds me that, it wasn’t enough and peace won.
Yea TTPD is gonna wreck him. Although for maximum impact he will need some context (JA break up and then the whole MH of it all) TTPD is a great one to do in a live w Swifties bc the Tay-Lore makes it hit harder.
“Album release night” bro we had less than a day to prepare. She announced this the morning it dropped. In the middle of the pandemic no less.😭😭 we had no idea what we were in for.
no literally, when she announced it i was going away for my trip and then i was like WHEN TF I CAN LISTEN TO THIS THAT IM HIKING”. and then i cried while hiking.
Jaxson, from one man to another, never lose that sensitive side. It keeps things real and will help you in the future. I’m the same way and still tear up to many of Ts songs.
Exactly!!! Some guys try to say men can’t show emotion in front of a woman or she’ll think you’re a weak man, but as a grown woman (with tons of grown women friends) that’s like the bravest shit a man can do…show emotion.
Definitively the biggest success story of every channel that decided to do Taylor reactions. There's a lot of people doing that these days but this guy truly hit the jackpot.
sameeee I was like: well, must be different in the US then, thats fine😂 it‘s the worst when it rained and my bike is just sliding left and right They look cute through, so I‘ll find a way
the lore on folklore is HUGGGEEE!! Cardigan, August and Betty are all from seperate perspectives of 3 teens, James (who Betty is in the perspective of) Betty (who Cardigan is in the perspective of) and then Augustine (who August is in the perspective of) It follows the story of a teenage love triangle Taylor created in which James screws things up with his girlfriend Betty and during the summer, has a fling with Augustine and breaks her heart, going back to Betty and begging for her forgiveness. The last great American dynasty is written about Taylor’s summer house on Rhode Island, the song is about the past owners of the house before Taylor bought it (Rebekah Harkness) Mirrorball is written actually from Taylor’s perspective about how when the world went into lockdown and all her shows were cancelled, that her fans could still see her as a mirrorball, something always reflecting back at them and basically saying “Hey, I see you and I’m with you” Our gorgeous gorgeous TRACK 5!!: my tears ricochet is about Taylor’s old record label, they sold her first 6 albums without her permission - forcing her to take back those rights and rewrite and rerelease her first 6 albums. She’s saying “if I go down, you’re going down with me” and that even when she was going through absolute hell with reputation and the Kanye bullshit, her label STILL managed to tear her apart and undermine her as an artist, when they should’ve been protecting her. Her saying “you wear the same jewels that I gave you as you buried me” is her referencing to her label wearing her first 6 albums in their sleeve even when they’re bringing her career down. But you know our girl, she ALWAYS FIGHTS BACK!! This is me trying: the problems of suffering with an addiction of any kind and telling everyone around you, “I’m trying my best and I’m sorry if I’m not who you want me to be” Exile: the perspective of a struggling relationship, both partners telling eachother what they want and yet still not hearing eachother. Essentially leaving both partners “exiled” from eachothers lives. The 1: wishing someone could be the person you created in your head, but instead not being able to fix them at all, and having to accept that fact and let them go. The lakes: Taylor visited the Lake District over here in the United Kingdom, where a lot of poets years ago would write their poetry, Taylor felt incredibly inspired and wrote a song about it!!! Epiphany: Taylor wrote this about her Grandfather who was in the war. It’s an incredibly beautiful song and also incredibly sad. She explains a lot about it in her folklore long pond studios, so I highly recommend watching that if you’re interested!!
more lore!! so illicit affairs can be tied into the august betty cardigan lore (bc the whole james augustine relationship thing was an illicit affair) seven is about escaping childhood trauma (you can really see it in the lyrics) epiphany is about her late grandfather who was a wwii veteran who served on d-day. it also honors the covid nurses and doctors who had to work tirelessly to care for people and see people pass away every day. (me personally this is my favorite track off folklore and it’s sooo underrated. i cry to this everytime)
Adding onto it!! invisible string: this is a theory us swifties ALWAYS talk about, i like to think it’s Taylor’s little manifestation song. Her life has fallen exactly how she’s planned pretty much, writing certain lyrics from her first album that now relate to her current relationship with Travis Kelce “I’ll be 87 you’ll be 89” from Taylor Swift the album. Travis Kelce’s Chiefs number is 87, and both Travis and Tay were born in 1989. It’s a cute little song about two people will always be brought back to eachother! Mad woman: another one of my personal favourites, this one kinda reflects how the world is against women in a lot of ways. A lot of things we do are criticised or we’re called “crazy and mad” for expressing certain feelings. Taylor being in the spotlight she’s definitely experienced this at a hightened level, especially being a successful woman in the music industry.
I love how he went from first hearing reputation to listening to all her albums and basically being a fan girl now. it’s amazing to see people come to love her work
real! people love to talk major shittt without even giving her a chance. love and respect those people that actually give her music a try (and most end up loving it!) ‼️
@celiafalsone Exactly, they think it's a waste of time to listen to Tay's songs but then, give it a chance and you'll love the songs. They don't know what they're missing because if she doesn't exist anymore, they'll feel bad about it, so we should never judge a book by its cover because we don't know what will happen. 💙
I hated Taylor swift. I was I total hater. I didn’t really like some of her pop songs and thought they were mid. One day Ivy randomly started playing and I listened to her entire discography and I GET IT SHE’S AMAZING.
@nomarica That's right, Ivy is so beautiful, I mean, all her songs are beautiful, wonderful, relaxing... even I get goosebumps when the best part of the song comes. It makes my day!
ok there we go: "Swift created a love story between three characters that she created named Betty, James, and Augustine. The songs "betty", "cardigan", and "august" are written from their perspectives. The story goes that James and Betty were dating during the school year, and James cheated on Betty with another girl during the summer. Eventually, James goes back and apologizes to Betty and they get back together. However, in "august", listeners learn that the brief romance between James and Augustine wasn't just "a summer thing" to her, and that she was actually in love with him. Swift said on her Instagram post. "...I created character arcs & recurring themes that map out who is singing about who. For example, there's a collection of 3 songs I refer to as The Teenage Love Triangle. These 3 songs explore a love triangle from all 3 people's perspectives at different times in their lives."
Epiphany is brutal. Taylor wrote it in honor of her grandfather who served in world war 2 and stormed the beaches of Normandy. And about the frontline healthcare workers that served during the Covid 19 pandemic. My mom passed away from Covid during the pandemic. Someone’s mother was mine.
'the lakes' is probably my favourite song of hers and i'm so sad no one ever gets the 'i've come too far to watch some name dropping sleaze tell me what are my words worth' part. William Wordsworth was one of the lake poets she's singing about, which makes HER the name dropping sleaze!!!! SHE IS A GENIUS
There has never been a reaction to my tears ricochet more valid than this. Like, I don’t respond this intensely anymore because I’m used to the song and the feeling now. But watching Jaxon feel it for the first time made me remember it too and it’s actually so devastating 😭
43:40 so seven is from the perspective of Taylor as a child, and her friend’s dad being mad because the house is “haunted” is the childhood innocence masquerading the fact that the dad may be an alcoholic. The naïvety of young Taylor presumes the house is haunted because she may have heard the dad discussing “spirits” and made the connection to ghosts rather than alcohol
Or perhaps ‘haunted’ is worded from the perspective of a child, “your dad is always mad” being the reason of the horrors in that house. Maybe the child feels eerie in that house because of the father’s behaviour.
the 1 - 1:04 cardigan - 6:58 the last great american dynasty - 13:22 exile (ft. bon) - 21:54 my tears ricochet - 29:20 mirrorball - 35:13 seven - 41:03 august - 46:01 this is me trying - 52:04 illicit affairs - 57:24 invisible string - 1:01:20 mad woman - 1:06:40 epiphany - 1:13:04 betty - 1:18:47 peace - 1:26:07 hoax - 1:30:43 the lakes - 1:34:41 life support by madison beer. thats it. please jaxson please. and to the people stealing my timestamps and deleting this message at the end, do ur own timestamps. they arent that hard and u don’t need the likes THAT badly.
One thing id like to add. Many people call crying or sensitivity a weakness. It’s actually a strength because people who feel have the security to let out their true emotions. Many of the so-called strong people are afraid to open their heart. So props to you man.
1:16:07 IMPORTANTTTTT!!!!! so basically epiphany is not just about the battlefield but how her grandfather couldn’t talk about his time serving and how covid19 doctors and nurses will have similar emotional trauma
Yes!! And the line “something med school did not cover” is pretty much saying no med school / nurses & doctors were not prepared for something like Covid 19 so they went in so blind and saw some of the worst things.
@@maddyc1324med school teaches how to be sensitive when you speak to patients and their families about death and grieving. They never teach you how to speak to yourself about the patients, your charges, dying all around you and having no answers to why and how to stop it.
Agreed! Maybe he should watch the Long Pond Sessions. I do however like that he connects to sings of he can relate himself vs what a lot of us Swifties do… we all have songs we connect with, but most of us feel the empathy for Taylor as well 🫶🏻
So excited, AND WE'LL BE WAITING FOR EVERMORE, THE FOLKMORE DUO ARE LYRICAL MASTERPIECES AND WE NEED BOTH!! And, who else just randomly found his channel and became addicted?
I think epiphany will forever be one of my favorite Taylor Swift songs; she wrote it during covid comparing people going to war is similar to what the nurses had to deal with being on the front lines. I worked as a surgical nurse during the entire pandemic and they were some of the hardest days of my life 🥺
Bro was COOKED🤭. He’s so good at understanding these songs, we love to see it. His emotional intelligence is also so immaculate, wish more men were like this
Florida!? Snow on the Beach (more Lana del Rey version 😂)? But yeah noone expects the deep voice the first time to go soooo well. So I do have to agree ❤
1:13:07 as someone who was working in a hospital when COVID hit the world, the first time I heard this song I BAWLED my eyes out. It was one of the first times I’d felt seen and that someone understood what it was like to be the one that’s supposed to be providing healthcare, but not being able to do anything to help, or even hold someone’s hand properly as they took their last breath.
@@jayelle822 literally would see people coding while being moved from a regular room to a Covid room with all the special equipment, having to stop in place and give cpr. It was really tough. And no one knew if any of us were going to get sick, or what to expect each day.
1:35:47 "is it Romantic how all my elegies eulogize me" a eulogy is a speech given about someone at their funeral/after they've died and her elegies = her sad songs. The Romantic movement is a poetry movement (a lot of the Romantic poets lived in the Lakes) which centred around imagination and emotions where they romanticised everything. So she's asking if it's Romantic in a poetic way that her sad songs are what she will be remembered for when she's gone. folklore on top I loved this video
Today is one for the ages y’all! I just listened to Reputation by Taylor for the first time ever and it was an AMAZING experience. I also found out that it’s connected to the whole phone call drama with Kanye and how Taylor was struggling during that time. I’ll admit I was one of those people that just did not like Taylor whatsoever but I finally decided to give her a proper chance and I’m glad that I did because that album went so hard. My favorites are Ready For It, End Game, So It Goes, Dancing With Our Hands Tied, Dress and Call It What You Want. I’m gonna listen to Midnights next then I’ll listen to Red and 1989. I might just become a Swiftie and maybe it won’t be so bad
@@briannanxkole me too! I was so busy judging her because everyone else was and never actually gave her music a chance at all. But like I said I really am glad I decided to change my perception of her and give her music a try. I think i’m starting to understand why the world loves her so much, she really is talented

'I think your house is haunted. Your dad is always mad, and that must be why." = There are spirits (whiskey, gin, vodka, etc.) in the house, i.e. her friend's dad is an abusive alcoholic. A 7 year old wouldn't understand that though, so she reasoned that there were spirits (ghosts) in the house instead. Basically, the song is about the innocence of childhood, and the purity of the love and friendship between two little girls.
This is why we love her so much. She writes our feelings and gives them back in the world wrapped beautifully. There’s really no way to fully warn someone for the feeling of being SO seen. PS - on seven…her friend is being abused at home and that’s why she wants her to come live with her.

14:30 Just for context, Rebekah Harkness was the previous owner of her Rhose Island house, way before she bought it. The Last Great American Dynasty is about her and her story, from what I remember.
even though i’ve listened to most of the albums you’ve reacted to, the way you interpret all the lyrics and connect them really helps me see it in a new light
Epiphany is basically about the emotions of the health care workers during covid and how it relates to a pacific battle in WW2, it was called the Battle of Guadalcanal, it was so gruesome and traumatising that no one could talk about. Taylors grandfather actually fought in this battle, that is her connection with it.
When you revisit this album, watch the folklore long pond studio sessions! There is a little more info behind the songs for each track and it’s stripped way down instrumentally. It’s beautiful!!
What makes my tears ricochet even more heartbreaking is that it’s not even about a romantic relationship it’s about her relationship with Scott Borchetta who owns big machine records, and when she says you were the same Jules that I gave you as you buried me, she saying that the guy who sold her albums to Scooter without even giving her the chance to buy them first was wearing the Grammys and platinum records that she gained him as he watched her reputation burn. And most of the song is referring to how both of their careers depended on each other so when he did that, he was destroying his own career without even realizing it.
i'm really proud to say that exile was my suprise song and the moment i realize that she's playing exile i burst into tears. it was probably the best moment in my life.
57:01 this is really funny because she actually surprise dropped folklore and it’s sister album evermore. we had zero warning. she just posted online like “hey my new albums out. hope you like it” and we were all like TAYLOR WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU OKAY
“It’s beautiful but I’m still mad!” Definitely sums up Betty lol. The Betty and August tracks are so full of pure love and longing and here comes James waltzing through both songs and having the audacity to ask for Betty back AND IT WORKS! Super catchy though
You, Terry & Kaniyia and Chats & Reacts are my favourite Taylor reactors/swifties! Like you're all so REAL and just...ugh ❤️ Makes life so much more nicer 😭
A comment from a Swiftie said that the Chorus in Her song ( My Tears Ricochet )has easter eggs of her 6 stolen albums: She's a Mastermind !!!! 1. …..I didn't have it in myself to go with grace ( Song - State of Grace ) Album: RED 2. …..And you're the hero flying around, saving face ( Song - Superman ) Album: Speak Now 3. …..And if I'm dead to you, why are you at the wake? ( Song - Look What You Made Me Do ) Album: REPUTATION 4. …..Cursing my name, ( Song - The Way I Loved You ) Album: FEARLESS 5. …..wishing I stayed ( Song - All You Had To Do Was Stay ) Album: 1989 6. …..Look at how my tears ricochet ( Song - Teardrops On My Guitar ) Album: Debut - Taylor Swift
I love folklore so much. Btw evermore is folklores sister album. And I would recommend breaking TTPD into 2 videos with a dictionary and tissues on standby! Such a huge fan since rep!!! Love u
I TOLD YOOOOOUUUUUUUU!!! Folklore was the album that got me. Bought the wife floor seats to night 2 of The Eras Tour in Kansas City and listened to her discography to prepare and became a Folklore stan. Even got a Folklore tree tattoo on my left wrist. Wife got “for the hope of it all” lyric from August tattooed on the inside of her forearm. Now you need to do the Folklore Long Pond sessions for “My Tears Ricochet”, “Betty”, “Cardigan”, and “August.” And of course Folklore’s sister album, Evermore (Champagne Problems and Tis the Damn Season are my go-to songs on that)

the lore on folklore is HUGGGEEE!!
Cardigan, August and Betty are all from seperate perspectives of 3 teens, James (who Betty is in the perspective of) Betty (who Cardigan is in the perspective of) and then Augustine (who August is in the perspective of)
It follows the story of a teenage love triangle Taylor created in which James screws things up with his girlfriend Betty and during the summer, has a fling with Augustine and breaks her heart, going back to Betty and begging for her forgiveness.
The last great American dynasty is written about Taylor’s summer house on Rhode Island, the song is about the past owners of the house before Taylor bought it (Rebekah Harkness)
Mirrorball is written actually from Taylor’s perspective about how when the world went into lockdown and all her shows were cancelled, that her fans could still see her as a mirrorball, something always reflecting back at them and basically saying “Hey, I see you and I’m with you”
Our gorgeous gorgeous TRACK 5!!: my tears ricochet is about Taylor’s old record label, they sold her first 6 albums without her permission - forcing her to take back those rights and rewrite and rerelease her first 6 albums.
This is me trying: the problems of suffering with an addiction of any kind and telling everyone around you, “I’m trying my best and I’m sorry if I’m not who you want me to be”
Exile: the perspective of a struggling relationship, both partners telling eachother what they want and yet still not hearing eachother.
THIS COMMENT IS EVERYTHING!!
more lore!!
so illicit affairs can be tied into the august betty cardigan lore (bc the whole james augustine relationship thing was an illicit affair)
seven is about escaping childhood trauma (you can really see it in the lyrics)
epiphany is about her late grandfather who was a wwii veteran who served on d-day. it also honors the covid nurses and doctors who had to work tirelessly to care for people and see people pass away every day.
@@isabellasherman5312I also love that Travis shares a birthday with her grandma Marjorie!
this is an effing essay bro
it makes me so happy u actually google things instead of just saying random questions out loud 😭
It makes my day!
wait guys we have to explain to him the betty james and augustine triangle
wait we do
omg we do!!
ok there we go:
"Swift created a love story between three characters that she created named Betty, James, and Augustine.
These 3 songs explore a love triangle from all 3 people's perspectives at different times in their lives."
you underestimate our king, he looked it up himself as he got to betty
I literally wrote a whole 7 page collage essay about them :) (I got a 100)
“Oh no… I got 56 minutes of this shit to go…” the most real line I’ve ever heard. 😂😂 Feel your feels man!
he might just be cooked 😂
He’s so cooked
Epiphany is brutal. Taylor wrote it in honor of her grandfather who served in world war 2 and stormed the beaches of Normandy. And about the frontline healthcare workers that served during the Covid 19 pandemic.
My mom passed away from Covid during the pandemic. Someone’s mother was mine.
I’m so sorry for your loss
I am a simple woman. I saw tears, I saw jumping, I saw empathy, I saw paying attention to the lyrics..I MUTHERFUKING SUBSCRIBED!!
It's also a double dig at Scooter for buying her albums. What are her words worth... $$$.
Wait. I don't understand. Taylor has come too far to watch herself tell herself what all her words are worth?
It even works out that way because around that time she decided her words are in fact worth a lottt and decided to re-record her albums.@@1lymydog
And the song is writing in his poetry style I just can’t 🩶
@@1lymydogTaylor’s come too far to have some “name dropping sleaze” (Scooter) tell her how much her words are worth
"this substance has nothing to do with me at all and why is this making me sad" AHAAHAHAH and thats on empathy
I can relate so much cuz after understanding the lyrics i cried lmao
There has never been a reaction to my tears ricochet more valid than this. Like, I don’t respond this intensely anymore because I’m used to the song and the feeling now. But watching Jaxon feel it for the first time made me remember it too and it’s actually so devastating 😭
Fun fact she wrote This is Me Trying for people struggling with addiction and mental illness during lockdown and I think that’s beautiful
She has a big heart❤
"Sad as f*ck with a whole bunch of different themes" is the perfect way to describe folklore 😅
I saw another comment saying the same thing I didn’t connect the dots did Taylor say she heard the father talk about spirts in an interview?
Or perhaps ‘haunted’ is worded from the perspective of a child, “your dad is always mad” being the reason of the horrors in that house. Maybe the child feels eerie in that house because of the father’s behaviour.
It’s not abt Tay, it’s a story
i agree but always saw it as the dad was ab*sive and that’s why her friend had to hide in the closet 😔
thank you for showing so much love for epiphany!! it's extremely underrated even though it's so beautiful

Today is one for the ages y’all! I just listened to Reputation by Taylor for the first time ever and it was an AMAZING experience. I also found out that it’s connected to the whole phone call drama with Kanye and how Taylor was struggling during that time. My favorites are Ready For It, End Game, So It Goes, Dancing With Our Hands Tied, Dress and Call It What You Want. I’m gonna listen to Midnights next then I’ll listen to Red and 1989. Peace is one of the best songs from folklore!

Yeah ttpd will have to be a two-parter. His heart can’t handle the entire anthology at once 💔
Now you need to do the Folklore Long Pond sessions for “My Tears Ricochet”, “Betty”, “Cardigan”, and “August.” And of course Folklore’s sister album, Evermore (Champagne Problems and Tis the Damn Season are my go-to songs on that)
hell yes!!! I would love to see your tay-too!!! insta?
Dude - I love you so much. Seriously. You are just …. a beautiful person. I am really happy to watch you discover Taylor.❤❤❤❤
Folklore is some of her best work. The way you were struggling before you got to track 5, I knew the My Tears Ricochet bridge was gonna wreck you.
he needs some joy… let’s get him to react to the albums “Fearless” and “Speak Now”!
The quadruple punch of exile, my tears ricochet, mirrorball, and seven is actually criminal.
You HAVE to watch the illicit affairs from the Eras tour. We call it the angry version
