The Sanctum was a ordinary looking building that they made into a fantastic looking set. The X-men mansion is a stunning Regency palace/stately home/boarding school, and they made a tiny, plain, overpriced turd. How did they create a MANSION that looks half the size of the Home Alone family house and then think, "very nice indeed!". It looks like the X-Men Mansions garden shed, and they want almost £300 for it? I want five pints of what them at Lego are supping. At 50% off I would still be reluctant to buy it, it looks nothing like the building in the films that was stunning, add another £50 and you could take home the Lion Knights castle which is an absolute masterpiece...or you can have the X-Mens garden shed with 56 stickers. Or buy the Daily Bugle for the same money and get 23 figs and a set that looks like it costs £300, rather than a set that tells everyone you were taken for a sucker.
Yeah I cant work out how they made a set as large and impressive as Home Alone house, for a lot less money, that set is just about perfect, should have done something similar. I know license costs are a factor but if it cant be done to a good standard its not going to have much appeal. I will wait until I see it for myself but the price is certainly a major deterrent. Will be interesting to see how quick it goes on sale if it goes to John Lewis/Argos etc.
My mushroom house arrived yesterday and something to build in the future. I thought I’d heard somewhere the modular was due for release in January now but might be wrong on that? I like the botanical gardens and will buy that sometime next year probably. Fingers crossed for a discounted price on that one 🤞
Oh nice, mine is still sitting waiting to be delivered, should be here next week🤞The new Modular will be out in December, they used to come out every January but Lego changed that with the Natural History Museum last year. Sounds interesting, going to be some kind of residential townhouse, cant wait to see it
Yeah me too but I expect this will be massively produced as its got a long window in which its available. I think last years Galileo promo lasted well so I'm expecting this to be the same
Yeah Lego are really starting to push the limits of what people will pay for sets, so many sets in 2024 have had so many complaints about the pricing. Lego need to be careful or they are going to turn a lot of people off. It does sting buying new sets then seeing how much they end up going on sale for in just a few months.
Weekend before black Friday 18th 19th Nov is Lego Insiders weekend should see some good deals and dbl points. I'm saving coin till then. Plus OMG the Endurance with that sweet longboat GWP.
Yeah the Insider week is often better than Black Friday for Lego deals, I hope for some great sales on retiring sets. The Endurance should be quite stunning, cant wait to see it
There isn't any updates for my Bricklink set yet so hopefully soon. Didn't realise Brickester did both of the sets I've gone for. I like the Botanical set but nowhere to put it. I like the X-Men Mansion but only for the building design so won't be getting that either.
Hopefully your order will start moving soon, it maybe Europe start getting them first then start rolling out to the rest of the world. It will be interesting to see both Botanical Gardens and X-Men set near each other, the garden looks much more substantial for the same money
Agree completely about home alone being a great model for the mansion. I like the reading promo but am not sure I will get it. Very high hopes for the endurance. I think nov 7th is the reveal date
@@Bricks-30 haha I didn't either, I only discovered that for myself a month or so ago. Pains me to think how much money I could have saved this year if I had known😂
The X-men mansion is overpriced for what it is. Even the included GWP is not what it should be. I’m only interested in the Jean Grey Minifig so I’m going to search that one on the internet. The botanical garden looks great and comes with a nice little GWP. Maybe also a bit overpriced but much more worth the money than the X-men mansion. I like the reading GWP so I’m probably going to buy something to get it. Thinking of the Medieval Townsquare or the Snowwhite house.
Yeah the minifigures are very nice, just think Lego maybe asking too much for it. I like the set but it doesn't look like £300 worth of Lego. I'm hoping for a nice deal on the Snow white house, its on my wish list
Dear John, thank you for the video. In case it might interest you, the UA-camr MOC YOUR BRICKs has made a number of fantastic ship MOCs, including one of Lego Ninjago's Destiny's Bounty. He really has some very beautiful Lego ships.
Oh interesting, I will check that channel out. Would be nice if Lego made more large scale ships. Shame Lego wont do military ships as I would love an Nimitz class Aircraft Carrier, that would be epic
@@TheDyslexicGeak That would be an ambitious project. It would probably take a lot of time to build a MOC like that. Sets make it easy. Lego has made ships that have cannons, and I consider a Viking ship to be a war ship, but I suppose it's not quite the same as war ships of modern times. I wonder if they fear they might be deluged by demands or MOCs from fans interested in such a theme, or perhaps they fear that it might be too expensive and too niche. With regard to castles there's tremendously strong interest among fans. Perhaps castles are easier to build and adapt.
@@alrinaleroux9229 Castle sets are certainly very popular, I cant get enough of them. Lego seem reluctant to make them but thankfully Bricklink is some what filling the gaps but makes it hard with sets being capped at 30k units so people miss out if not there to pre-order when they become available

The X-Men Mansion is another example of Lego trying to make an unreasonable profit of fans of the brand. When one thinks of a mansion, this isn’t it.
