The Best of Martial Arts doc has been completely reconstructed by my man Brandon Bentley using HD clips of the films in their original aspect ratio. Way above and beyond. Can’t wait to get my hands on this - I’ve never seen When Taekwondo Strikes so I’m super excited!
It’s an improvement on the HDCAM by Fortune Star (mainly consisted of upscaled footage), but I believe the mastering still deviates from the original (as seen on Mediumrare Entetainment’s DVD) ratio-wise sometimes (also some minor mastering errors).
I have When Taekwondo strikes on dvd but once you said the best of the martial arts was included that was more than enough for me to get this blu ray. Now an essential buy. Thanks for the great review George.🙏
I still have the Hong Kong heroes dvd, it's probably my favourite Angela Mao film, although I do love Broken oath for very different reasons. I hope Eureka don't neglect the earlier HK films as I favour them over the 80's action flicks.
I have the Joy Sales vcd like you and it is in sad quality. I knew when I first watched it last year that Eureka would have to release it like they did with the other Sammo and Angela Mao films! The trailer looks so much better in quality than the vcd so I’m looking forward to getting this soon.
I remember the film and the poster down the london underground at the time when I was 7 years old coming out lol I hope they do King Boxer and the One Armed Swords man next and Stoner
Awesome, that would have been cool to see :) Stoner yes, as it's Golden Harvest. The other two are Shaw Brothers though. One Armed Swordsman got a limited Blu-ray release by 88 Films and King Boxer was released on Blu by Eureka Video as part of the Shawscope release - although has had a recent Blu-ray release by them again in a collection called The Basher Box :) Check out Amazon!
I used to preorder these blu rays but they always come way later than the release date. Now I usually order it on release date and it shows up within 7-10 days. I’ll be getting this soon most definitely!
EUREKA did a better job than VS formatting the film "The Best of the Martial Arts Films " for the screen. I'm very pleased with this release! I understand that BRUCE LEE had input in the film "WHEN TKD STRIKES " recommending the late great Jhoon Rhee to GOLDEN HARVEST.

Well tell your man Brandon that he did a great job! It looks fantastic and I'm going back to it again this week :) Thanks!

I know, the world has gone mad! :) Hopefully the postal service gets better in 2024. Thanks for watching :)
Try ordering direct from Eureka. They usually dispatch a week before release.
@@discostu333 They only take World pay and I don’t have that or know what it is so that’s why I don’t order from them
Great review ! Is the best of martial arts. Uncut(nunchaku scene from ETD) ?
I'll double check on that. Near sure it was :) Thanks for watching!
When taekwondo is a good sequel to hapkido korean martial arts movie in Chinese mandarin world .
It pretty much is a sequel in some respects yes. Checkout my retrospective for my thoughts on that :)

He did indeed. See my retrospective on that :) And yes, I've still to check out VS version of the doco to compare. Thanks for watching!!
I could not find the alternate english audio track on this one, looks like they forgot to put it in.
Oh really, I rarely listen to the English tracks but I must go back and check it out...
Isn't Best of Martial Arts also on the Vinegar Syndrome release of Righting Wrongs? That vhs was a gateway drug for HK action movies.
It sure is yes! I never had a multi-regional player when I got that though, so I must compare the two now that I do :)
Love this film 😂😂
It is a classic. Thanks for watching :)
Way much better than the so called American imitation and terrible knockoffs
It sure is! Genuine kung fu classic :)
