Lovely vase and the set up and putting it together were very easy to follow, I really like the feature ring and it is very easy to make, well done and thanks! Cheers Al
Thanks Ray I appreciate the comment. Maybe you should give it a try. You could do a simple one with 3 rows using all the same wood. Thanks for watching, Gary
This whole project was extremely well executed, Gary. Easy to follow, perfectly planned and turned with an exceptional finish. No one could do it better! Another masterpiece, professor! It was fun to listen to you, especially at the end. The excitement in your voice tells the whole story! You were having fun! 😊 Phil
Thanks so much Phil. For sure it was a lot of work but it is the kind I like. I already have a few who want to make it and have shared the information. For sure I was pretty excited at the end. That is normally when I step back to have a good look at what I just made. Easy to get envolved with the process to see it all. But I get lost easy LOL. Thanks for watching! Gary
Gary, you are without a shadow of a doubt, the best segmented turner on UA-cam. I absolutely love watching your channel. It's given me great inspiration for my own turnings. Keep up the great work. Cheers
Gary just fantastic. When I glue my segments together. I spread a length of blue painters tape the length of the circle of segments. I glue all together then simply pull the tape together to form my circle. Only my opinion I find it to be easier to put the clamps or rubber bands around the perimeter. Your ideas are always pretty cool. You keep making them. I'll keep watching them. Thank you for sharing
Thank you Albert. I have seen that method many times and think it is a good idea. Honestly not sure I ever tried it or not. This is how I have always done it. But I learned on how to make segmented rings where the rings were anywhere from 2 to 8 foot in diameter. Guess I should try the tape on the smaller rings I do now. So on my next segmented turning I will give it a try. If I remember LOL Thanks for watching, Gary
As usual a beautiful piece. I always learn something from your projects and have enjoyed making similar ones inspired from yours. Thank you for your guidance.
Thanks Roger. I have this dream( nite mare) of using some leftover pieces from other segments. I have done multiple feature rings when something is difficult. Just because it is all set up. Might be the FranklinSeg lol. Gary

Gary that is a fantastic piece !!.You do a great job of explaining the steps you take to produce your pieces. And as a carpenter I find all your homemade cutting jigs impressive.
I am in complete agreement with Tim. Your mastery of segmented turning and your eye for design always impresses. Thanks, Gary, for another great video.
Beautiful urn. I really enjoyed how you put the rings together so you could blend them together more easily. Actually watched the video with my wife. At the end she just said "hmmm". I interpret that to mean something just got added to the project list. Thanks for that.
Gary, I really liked the video and the simplicity of your feature ring. Also, the small sled that you cut the angle on the assembled feature ring segments is something I must put together. Love your channel and thanks for showing all the steps.
Outstanding. Wood selection, shaping, and finish. Production excellent. One suggestion. At the end when you are holding the bowl to show it off, slow your movements a bit. It makes for a better presentation of the piece. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.🙂🙂
Thank you very much Glen. I appreciate your reminder on slowing it down. Have heard it a few times from others and I try but I talk with my hands and it is hard for me to hold anything still. But I sure will try as I see that same issues when I watch my video. Thanks again, Gary

Very nice Gary. You picked a very pretty combination of woods. My supplier can no longer get yellowheart so I'm hoarding what I have left. This would be a very good use for it.

Wow! Gary, that is a beautiful vase/jar. Not sure if I have missed any videos, but things have been a literal train wreck with me and my wife. First I got dehydrated working outside last Saturday in April, went in the hospital the next day with a bad UTI, and my was leaving the hospital the next evening fell and broke her left leg shattered her knee cap, and broke her left arm, all in one fall. So I have been taking care of her and our special needs child. Great video.
So sorry for what you have been going through Harry. Hope your wife gets all healed up and all is well. I had my issues starting right before Christmas. You may know I had ankle surgery. That took over 3 months to get around decently. Then I had 2 other set backs. But fine now. Happy you liked my turning. Take care of yourself and your wife my friend, Gary
Thanks, glad you are better. You know things happen in life and we either run and hide or meet things head on, and like I have dine in the past just put my head down and and meet the challenges as they come along. I will be so glad Tina's leg gets to where she can start putting weight on it, as she has been bed bound since everything happened. You stay well and as always I learned a lot on this video.
Gary, this is just beautiful work. I’ve been out of the country for two weeks and came back to this most wonderful video. I don’t know if you share the plans, but I am certainly thinking of making one of these myself. It is great. I do have the software that I purchased years ago and enjoy working with it. I have spoken with Lloyd several times and have enjoyed working with him as well. If you would share the plans, that would be wonderful. Thank you again, Van.
Another masterpiece, thanks for the videos! You're giving me some really good ideas with the fixtures you made. I like the piece of wood that you placed on the other side of your table saw blade.
Thanks Steve. The ramp is really helpful to keep the small pieces away from the blade. Now and then they build up but easy enough to take care of that. Thanks for watching, Gary
Morning Gary, That is just wonderful. All the segments in the feature ring line up perfectly which is a testament to your skill in segmenting. I love the final piece and all the woods compliment each other. Take care my friend. Hwyl, Huw
Thank you Huw. I really think the Cherry sets the whole thing off. I got it at a moving sale and was kind of a beat up looking board. I barely had enough to do this piece just trying to avoid small cracks in it. You just never know. Hwyl, Gary
Once again an amazing segmented piece. Gary you inspire me to go out and turn something. I love the shavings that come off a segmented turning. Its like a birds nest. Looking forward to the next one !
Thank you John! I remember brining in some very colorful shavings from a dizzy bowl to show my wife. She took one long one and had it hanging on the wall for some time. Thanks for watching, Gary

Thank You Gary, Thank You Cherry, Paduke, Maple, Yellow Heart, Walnut... U R back to your confuse-a-Tuffy projects... EXCELLANT GARY and very much appreciated. I was thinking how much thought and time you have invested in elaborate projects like this. One small mistake early on could ruin the entire piece? Beautiful work Gary and until next time.... TM
Thanks so much TM. Yes a lot of work. Doing the last cuts down in the top opening means I do not drink coffee for at least 3 hours before doing it LOL. Thanks for watching my friend, Gary
I watched this earlier, but did not comment. I enjoyed watching how you put this together and certainly enjoyed the finished product. Well, done. Thanks for sharing your work.

I've just finished glueing up 6 24 segment rings and use the tape for the first time. I have to agree it's so much fast and easier.

Thanks for watching my friend,
Gary
