I’m surprised by the cheaper detector out performing the AT Max but even more surprising is that they still manage to sell the max in light of what you can get for less money now.
It's kind of liking watching the news and actual real world experience. Garrett has all these big names using their equipment than the masses see the machine they use.
Well, CD, I bet there will be some Garrett detectors for sale tomorrow. You can not deny the difference between today's detectors vs those of 15 years ago.
Would the Legend be worth the extra money over the triple? Triple seems to perform really well for the money…is performance comparable outside of customization or just more frequent software updates?
Yup..the AT-Pro was the cats meow when it was first introduced around 2012 or so and Garrett made tons of money from its sales. I bought one, have found tons with it over the years, then and still use it from time to time. No denying it...Its a dinosaur now compared to the new machines and technology and should be retired. It also weighs too much unless you constantly run the 5" x 8" coil which is what I do if and when I use it. It is terrible in wet sand/salt beaches. Single frequency should be a choice on the menu...not the only frequency. Here in Canada the AT-Pro International will run you over $ 800.00 new, and its just not comparable to what you can now get with other detector brand features and technology, at much lower prices. Just my opinions...Cheers!
last garret I owed was the AT Pro when the Nox series came out and i think CD showed us the difference between the two I sold my ATPro and went to Nox 600 pre-owned as most pple that time jump to its bigger brother the 800. also you can sell your Garrett ATPro around 500 bucks Pre-owned! Technology has evolved in Metal Detecting indeed, I just hope that the new Vortex will live to its hype when it comes out.
Same here... I have an explorer II. Rusty bent square nails will fool it. Round rusted objects will fool it. But in clean ground it hits high conductors deeeep. I love the tones on my 20 year old unit. I'm going to get a triple score this fall though and spend time learning it.
I see the Triple Score is performing well in Iron with pitch tones. Could you test it in full tones? I’m just curious how it performs in full/60 tones.
Still going to be someone in the comment that will say you did not set up the AT pro correctly, you need to turn it off and it will work better 🤣🤣🤣🤣 the tones on D2 sound the sweetest to me on this test 🥳🥳
Id dig all those tones on rev site with the Triple Score, its already found stuff at a civ war site ,place i pounded with my At max, the legend also, but i prob. didn't tweak my legend for the site really
A D2 has been in my arsenal since a week after release, there's one other machine I use, but it is used only at special events, otherwise the D2 is the go to detector, period!
Hey Cal , awesome video as usual. If you ever get a chance I’d like to see you put the Fisher F19 to the test in iron. A couple of my friends have the F19 and they rant and rave about it. Also , I’ve played around with Gary Blackwell’s Tekkna program on my Deus2 and had some luck with it . I’m curious as to what your take on that is. Thx
I have a very old mine lab that they don’t make parts for anymore, so I’m looking for a replacement that I can hunt the beaches / saltwater, as well as in the Midwest areas of Indiana. What is your top detector opinion. I’m retired and I’m looking forward to treating myself to the best, and use it for many years. Thank you everyone for helping me out. Vet / firefighter
@@calabashdiggeradventures thank you for taking the time to respond, I’ve been watching your videos- do you think deus II is better ? I don’t have to go with mine Lab ?
Love your vids, kinda makes me want a d2, but i have seen history revisited do a comparison on black sand, D2 couldn't ground balance, but the Triple could
I had some extra money to purchase another detector, so I decided to pick up a new complete carbon fiber shaft from Steve's Detector rods, a Control box cover from RCDigs , a 9'" coil and extra lower shaft for my Deus 2. lol
I started off with the Max. Used that for about a year before wanting a better machine and thankfully, the D2 was about to come out so I put in a pre-order ❤ I commented in a live video before that I found a 17.6g 18k bracelet with the max. It rang up as a LOUD 2 VDI. Thankfully I forgot to put on any disc as I normally would 😁 There was nothing else around and it was only like 3in deep in woodchips. No clue why it came in at a 2 VDI 0_o 🤔 And ugghhh that Garret tone sound 🤮 🤮 🤮 🤮 I hunt virtually everyday for many hours. Used to have to take long breaks because of elbow pain with the Max being so heavy......not a single time with the featherweight of the D2 ❤
I never discriminate on my AT-Max or my T2. As a relic hunter I dig everything. Every little peep, so I really have zero use for a multifrequency machine. I run the AT-Max wide open with iron Audio on or All Metal.
@@calabashdiggeradventures I only hunt Civil War sites between Bull Run and Richmond. I literally have 5 gallon buckets full of hand forged square nails lol.
It is not clear. What depth is the pewter button with nails above and below at the front of the garden? Just to double check, both the SLQ and PB on the left side are at 6-8" depth?

Maybe the camouflage version does better😂

The only thing good from Garret is the pin pointer 😅
I don't miss those horrible garret tones either.
that's a damn lie stop talking fan boy lol
You can get the Dues 2 WS6 Master for $699. Same price as the AT Max.
You just shouldn't get at max. That is the main secret

All I can say is it be better than the AT MAX...
Is it like the At pro on pro zero.
I'd like to see a Safari or Explorer with their older multifrequency vs, some of these newer ones.
I will have a ETRAC video next week..
I’m still running the Etrac and was planning on a Manticore in the near future. Looking forward to seeing this. Keep up the great work!!

I would have been going home with all of that stuff with my Triple Score vs my AT Max friend going home with none of it😂
Yep!
Great Test

One of my relic programs..9 inch coil...version 2

Deus II will not ground balance in beach programs unless salt water is under the coil...If sand was dry might have been the problem..
