@@ribtickle4143 it's not so much that. He is a very talented player except he doesn't have a penetrating Powerful backhand though the top spin makes it effective on clay. But it's his diva attitude and trash talk towards some players that pisses me off. Even when he loses.
I can deeply sense that both of them have sincere respect for each other. It's always great to see some players have deep admiration for other player(s). I think Dubai tournament is one of the best tournaments outside the grandslam tournaments.

I'm Greek. I like Tsitsipas's style of play and support him in all his matches. As for his personality, I'm not a fan. I believe he has referred to Medvedev's game as "boring" in the past and then he tried to sort of fix things by saying his game is not boring, it's smart. I guess he was able to make amends with his latter comments but he stooped to a new low after saying that Rublev has few tools, especially when Rublev is such a likeable guy. There's really little chance of being able to come back from that. Rublev will probably forgive him but he'll certainly not forget.
I have been playing this game for more than 20 years and I agree with Tsitsipas. Medvedev is boring, a pusher looking for your unforced errors. There are many pushers in the amateur tennis who feel vindicated by seeing their styled played by a top10 player, hence the sympathy. But it doesn't make great TV. I watch Medvedev only when he is playing a uber aggressive player who goes to the net (Tsitsipas, Kyrgios, etc), then it is fun the contrast. Couldn't even watch Djokovic -Medvedev. Personally I don't care that much about the personality of Tsitsipas, if you don't know him personally, don't judge. I can tell you a good friend of mine with her 3 daughters met him at Muratoglu academy and he was very nice, gratious, took a photo with them. So, there is a lot of bull about the guy, the press feeds on anything generating attention around sport. I just like tennis.

For sure Daniil didn't like what Andey said about the financial issues of his childhood. Words got him off guard and looks like for a few seconds he felt that bitter feeling of disapointment again. But still he hide his emotions and said nothing about that. Probably he didn't want Andrey to feel sorry about what he just said. It didn't hit the surface but it was actually emotional. Maybe the release of the emotions caused his comments about Tsitsipas at the end.
I agree with you actually. This reminds me of an interview in which Zverev mentioned how Rublev always says what is on his mind with zero filters even stuff he should share or don't want him to share. Zverev said it in a light-hearted, joking manner, but I think in this case Rublev really did share something quite personal that Medvedev might not have necessarily wanted to share with the public.

He said something like most people would probably say 80% even 50% of what's on their mind, but Andrey always says 100% sometimes even more. Then everyone laughed.
I don't think so. Rublev and Medvedev are really close and know each other since they were children. I higly doubt that Andrey would have talked about it if he wasn't sure that it wasn't a problem for Daniil. Plus it's not a secret that unlike other players Medvedev had to work even harder because his family didn't have a lot of money

I think the comment is liked by many on here but I don't think it was fair by Daniil to drag Tsitsipas into this moment when Rublev had said special things about him. We know that Medvedev and Tsitsipas have a thing going on already so it comes from a place of bias. I believe Tsitsipas is a good guy and a fierce competitor and he took the loss to Rublev not very well and he later came out and said really good words about Rublev and took accountability for saying the wrong thing. Even so the issue was between Rublev and Tsitsipas and I'm sure they settled it.
It was Tstispas who deprecated the abilities of Rublev and that was unsportsmanship and in very bad taste.

@@pauljohnson6019 Also, nadals knees are not a problem anymore or have been for some time. It's his foot which almost made him quit in 2021. He fixed the pain but there is no cure. It's chronic and his days are numbered. Maybe a year or two at most.
