What my concern is that with gender revealing parties and then baby showers everyone is celebrating before the child has been delivered SAFELY, and having dealt with mums who suffer the worst thing imaginable it makes me uncomfortable. When you consider that baby showers originated in China and were only thrown once the baby was 1 month old I just wonder when it changed to before the event
Theres nothing WRONG with having a surprise, in fact many people choose to be surprised during delivery. Its a personal choice. Since we have the technology available to plan ahead, a lot of people will choose to know in advance.
Oh! dear, I wonder how we managed years ago when there was no way of knowing what we were having. We got a surprise and it was wonderful. I do think all these baby reveal/shower parties should be put on hold until after the baby is delivered, safely into your arms and THEN do all the celebrating you want at the christening. Hope you have had your baby by now and everything went well.
You assume there is going to be a christening. I didn't have one because me and my family don't believe in the whole ''God will look after the baby!'' thing because we believe that there is no possible way for any god to exist and we think its stupid.
idk. most people want to know. my parents never had the option and they wouldn't have chosen to find out. My feelings are buy gender neutral newborn stuff and paint the room a neutral color then once they are born buy the boy stuff or girly things. I find it so stupid when people buy a pink carseat then have another baby in two years that is a boy and have to buy a new newborn carseat.
