@@picklerick9578 The point is, the other vehicle likely did look and saw an empty lane. The motorcycle made a sudden lane change that the other vehicle couldn't predict. More like he needs a lesson in motorcycle driving. "Almost killed me"....ha.
It is the responsibility of the driver changing lanes to make sure its safe, Mirrors, and shoulder check. No blind spot if you turn your neck. Like a rider is suppose to just move to accommodate every driver.
@@MrWillhill41 And the intelligent thing to do if you value having a heart beat, is to make sure you are as visible as possible when you're riding. Being "in the right" isn't much use to anyone when they're 6 feet down.

Check 1:02 Did he suddenly somehow manage to move sideways? Oh, and BTW...the biker ALSO swerved into the lane to the right without looking, so...
A general question to other countries motorcyclists. When you drive in driving school, do they teach you to take up space in your lane (staying between the middle part of/in the lane and The lane markings), or do they teach you to be as far to one of the sides in your lanes as possible? Here in Sweden the driving school, the same with SMC (Sveriges Motorcyklister - Sweden motorcyclists) that you should take up space in your own lane to avoid other vehicles to come beside you in your lane. Kind regards and drive safe out there felllow tiders.
I was taught to keep in in middle of the road unless there is a hazard, for some reason Americans seem to think the middle position is cursed and avoid it at all costs.
You don't have to take a class to get a motorcycle endorsement here in the United States. It's a knowledge test of between 30-50 questions at which time you're permitted to ride with some restrictions. Those vary by state. Then you take a skills test which is in a parking lot and at slow speeds. They manual states to choose which lane position (1, 2, or 3) is safest within the riding conditions. We do have safety costs courses but I'm not sure how many partake in them. I personally ride in the middle for the reason you state. Filtering is illegal in most states here so most car drivers recognize that a motorcycle has a full lane to operate in and they are not to impede.
When a motorcyclist comes to a stop behind another vehicle I can understand being on the side of the lane, to the side of the vehicle in front simply in case a vehicle coming up behind isn't going to stop, but when moving they should stay in the middle of the lane, for the reason you stated.... Here in the states it isn't legal to pass a vehicle of any type while in the same lane. So those who do that to motorcyclist are passing illegally... I know back when I was a passenger, way back in the early 90s, we were told to ride on the left side of the lane so the driver in front could see you... But I don't know if or how it's taught in safety courses.... Lane splitting, like in California, is different, but only motorcyclist are allowed to do it, even though some drivers want to or will attempt to.. And I'm not sure if lane splitting is legal on surface streets, I don't recall ever seeing a rider doing it....
I typically ride more toward the edges so I can see around traffic. 🤷♂️ All about gaining extra milliseconds to know what the car in front is going to do. I will take the middle if I feel like a car is likely to cut in on me, but I'd rather than a ready escape to the edges instead of getting trapped going straight at the middle of somebody's bumper in front.

It's so painful to watch people who can't seem to grasp that motorcycles are so small that they vanish into the background clutter. It's equally painful to watch people redline a small, aluminum engine with no load on it. This is why you don't buy a used motorcycle from anybody younger than 35.

0:31 The biker did that to themselves. You can't get upset at other drivers when you change lanes and accelerate that fast (past a car with its blinker on). No way the person changing from the left would have seen you.
There are these things called mirrors.
@@picklerick9578 Which the biker would not have been in being one lane farther to the right.
@@joec2078 So it's his fault that the car made a lane change without looking? You're an idiot.
@@picklerick9578 The point is, the other vehicle likely did look and saw an empty lane. The motorcycle made a sudden lane change that the other vehicle couldn't predict. People merging into the same lane on a multilane road like that can happen from time to time. Especially when at least one of the people involved is being impatient which the biker was. Yea, I called one of my crashes on a normal bike just a crash. I was going like 60mph straight in to a fence on a bridge. The bridge was ≈30 feet off the ground and it wasn’t water down there. So if I had gone just a bit faster I’d be dead rn
Uh uh, they Literally almost killed him bro!
These Muppets don't know what a near miss is. Try sliding sideways at 45mph as a car turns in front of you, missing its rear bumper and getting the bike back upright.

So many of these videos could have been avoided if the riders weren’t sitting in blind spots.
It is the responsibility of the driver changing lanes to make sure its safe, Mirrors, and shoulder check. No blind spot if you turn your neck. Like a rider is suppose to just move to accommodate every driver.

Yep the i will yank my wheel into a lane without checking because i had my head up my ass and didn't slow down far enough in advance move.
These Aholes don't care if they run someone off the road and kill them, just yank the wheel.
The other idiots would have been fine if everyone wasn't tailgating.
And...you're both stupid. There was a stalled vehicle, two cars behind him crashed into each other, THIRD car is the one that swerved into the lane to the right avoiding a crash. Don't believe me?
I'm off to the side since I don't want to get rear ended

It's so painful to watch people who can't seem to grasp that motorcycles are so small that they vanish into the background clutter. It's equally painful to watch people redline a small, aluminum engine with no load on it. This is why you don't buy a used motorcycle from anybody younger than 35.
