Thank you for this interesting video. In the Indian Orthodox Church, the tradition has been for women to stand on the right and men to stand on the left. It's interesting to see the differences.
@@laseryy4820 Hi. Most of the Orthodox Christians in India are located in a southwestern state known as Kerala. That is where the apostle Thomas is said to have preached the gospel in India in AD 52. Thus, these South Indian Christians are known as St. Thomas Christians. However, we are not the only St. Thomas Christians. Unfortunately, due to European imperialism, many schisms occurred, and now the vast majority of the St. Thomas Christians are Roman Catholic with other minority groups being Protestant denominations. To answer your question about issues with other religious groups, it depends on what part of India we're talking about. In the north, there may be more persecution by Hindu populations; however, in the South, especially Kerala, there is religious harmony between Hindus, Orthodox, and Muslims. So, the Orthodox, in general, face very little persecution. However, Christianity is a minority in India, making up about 2% of the population. Of these 28 million Christians, Orthodox only make up about 3 million. So, we are a minority inside a minority. Fortunately, we don't face much persecution. Hope that helps.
Making out is not acceptable. But when I first started in Orthodoxy, I was introduced to everyone Greeting one another with a Holy Kiss. It was different, but then it's in the Bible, saying Greet one another with a Holy Kiss. It was really different. The church was Antiochian, yet it's in communion with The Greek and other churches. Now intimate things shouldn't be. But if there's anything about greeting one another with a Holy Kiss, please let me know!
As always very helpful.
Thank you I am finding my way to the true church
God bless you on your journey!
@@annunciationorthodox I am originaly Jewish and I love the Orthodox church but I still really miss Judaism

Hey I always wondered what it is like to be an Orthodox in India..
Are there any problems with Hindu and Muslim populations?

@@adarshkunnel8532 Thank you for the answer! God bless you :)
@@adarshkunnel8532 thats probably because hiduism is extremely tolerant of other religions. Even though they all attack it as demon inspired.
