The person I am online is someone who I actually like as she's opened many doors for me... she's honestly an extension of my real self because I know who I am already without the presence of social media. This isn't something I've been able to distinguish throughout my 20's, and I'll admit that my mental health still presents some challenges at 30 years old compared to when I was in my 20's. I do feel like this talk was something I needed to hear because when it comes to boundaries with social media, they can get blurred, and then the energy you carry within yourself can start to bring about mixed views from other people. I guess this means that I need to find that healthy balance again...
My identity is in Christ. ... Before 2 years He came to my kitchen. I understood He is not just an Easter story, but He really died and rose and He IS alive. I also understood He is God which I did not know before. I felt love I have never felt before - creator - the love - Himself! Life giving and creating love. Wow! He showed me Satan and demons that they ARE real. I saw my sins and understood I need a saviour. So I repented and ask Him to help me and be my Lord. He gave me His Holy Spirit who dwells in me. He gave me peace that surpasses all understanding that the world cannot give. I KNOW I am going to Heaven and nothing will ever separate me from His love ♡ God is not religion nor denomination nor philosophy. God is alive. God is personal, you can talk to Him and He answers. His name is also Jesus. He loves us. Very much. He is the only way to life. Glory is to Him only. Amen.
Question to anyone into psychology: where do we draw the line between religious phenomena and delusion? As it stands, spiritual 'hallucinations' (not connected with religion) are connected with schizophrenia when tested through interviews. As far as I am aware, this is not the case with religious experiences unless they go against consistent belief (e.g., I was always an atheist until an angel began to visit me each night.) These experiences are shared across multiple religions and unless there is a consistent misunderstanding (these visitations are not of the Christian God, or the Muslim Allah, etc., but rather of a general deity or spiritual figure which is interpreted according to the individuals religion) thus making the experience not a delusion but rather a misconception - or these experiences are true hallucinations and are connected with delusions. I'd be intrigued to see the proportion of each religious demographic that experiences visual or auditory phenomena.
