Another fine nugget from your secret stash Davey. Can’t recall Mory playing with the WGJB before. Superb plus.

Thanks for posting this gem and no apologies needed re the sound quality after 55 years!. A great example of the swinging music the Jazz in the Troc/WGJB musicians produced in the Clancy Hayes years (1964-69). Clancy always played banjo (rather than guitar) with the band. Can you let me know whether there are any other Clancy vocals on the tape?, I am updating his vocal discography for inclusion in his biography that will be published later this year. Again, many thanks for the post. CHJ.

@@clancyhayesjazz8226 I’m very pleased that you enjoyed this post and I certainly look forward to a Clancy biography. Re: your query, of the 13 performances on my reel, Clancy sings on 3 other songs; St James Infirmary, Keepin’ Out of Mischief Now and Up a Lazy River.

@@daveytough8112 Thanks for the information. The Clancy vocal discography has a long version of St. James Infirmary (6.12) with a spoken introduction (explaining that the band will perform a special version with both Yank Lawson and Clancy featuring). I think it was issued as one side of a free disc with an Aspen magazine. I received it on a private CD which also has Clancy singing Michigan Water Blues and a band instrumental - I Cover The Waterfront. The tracks are noted as recorded in Aspen in 1964. Can you confirm the timing of your St. James Infirmary to clarify whether these are different recording. In any case the other two tracks are not in the discography so I will include them in the updated version which will be part of the biography. Will you be uploading them at some stage?, needless to say I hope so. Thanks again, regards Chris Reid.
