while it's possible to cut aluminum extrusions w/ a "skill saw" you get a cleaner cut with a miter saw. the saw in the factory is overkill. no clamps are necessary. a 200$ saw from Lowe's swinging a 60$ blade will make nice cuts forever. built screen enclosures using aluminum extrusions for 26 years, been there done that.
