Very nice... That machine could also be adapted with quite a lot of shielding and covers into a slideway grinder... That would be quite a simple mod, the most troublesome part would be scraping in the axes of the machine to less than 1 micron collective t.i.r. to make proper use of the grinding capacity...
I always avoided getting a shaper, or a planer, as i would be getting one purely for frivolous purposes, hell, i have had people talking me into getting one just for kicks, but this, my mechanicus brother, has been the best motivation and something that will eventually result in a planer in my shop... I just need to build a proper shop now, because i swarmed my current shop with machines as if they were fleas on a street dog... Thank you for the sight of this machine!
All the best and warmest regards!

P.s. consider lap honing that shearing tool to mirror finish... The better the tool edge surface finish, the finer the cut surface finish... It would be nice seeing a near mirror finish off a shaper - those small shaper artifact lines in the surface plus the mirror finish between them would give off quite the ``old instrument`` surface finish...

Thanks for your input! Always nice to contribute to some inspiration!
The tool is a bit sharp, but the hot rolled steel ain't the 1st choice for mirror finish 😉
Here I was really just wanting to test the overall working tolerance of it.
Which led my to the next video 😉
      Welcome!

@@henrikandren6967 oh, why, thanks for posting about such a lovely machine... It`s just the right size for a larger hobby shop, and it`s bloody brilliant in ways in which it can be modified... One could adapt both a grinder head and a mill head to the body of this machine and she would become a ridiculously versatile beast in a shop, all the while taking very little space for the range of work offered... I`m in love my dude...
      All the best!
