ŠKODA has further refined the SUPERB’s front section. Visual modifications give the top model even more of a presence. a new front bumper means the vehicle’s length has increased by 8 mm to 4,869 mm in the ŠKODA SUPERB, and by 6 mm to 4,862 mm in the ŠKODA SUPERB COMBI. The wheelbase measures 2,841 mm, whilst the car’s width is 1,864 mm. Its height is 1,469 mm, or 1,477 mm in the COMBI. Ranging from 625 to 1,760 l in the ŠKODA SUPERB and 660 to 1,950 l in the ŠKODA SUPERB COMBI, the boot capacity remains the very best in the segment. The ŠKODA-typical radiator grille now bears double slats, is larger and protrudes a little further down into the front apron. The narrower headlights - with LED technology as standard for the dipped and high beam, daytime running lights and position light - now reach the grille; the LED fog lights have been redesigned too.
A chrome trim in the front air inlet surrounds and connects the LED fog lights. In addition to the horizontal chrome trim, which connects the full LED tail lights, the new ‘ŠKODA’ block lettering also catches the eye at the rear. As part of the optional ambient lighting, LED spotlights project ‘ŠKODA’ onto the ground when the doors are opened. Completing the update in terms of visuals, eight new 18‑ and 19-inch alloy wheels - two of which come in the Aero design - and the colours Crystal Black and Race Blue have been added to the range of customisation options.
The interior of the ŠKODA SUPERB appears refined and elegant thanks to new chrome highlights on the door handles as well as levers, coupled with ambient lighting on the dashboard. Also new are the seat covers in the Ambition and Style trim levels, as well as contrasting stitching on the leather and Alcantara® seats and the armrests in the doors. The colour of the stitching matches: brown in the SCOUT, pale grey in the SPORTLINE and black in the top-of-the-line L&K. Ambient lighting illuminates the storage compartments below the armrests as well as the front and rear footwells. Using the optional keyless vehicle entry system (KESSY), now any one of the car’s four doors can be opened first; the KESSY GO start button is available as standard for the first time. The ŠKODA SUPERB SCOUT, ŠKODA SUPERB SPORTLINE and ŠKODA SUPERB L&K are fitted with KESSY for all four doors as standard.
In addition to the optional Virtual Cockpit, which allows the driver to select different displays for the instrument panel and navigation maps, the ŠKODA SUPERB offers a choice of three infotainment systems - two of which have a navigation function? The Bolero infotainment system and the Amundsen navigation infotainment system, including maps on an SD card, each come with an 8-inch touchscreen. The Columbus infotainment system features a 9.2-inch touchscreen, a DVD player as well as gesture and voice control. The hard drive provides the navigation map and plenty of space for storing music and videos. All of the systems come with SmartLink technology for Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and MirrorLink™ as standard; this allows selected smartphone apps to be operated via the infotainment system’s display. A SIM card provides permanent Internet access as well as a Wi-Fi hotspot and enables use of the wide range of ŠKODA Connect mobile online services.
The new 2.0 TDI delivering 110 kW (150 PS) is the Czech brand’s first diesel from the new EVO generation of engines. In comparison to its predecessor, several aspects have been optimised, including the crankshaft assembly and the exhaust, turbo, fuel-injection and thermo-management systems. This results in a lower weight and fewer emissions as well as reduced fuel consumption. In the upgraded SUPERB, the 2.0 TDI producing 110 kW (150 PS) is available with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed DSG and fulfils the Euro 6d-TEMP emissions standard.
A real highlight of the new ŠKODA SUPERB is its full LED Matrix headlights. ŠKODA’s flagship is the manufacturer’s first production model to offer this technology as an option. The system generates a light beam consisting of several segments, which are controlled individually. This allows drivers to have the high beam on at all times without dazzling other road users. The intelligent technology uses the camera on the windscreen to detect oncoming traffic and vehicles driving in front of the car as well as people and objects reflecting the light.
The control unit then immediately turns off individual segments of the light beam to effectively prevent others from being dazzled. The animated Coming/Leaving Home function adds a special visual touch.

@@turek737 for sure it worths. I had same dilemma. And at the end Superb was my choice . mostly due to quality of an interior details and i did not want mild hybrid petrol as mandatory choice for DSG in Octavia (maybe it depends on market). If you do not care about more hard plastic in Octavia and you are okay with almost no button interior, then Octavia is enough for you an for same money you will get bit more. But at the end Superb is class above.
@@MAJKL Thanks m K, I would like to have something more reliable than Tsi engine with DSG but nothing is more spacious and functional than Skoda (I have currently Octavia 1.8tsi with dsg). Skoda is like a good old pair of shoes (btw we are on the same boat. I'm also not a big fan of a hybrids. We don't really need them. I thought I'm odd).
I was hoping to see whether the 2nd row would REALLY fold all the way flat with the head rests extended. I suspect it actually doesn't. A long flat floor is import to me, I want to stow a bed under the false floor.
I cant remember exactly but probably will not be 100% flat 👍
