Hi Chris, I’ve been watching your videos for a while, me and my old man are just like you and yours we run coaches and buses down in the south west. The old man’s been in the industry since he was 14 and now 66 still going strong doing 70+ hrs a week, it’s great to watch your video and see we’re not the only ones in the struggle and relate to your day to day. Unfortunately I’ve got more time to watch your videos at the moment as I’ve had to put the daily struggle on hold for a bit while I deal with the cancer struggle. My old man came over to see me today and I’d been telling him about you so I put on one of your videos to watch. We had a great laugh knowing how you feel. Thanks for making the videos and keep struggling! Dan
Cheers Dan it means a lot mate! Your old man sounds like a character, something I’ve never worked on is buses but I here there a nightmare 🤦🏼♂️, sorry to here about that mate bet it makes every other problem in life seem small! I hope you’ll be ok mate 👍 keep fighting 💪
I do my best mechanic work when I’m swearing and that’s what life is all about ! When everything falls apart at once you have laugh and swear . Great Video again Chris! Thanks for sharing a day of the great struggler 👍
Great video Chris, nothing better than true to life, nothing wrong with swearing, providing its not being used as abuse to someone 😀 nice to see you at D&J watch there channel also, keep the laughter coming, woòo wooo👍😂
Thats why we love your Channel Chris, real down to earth good old fashioned lifes reality, Great Vids Great family super stuff keep on the struggle matey.. Oh and little birdie what a cutie .. She will be on the spanners soon..
I swear as soon as I open my eyes. It's good for the soul. Keep making honest videos chris it shows people that life is not always the way we expect it👍👍
Nice one Chris. Always keep a sense of humour. Whilst repairing a large food packing machine at work i was inundated with all the crew asking how long it would be. I told the team leader the " Giggling pin" was broken. With a straight face they wrote this down in the breakdown log book. All very funny---------until the next day at the morning meeting when the operator stated that they had lost 1.5 hrs whilst i repaired the Giggling pin. I was then asked to explain what this pin was and could i write a procedure to inspect it regularly. 😱😂
on these jump packs, they auto detect the voltage on the car battery to check the leads are the correct way round. when the your battery is dead it obviously cant. so you have to hold the switch down and override them to turn the jump pack on.
I am 63 and I retired from full time work as a crane electrician in a steel plant.. I miss the lads but not the climbing and the winter shut downs on the docks. But you right Chris, I got bored and now I run my own business with my own Chevy Struggle Van
Good morning Chris, Your battery has what is more commonly known as a parasitic draw. This is normally caused buy a piece of electrical equipment staying awake during the night. You have to find the piece of equipment causing the problem or the battery will be knackered pretty quick. To do this you will need a digital clamp on ammeter. With everything turned off place the ammeter on the battery cable and see how many amps are being drawn from the battery you will then need to find where that current is going. Do this with your digital voltmeter check the voltage across each fuse. You are looking for a very small millivoltage reading of 2-4 mV or higher. When you find a fuse that is showing a current flow, find out what it is supplying and then try pulling that fuse and see if the parasitic draw falls. You can normally expect a draw of no more than 0.020 amps at the battery. Keep checking all fuses until you are down to the above level and then you will have a good idea what is flattening your battery. Quite often the problem is a computer module, like the abs module that has a fault and keeps the ECU awake and alot of other equipment with it. So the fuse test could be difficult to pinpoint the issue. If it is a module you may require a vehicle diagnostics tech to look at the vehicle CAN-BUS to see if it is going to sleep or not, this has to be done with an oscilloscope. But if I was you I would do the simple fuse checks first. Try watching "pine hollow auto diagnostics" on UA-cam he's excellent. He also uses a thermal detecting camera to see the heat being caused by the fault. Good luck Keith
Everyone swears. Only issue with some UA-camrs try keeping it all pg, your channel is brilliant as you can see and hear it's all natural showing your daily struggle. Another great video Chris, keep the struggling coming WOO WOO
I drive past them flats every week and always thought to myself how has nobody took them on to revamp. I saw them in one of your video title screens and watched the vid purely to see if it was owt to do with the Chanel . So glad I did now keep on struggling 👍
They sell those Sanys at Union farm equipment. I've been meaning to stop and try one out. They have loaders and rollers. I wonder about parts availability.
Hi chris, another fantastic video from you loved it,so really good to see all 3 of the best youtubers out there, yourself,d&j & b&p paving,I came to your channel from d&j and found b&p paving from d&j also so it's great to see youall helping each other, what you were saying about retirement to the b&p lads is right y dad worked hard all his life and retirement at 66 then not even a year in he passed away so makes you think doesn't it,have a great week chris if you can in this horrible weather 🤠🙂👍
Fanatic vidoe mate you did a great job doing all them jobs at Daves D&J projects and you still have more to fix lol you have a good channel and the swearing doesn’t bother me at all that’s what real life is all about lol keep up the good work mate and can’t wait to see you go back to daves to do all them other jobs he’s got for you lol.
I've got a halfords version of that topdon starter and I have to say Chris what a machine. Aslong as battery is 100% it will turn over my land-rover td5 no problem
This is the first time I've watched your videos but I knew about you from D&J and then again with B&P. Aren't a copy of Senior Struggler? You're right, we never see Senior Dave on D&J either, I've been following them almost since they started the You Tube stuff. Cheers bud and about swearing, if people don't like it, they don't have to watch it. I was just thinking that sometimes when I watch children might be around me and that could be the reason some people may be complaining. For me, whatever makes you and your channel genuine is what matters, the rest is all talk. Cheers and GOD BLESS.
Chris,i watched the jim holden vid again last night, hes so interesting, you want to send your dad over to see him,i bet they they could burn some diesel over a cup of tea 😆,its great to meet people with similar interests that will spend the time to talk,so many people in to much of a hurry these days.great vid with 2 x top blokes👍👍
Great video Chris. Them topdon are good I've got a slightly older one it's called a volcano 1500 it's worked every time I've used it. Mine is about 15 or 16volts fully charged so when the starter kicks in it pulls the voltage down to nearer 12v to start. My m8 used to use his 18v makita battery to jump start his works van two big washers and jump leads the starter pulls the 18 volts down to nearer the 12 and it works if the vehicle starts well. Plus there useful power bank mine has 2x usb and a cigarette lighter socket to plug in. Keep it fully charged it will serve you well m8.
That was the best promo a company could ask for! I have a similar product and I too was amazed. Woo woo. I actually installed a ground switch on my van as I don’t drive it often enough and the battery goes flat. That is a fair price too
Hi Chris ....nice to see David dropping off the wood FOC what a great guy and I wish I lived closer as I'd of had some off D and J ....plenty of uses before it turns to heat!! Everyone swears and I like swearing ...if people don't (£uck off I say 🤣🤣🤣). It's a working channel this not white collar .... As for retirement .... it's wonderful!! Thanks Gary! Yeah should think it is nice not having to be ruled by the clock mate! As long as you keep busy doing something, there a good bunch of lads! Have a good Sunday mate and keep busy 🤣👍👍
Wonderful video again Chris! I'm not sure if it would speed up your brake adjusting, but when you have the drum off you could quickly extend the adjuster and check it by putting the drum over the shoes, slip it off, extend, drum on again, check, off, extend and so on instead of having to turn the pesky adjuster with the screw driver the whole way. Just a thought from a sofa in Canada. Cheers!
My dad told me 55 years ago that many a good conversation was spoiled for want of a few Fu-ks. 😂 and has I spent all my working life repairing trucks it was good advice.
