I noticed in the trailer that Peter doesn't treat Miles like a douche but is dismissive of him. I also noticed that besides the anger there was a pinch of anxiety.
I like that so much, since it feels like its gonna be a more gradual change that we will get to see develop over the story.
and thats definitely not the first time peter uses the suit... he would not be so angry using it for the first time, when miles says 'new threats?' i think that's not the real dialogue in the scene

This sounds weird but while the avengers exist in this universe it feels like Spider-Man is in his own universe you know what I mean? Like his universe is big enough to carry huge stories and events without a single avenger or outside party showing up to make things interesting. And the fact that Spider-Man can take on these big threats on his own or sometimes get help from his own friend group is incredible in of itself.
That’s what I’ve always loved about Spider-Man. Carrying the weight of New York on his shoulders (besides the defenders and any avengers present) and now he has his protege Miles to lean on in crisis like this.

@@NHTube1 In my mind, they are equal, you don't have to hate on one just because you like another better. For me, I find Spider-Man to be superior graphically, but both games are the same in that they are made by developers that entirely understand the feeling of these characters and what they represent, and the Spider-Man game was in large part heavily inspired by the Arkham games, both of which will always have a place in my heart.

I gotta say, taking obscure Spider-Man villains and re-purposing them as Miles villains is actually genius. One of my biggest problems with Miles is his lackluster rogues gallery
They do need to throw some new guys in there though so as not to make it look like miles is just getting peters hand me downs
@@ComicWriter-ml3qtto be fair, most of the times he gets a hand-me-down villain from Peter, the villain turns out way more interesting and impressive than when they were a villain to Peter, case in point: The Spot
Peter has such a huge rogues gallery, it would be so easy to transplant a few to Miles. Lady Ock and the Spot really shine fighting Miles in his movies.
One of my favorite one-shot baddies is Conundrum. He's basically a mid-eastern Riddler. It'd be awesome to see Miles tangle with a puzzle villain.
By turning a joke character like the spot a big deal was a game changer, in a way miles also got some spotlight for the prowler too, but i think would be a little hard finding old spiderman villains with creative powers like the spot, but miles definitely needs more proper enemies, peter already has too many to deal with lol, throwing original villains too in the mix would be great
I think Curt Connors fits in this universe in a very organic way. Peter has worked for other brilliant scientists trying to change the world, like Octavius in the first game. Octavius is in jail and Peter needs a new job. Working for/with Connors looks like the perfect fit.

I agree lol I was kinda scared I was the only one. It's just fun to see Peter become what he tries not to be. It gives the symbiote a scary sort of vibe that it's not just the power but the lack of will
Im with you about the lizard but honestly it's not a deal breaker for me, kraven and venom are iconic as hell and i can't wait to see what insomniac is doing with them.

It's incredible how effortless Insomniac makes this look. Keeping classic Kraven, Pete and Miles's relationship, retelling the Symbiote story while actually adding some nuance to it (I was also exhausted of the black suit narrative/Venom in general, so imagine my surprise when this trailer dropped and actually got me excited). And I'm the opposite of you, I think Connors is a fascinating character in Spidey's supporting cast. They've just been writing terrible stories with him for the last 20 or so years. So despite his generic look (not even a hint of his lab coat, Insomniac, really?), I'm super excited to see what kind of emotional depth this writing team gives his story.
I love how the Spider-Verse movies and mainline Insomniac games are coinciding with each other again. Just like 2018, Spidey fans are going to eat _good_ this year.

Completely agree, looks like they're really trying to flesh out the characters and the world and I think they'll do a good job with it. Connors might have the lab coat in the beginning tbf, don't think he's making trips to the tailor as he grows lol

Kraven is gonna end up being the host for Venom. He's gonna be obsessed in hunting Peter, and since Eddie Brock hasn't fully shown up yet, it would make the most sense for the storyline. Especially when the symbiote usually doesn't trigger Spidey's spider sense. Would make for some really cool and creepy set pieces.
This theory doesn't make much sense, because Reveal Trailer hints Venom being the ultimate adversary of Kraven, the one Kraven was searching for for so long.

I think Eddie Brock may actually show up and be Venom. This game may be a lot longer than the first in order to develop this story, and if the symbiote is removed from Harry, it's kinda weird to have it just go back to him and him become Venom. Lizard is a decent catalyst for Kraven's presence, I don't expect him to be too prominent. It's also funny how this plot is so similar to the Lizard/Kraven stuff from the Spider-Man 3 movie game.
honestly i wouldn’t put it past insomniac to have peter become venom, even if it’s only a partial transformation. they’re known for misdirecting us and i’m sure they’ve known ever since the first games post credit scene that we’d be debating on if venom would be harry or eddie, having peter become venom and miles having to defeat him would be a total surprise for a lot of fans. after defeating him miles would convince him to give up the symbiote suit, then the symbiote could attach to harry or eddie and come back in its full form for revenge against peter for abandoning it or something like that

@@SuperOtakuKyo I think we'll definitely have a more Venom Esque Peter fight Miles as a boss fight, but I do think they'll have a proper Venom character as well that Peter will fight using the Spider Iron Arms. I hope Venom is Eddie Brock and not Harry, cause if Harry turns evil and then subsequetly dies, it feels too much like retreading the first game.

The bond between Miles and Peter is probably what I'm most looking forward to in the game. As mentioned in the video, Miles will have a front row seat to Symbiote Spider-man, it will be interesting to see him react to his friend/ mentor becoming a darker version of himself. As for Peter, given all he went through in the first game, losing Aunt May and Doc Ock, Harry's failing health, officer Yuri's fall, I would imagine all of this will have a snowball effect on him, which will be fully heightened with the Symbiote suit.
All these elements lends itself to a Symbiote story that's familiar yet different from past Spider-man retellings of the story. I also like how the rouges gallery looks to be more primal than the first game, almost like a paralel to what Peter will deal with. I mean Lizard, Kraven, and Venom? One can argue that those 3 are the most physically gruelling of Spider-man's enemies.
In closing, im excited for this game, Insomiac seems to know what they are doing with their take on the Spider-man mythos, im looking forward to a fun web slinging time once the game is out

(TL;DR at the bottom) Where I agree with you on Lizard (Dr. Connors) not being a very interesting villain to pull off, I think many people overlook the beginning scenes with Kraven.
I think the Lizard isn't a primary antagonist, but rather one of the many smaller animal centric characters Kraven is hunting. We see on the tablet Kraven receives in the jungle many targets. I wouldn't be surprised if this is one of two things.
1). Known entities with ties to Spider-man. This could be how Kraven flushes Spider-man out. He isn't necessarily there FOR Lizard, but is using him. This could even be a nice setup for Eddie Brock, research partner version, to be introduced and delve into Peter's non-existent connection to both him, Connors, and his time at ESU. Maybe even researching the symbiote with Eddie at a lab similar to the Octavius Industries mini-game? The animal connection is primarily focused due to Kraven's nature and some of the people on the tablet (Black Cat, The Lizard, The Prowler, etc) that all have some personal tie to him.
Obviously the animal parallels are a stretch since a lot of antagonists from the first game are there too (Tombstone and Taskmaster), but this can be attributed to data collection rather then his actual list of prey.
2). If, and this is a big if, Venom is Harry Osborn.. We cannot rule out the possibility that the symbiote gives him the knowledge of whom Spider-man truly is. That is how Eddie was able to find out his identity way back when too (specifically referencing the Spectacular Spider-man series). This could lead credit to the idea that Kraven, armed with the knowledge of who Spider-man is, teams up in the climax. Or, I propose a BOLD theory.
2.5). What if that shot of Venom from the first trailer was the symbiote bonded with Kraven? I don't think it's beyond the realm of possibility that they take that turn with him. It would be a twist not many people are expecting. But wouldn't that make for the apex predator? A vengeful, dejected alien beast attaching to what is possibly the worlds strongest hunter? A venom infused Kraven might be the secondary final boss (Peter in too deep with the black suit being the first) and a twist. They could be playing on the fact people assume it's Harry, but in fact it's non-other then the face of the game and the secret antagonist in Venom collaborating against the two.
This could do some really crazy thematic stuff. A lot of people miss the line in the gameplay trailer where they reference the Lizard as a potential cure for Harry. I don't think Harry will be a villain. He will be the Aunt May ticking clock for the later stages of the game.
I know this is a long post but this is my secondary, story related theory. Kraven comes to NYC in search of Spider-man. He uses people who seemingly have close relations to the Spider-men (Black Cat, Prowler, Miles Morales (Spider-man's assumed "sidekick")) to draw him out. Perhaps Kraven overwhelms Peter and the first battle is a draw. This is where the symbiote, perhaps it is introduced early in the story, bonds with him. Over time Kraven amps up his game. Either out of boredom or to draw Peter out he begins hunting other prey once again. This could lead in to Lizard. After "saving" some of his rogues gallery we get another clash with Kraven where Spider-man defeats Kraven with the help of the black suit.
This ultimately leads into the two Spider-men clashing to save Peter from the suit. After Miles wins, either by circumstances or through his own strength, the suit is rejected and either retreats or gets re-contained. Kraven, noticing the strength different pre and post symbiote, decides to level up by either bonding with it or taking it from it's containment. This puts Harry's cure and Kraven's "Last Hunt" of Spider-man as the final set piece to the story.
Through the combined efforts of the team, and perhaps even with collaboration with Norman and Dr. Connors, a cure is created and Harry is saved. But this is short-lived as Venom powered Kraven comes after Peter. Armed with the knowledge of who Spider-man is he attacks the only people Peter has connections to; F.E.A.S.T, Mary Jane Watson, and the Osborns. He draws Peter back out, with the aid of Miles, and they both combine their strengths (both tying the themes of Peter working alone and Miles supporting him as an equal), back to the first trailer and leading to them finally defeating both Venom and Kraven.
I'm not saying this is what will happen. This is MAJOR theory territory and it isn't airtight whatsoever. But I truly love not just Spider-man, but Marvel as an IP. I've played through Marvel's Spider-man too many times and watched the trailers extensively for the new one aha. This is just my crackpot ramblings.
TL;DR: Crazy theory that is probably wrong. Kraven uses Spider-mans rogues gallery, thematically ones with animal themes, to draw him out. They fight, it's a draw, Harry and the symbiote are setup in the first act to give him the suit. Later on Kraven is hunting again and slowly Peter is losing himself to the suit. He uses the suit to beat Kraven, but Miles then beats him and saves him from the suit. The end of the game will be you curing Harry at last, tying up the plot thread from the first game, but even bringing Connors in with potentially the aid of an aligned Norman. Kraven infused with the symbiote uses the newfound knowledge of Peter's identity (ala symbiote knowledge impression) and uses his loved ones and friends to flush him out again. Peter and Miles beat Kraven-Venom and it ends with their teamwork renewed and validated as equals.
Maybe, just maybe, the ending would setup... oh I don't know... The Green Goblin? Perhaps having to do with potential cures for Harry or some such? Goblin's pretty hot right now thanks to Far From Home so.. you never know ;) Could even use a Lizard infusion DNA cure that mimics the Green Goblin in both the Into the Spiderverse movie and the Ultimate Spider-man comics. But that's REALLY stretching it.

The first game absolutely blew me away. I was shocked at how much I loved it so this will definitely be a day one buy from me.
I think it’d be super cool if some of the random crimes around the city involved some lesser known villains instead of just no-name thugs. Like you’re swinging around and just find someone like Leap-Frog or Slyde robbing a bank.

Kraven is gonna be so BADASS as the main antagonist or at least one of the main antagonists of the game. I assume it’ll follow the same format as the last one where Kraven like Negative Man was the bug bad until Dock Ock showed up. And in this case it’ll be a venom tho I wonder if we’ll see Eddie Brock in this game? Kinda hope it’s not just Harry becoming a venom monster but we’ll see I have faith esp in them nailing kraven

Yea this was something that was talked about in the community long before the Miles Morales game was even made.

I think swinging normally will always have simple animations like the ones in the first game. the bulk of the animations come from the trick system and swinging after preforming crazy tricks and if its anything like miles moralis then I think were in for some really cool animations.

Something that I'd like from the swinging mech upgrade is some version of Web Rush from the TASM games, climbing up the web ropes, using multiple roles for slingshot while in air, and ground/water interaction while swinging.

Whilst under the influence of the black suit - SM protects Lizard from Kraven whilst Harry bubbles over into an antagonist.

"Venom is the second half villain is completely wrong." If you pay attention to Venom's voice you'll realize it's actually Kraven's voice. Secondly, Venom says "All this years I have looked for an equal, somebody who could beat me..." This sounds like kraven, because we know that he went to New York to find an equal, somebody that could beat him. I think after Peter gets rid of the suit, the symbiote will attach to kraven so he can become the greatest predator.
One thing I will have to agree is that I definitely can see the villains being the center of Peter and Miles attention in halves. I too was wondering why Venom wasn’t in the trailer but after watching informative videos like this and others it’s definitely going to be another transition of storylines that will cross together seamlessly!

The Lizard has always been my favorite spidey villain. I’ve always found him to be one of his most sympathetic antagonists, a good man trying to do the right thing, but those good intentions turn him into an uncontrollable monster. So I’m hyped to see him, and I love the idea of him continuing to mutate and grow more monstrous as the story progresses.
With the Lizards new design and Kraven hunting him, I wouldn’t be surprised if they were adapting elements of the “SHED” comic storyline… which is a new (All be it very dark) story to tell with the character.
I’m interested to see what conners storyline we get as well.

I have a couple of theories if anybody cares.
Peter has had the suit before and already went through his bully maguire saga. Given that he was hesitant to answer when Yuri asked him if he had a black suit. And Oscorp somehow acquired the symbiote giving it to Harry.
Harry somehow escapes and runs into Peter *plot insues*.
The only way to save Harry is with Connors juices and quickie between Peter and the symbiote.
Surprise, surprise, Connors juices + symbiote were not the answer. In fact it only made more questions.

If we're talking deep cuts, I want some Vermin, Shriek (was happy to see her in Spider-Man 3 game), Overdrive (perfect chase-themed side-villain), Black Tarantula... I know Will O' the Wisp is deeper than those, but he's also deeper than Mister Negative haha. But also give me Big Wheel, and I'm not being funny, I actually would love Big Wheel in a game, like it'd be so campy and ridiculous but also has legitimate potential from a gameplay standpoint. Spot would be insane, like you'd have to incorporate Portal gameplay essentially.
I really just want better side missions. I'm fine with Harry being Venom, since it fits with the story they're setting up and leads into Norman as Goblin in a third game.
I agree with you on there needing more variety of the city, from the crime to interactions with the citizens, and maybe interaction with buildings. Buildings as in buying stuff from them, going into peter mode than Spidey all the time, have it where Peter can interact and report a crime, you chase after it by switiching, idk, but it'd be cool.
this game will probably go the ultimate universe origin for venom, an attempt an a cancer cure (or harry's condition) that gained sentience

PS4 Spider-Man is one of my favorite games in a while, and I like hearing your thoughts on where we’re at with the new one. Definitely looking forward to this one.
Here's one way to build from the 2018 game: you remember all those sections where you play as someone without powers, like MJ and Miles? Take any section like those and make them skippable, shorter, or cut them out completely. Never in my playthroughs of that game have I thought, "Oh wow! I'm glad I can't do all that fun stuff I'd be able to do as Spider-Man for a while, and instead play a bare-bones stealth section as MJ!" Like aight, just cut down on that and focus on building upon the fun stuff you can do as being both Spider-Men.
It's almost like having a Hulk game where you have fun playing as the Hulk for a while, then it switches to a boring Bruce Banner mission for a bit. Oh wait... that actually happened.

Was thinking the other day that what if Norman becomes Venom and it leads to him getting that alter ego that leads him to green goblin.
One theory I’ve had bouncing around in my head non-stop is that we won’t get Eddie Brock, Flash Thompson, or even Harry Osborne as venom, but instead Peter Parker would eventually turn into Venom. Would give a good reason to keep the black suit for the whole game, gameplay loop wise, and fit in with the final part of the trailer of his mask’s eyes sort of “Curving”
Watching a movie is way easier than playing a game(it consumes a lot more time) if helping you with getting more views do game reviews too. You had a great take and did a wonderful review of previous Spiderman games

COMBAT:
Fov slider to make not just combat but
gameplay in general more immersive, or exhilarating with a zoomed out one
Make the basic combat animations different, as so far they seem very similar, we as players have gotten used to these animations for years now and would like something faster, more eccentric, and sleek, with more variation in between.
Make the enemy impact and effects of Spider-Man’s power more noticeable, ex: enemies flying further, more imbalanced and affected by punches, overall feel etc.
Let’s Spider-Man interact with the environment more
Make more web creativity abilities such as making a web net that traps a bunch of enemies in a wide area or sticks them to be immobile, let us use a manual web line to restrain and immobilize enemies to various objects, or make it so whenever you shoot a web when they are near a wall, part of their body gets stuck until the final amount of webs webs them completely like the first game.
And let us use web lines to parkour and get creative and let us maneuver around our own webs to fight enemies. Another is say a slingshot attack where you can slingshot yourself, enemies, objects etc.
Take inspiration from web of shadows, let us have more genuine combos to execute cool moves and allow the freedom and fluidity that game has to have follow up attacks such as the web-zip following into many different options to toy with the enemy.
Make a new defensive/evasive system that has multilels levels to it. For example the dodge, press dodge one and you will slightly tilt your body to avoid the attack (similar to Jedi survivors perfect dodg) so that you don’t have to completely move out of the vicinity but instead you can keep momentum with your attacks, then Double press dodge to perform an evasive dodge more akin to the first two games, and then of course keep the follow up with the jump button after. I know we can parry now and that’s great, but could we potentially block some attacks? Would be more engaging instead of always having to dodge.
New dodging animations that are more acrobatic and sleek
Make the dodge have less delay so that it is more free flowing and there isn’t a pause after the dodge is done, where you are waiting to get back up again and you can keep moving after the dodge,
also make the distance traveled while evading or any move in general higher and more exhilarating and let us have more control over movement in general because that is a huge aspect for Spider-Man.
Let us redirect attacks, pretty simple
Make the abilities have more actual utility and effect, for example, the web pull ability in the first game barely moves the enemy, it should be where most enemies can be pulled straight to you, or at least be able to sweep their legs or something with the webs
Very specific, but for throwing objects and enemies, let us use our hands as well to manually throw them and bigger objects like web of shadows has, and make the wind up for these animations non existent, and make them very short for example, throwing an object with your webs isn’t a 2 second spin, but rather a quick1 or 2 handed toss or throw so that it is more satisfying and quick.
Also try to integrate parkour more inside of combat such as leaping over enemies and bouncing between them, over and under poles, walls etc (reminds me, make more moves/abilities where we can target more than one person) to show Spider-Man’s finesse and movement.
beat down ability sort of like the new one seen in the trailer where you can execute a flurry of attacks very quickly depending on the status of the enemy and situation
Minor gripe but make some animations like idle ones, running, less awkward and more natural
TRAVERSAL:
I am going to quickly list random abilities that would help diversify the traversal, then I will go more in depth of bigger changes/fixes
Loop de loop around cranes,poles etc
Pole swinging vertically and horizontally
Slingshot (mid air) or up a building
Cool idea to use the web liken mechanic to make your own “pole” to loop de loop and swing off of
Climbing up web
Double armed web swings to propel more force forwards and do other things like
attaching both webs to two buildings and swinging your body to build, momentum and releasing
Sliding and skiing on surfaces (sunset over drive)
More elastic web physics
Now, for the more in-depth and drastic changes, you should incorporate swinging modes with “classic” being more, classic to the first two games, and “expert/realistic“ mode incorporating more physics-based swinging example: webs can be bent by buildings, webs, move and contort in different directions, momentum plays a greater role, and is harder yet skillful and rewarding, and the biggest change would be to allow us to manually aim where we shoot our webs at (sort of like Fortnite) to control, where, in win, you are aiming to swing and calculate your trajectory because honestly, this was a game changer in Fortnite, and felt much more manual and fun and made you feel in control
Also, improve wall traversal to give us more options in freedom
And for parkour, this needs a serious overhaul to make it more manual instead of just holding the R2 button and keep the momentum built up and free-flowing and letting us do more things combine with webswinging and parkour like skiing on rails in sliding against things.
Overall, i’m recommending these things, because I really do care about this franchise and think it will be elevated to a level where the game actually feels like a huge upgrade and not just a “DLC“ with the power of the PS5, the fact that you already have the blueprint and structure of the game done, you have had 3 to 4 years of development, and lots of feedback I somewhat expect there to be a huge shift in gameplay, because I have no doubt your second game will be good, and great even, but if it doesn’t raise the bar a significant amount, then I don’t feel like it can truly be amazing
You are right these are good points. The swinging should definitely work with physics letting the web take you and not moving before the web is even attached.
