Guys, I truly cannot thank you enough for your incredible content and the immense effort you put into your work. The dedication you show every day in covering issues from all over the world is absolutely remarkable. I’ve never come across a channel like yours, and I’m so grateful that you’re here on UA-cam. Your format is fantastic, and the balance in your coverage is something I deeply admire. It’s rare to find a channel that approaches topics with such fairness and depth, and I genuinely appreciate how thoughtful and unbiased your videos are. I’ve been consuming your content almost daily, and it’s clear how much time, energy, and care goes into each and every video. Thank you, thank you, thank you for all that you do! Your hard work doesn’t go unnoticed, and I truly wish you all the best. Please keep up the amazing work you’re doing an exceptional job, and I look forward to everything you’ll continue to share.
Honestly my favorite UA-cam channel for News. There may be a bias for British politics, but as an American I find these extremely unbias for most things. Plus the animators are top notch!
There is a slight bias against the current government. But that was the same under the conservatives. I'm right leaning and finding them highly impartial. People need to get a grip.
The fact that TLDR sit down and talk through these comments is really refreshing compared to others news sources. And, hopnestly, I feel like you're not only trustworthy but also a bit like friends (not the awful sitcom, actual human beings you'd happily hang out with). Anyway, sugary-sweetness over, more Shrek, my dear chaps and chapesses!
Seriously, the refusal to pronounce "Kamala" correctly -- for no apparent reason -- has been really frustrating for the whole of the US election campaign this year. It isn't a regional accent difference. It's /ˈkɑːmələ/. Say /ɑː/ as in "father", not /æ/ as in "apple".
TLDR is doing a pretty good job. It is impossible for any channels covering current affairs worldwide to be 100% neutral. It's slightly left-leaning (as is generally the case for people in the journalism profession) but most of the time I find their episodes informative rather than skewing to a particular wing. The length of each episode is just right though for some more complex issues the episode can be slightly longer. The messages are very clear and easily taken home. I love your British accent. Frankly speaking I don't agree with most criticisms you've listed here. Please keep up with your good job!
No complaints here, you're one of my go to info channels. Nobody is perfect but by and large your info is pretty straightforward. Impartial information is why I'm subscribed. Also, your ads/monetization is pretty stellar. Lastly, your like to dislike ratio is consistently overwhelmingly positive, so I think the majority are enjoying the content as well.
The issue with the sources, it's a matter of putting it in the video itself, a little notification when you bring it up reminding that the source is in the description, just a little thing on the corner saying "source in description: footnote X" a lot of people won't ever open the description unless they're prompted to because it's usually where the legal copypasta is and nobody wants to read that.
Evening news on our commercial TV Nova are known to be structured: "Catastrophe, scandal, blood, blood, blood, cute animal, sport, weather." I reckon the cute animal is always there if it's too laborious to find an uplifting story.
Thanks for this video and for your work. The fact that you face criticism with this spirit and the professionality you show day by day makes me remember there's tons of great journalists out there. A hug from Spain. (PS: Too long is in the three wise men list)
Keep making these videos. They make you seem human, which you funnily are ;). Being able to see you argue, smile and laugh is refreshing and keeps TLDR on a different level/vibe. These kinds of videos will help you make others more understanding and remember to always stay true to yourself. Your commitment is very important, especially when the majority, in the western world, have lost their trust in big media/traditional media. Stay true, keep working and kudos to you💪💪
Love love love you guys !! The spelling mistakes were the only things that I would find a little distracting but I can see that you’ve improved significantly - keep being you and all your quirks, humour and Britishness are part of the joy of your videos that keep me coming back. Love from Oz 🇦🇺 ❤
Your presentations are amazing, nothing boring about you all. And it's good in journalism/reporting that you guys are monotonous and only emphasize on stuff that really matters, this is not a drama show or whatever. Love you guys
Love the suite of channels. One thing that i really like is the choice of font (typeface to be precise). Clear and aesthetically pleasing - a superb choice. I really like how one line transitions to the next, where the vowels in the first line move to their place in the next line while the consonants do not
That is a needlessly high praise xD They are better than most and without them I would be clueless about EU politics. But they still have a long way to go.

But I don't know of many conventional news sources that publish sources or discuss their mistakes. To be honest I think the news media as a whole has a long way to come and tldr is ahead of the pack.
@bzuidgeest I can agree with you on all points. It would be hard for me to recommend anything because I watch documentaries (political as well) rather than news channels. I think Caspian Reports is on the same level. He used to make better work than tl;dr but publish less frequently. So it evens out. One more guy in Polish. So yeah the competition is pretty barren.

I always look forward to a TLDR video. I'm in Australia and it's refreshing to see a story that isn't reported on by some media organization peddling influence
I would love to watch an hour long video of "Zachary" speaking about his work, process, and reasoning. Those short interventions were like smelling a cake on my neighbor's windowsill.
As someone on the Right of the political spectrum I can honestly say I have detected little, if any, bias on TLDR. It's the reason I use TLDR almost exclusively for geopolitical news. Perfectly unbiased content is probably unrealistic, but in a world where supposedly "high quality" news is increasingly little more than biased clickbait, TLDR is a breath of fresh air. Frankly you could teach the big media companies a thing or two about how to approach news with as little bias as possible. Keep up the good work. I think you are all doing an amazing job!
The pronunciation especially. I keep telling people it's not THAT important and the consistent responses were "if you cant say the word perfectly then just dont say the words" (good luck referring to foreign cities, foods etc without saying their names, then) and "well I speak the language that word is from so it matters a LOT" (despite the video being in English and being targeted at English speakers). If people were as militant with pronunciation with other news YT channels, they'd be breaking down the doors of every American that keeps saying the capital of Russia as Moss-cow 🐄
Just want to mention that I'm really impressed with the quality of your videos, especially considering the size of your team and the frequency of your uploads! Keep up the awesome work
*If people think these guys clickbait then they haven't seen other content creators.* The algorithm is brutal. Case in point: Pyrocynical. He has a 2nd channel full of clickbait, daily drama and slop AND all the money goes into hiring artists to make animation and voice acting for the main channel which is _constantly_ running at a loss, because it goes against the algorithm. You can't win with UA-cam.
And even he stopped doing it. His main channel doesn't run at a loss eother because his team works on all his channels, not just his main one, meaning that there is an overall profit. The main channel clearly generates very high profits but is released too infrequently.

TLDR is one of the most impartial news channels. I gave up on trying to get a balance with the Guardian and the Daily Mail, they were too extreme and omitted so many facts to pamper their readers with ill-informed perspectives, worse, deliberate omissions, and no critical thinking. But it’s good to raise the critics’ comments, but don’t bend to a view of people who love to complain. Their opinions are feelings and not always reasoned thoughts.
You guys are amazing and doing wonderful and professional work. You put a lot of effort and deserve to be recognize for it. Well done, and I seriously hope you continue this channel for a long long time.
How do you view Ciolacu's and PSD's decision to withdraw from negotiations to form the future government? It would be exciting to hear an opinion from a Romanian. As I see it, Romania may be heading into the same crisis Bulgaria has been in for three years.
I appreciate your acknowledgement of the left leaning bias. That is very transparent and professional from you. I agree that individuals will have a position, and that is a fact, but keeping filters on reaction to facts seems a very good way of "trimming towards neutral"
One thing I will say about ads is that ad length DOES make a difference. The length of a video can be a rough indicator of how in-depth you go on a given topic. A much longer ad spot makes that a less accurate indicator. Granted, for someone like me who is going to watch them anyway, it doesn't matter THAT much. But it does feel a little bad when a video is shorter than expected because of an extra-long ad spot.
Yesterday they put out a 9 minute video. 6 minutes of content and 3 minutes of ad. It wasn’t because of sponsor read either. They were promoting their newspaper.
Been watching for a good couple years; just want to thank all of you for your contributions to informing all of us of current events, this level of transparency is what the future of news needs.
I want to say that TLDR is not really THAT biassed. Mostly the audience when reading the comments are overwhelmingly, but you at least try to not pander to them to much. It is really difficult to avoid audience capture - which is happening everywhere. TLDR at least tries and THAT is better than most others. As someone who is very far to the right on most issues, I still value your content a lot and appreciate the effort.
those who criticise TLDR of having a left wing bias only come out sometimes, but when they do they come in huge numbers, all with the same message. that makes you wonder if they are people at all or automated responses...
Thank god, we've been waiting for this one Edit: you do put adverts near the start and middle of the videos, in the form of your Too Long promotion segment.
I'm also from Yorkshire and sound like a posh Southerner, I always get people asking me "where are you really from" like no, I'm Sheffield born and bred (though now I live in Israel bruh)
Thank you for doing this, I love how open and honest you are about your reporting. In a world where it is very difficult to know which news is fake/providing half truths TLDR is genuinely my most trusted news sauce. I also regularly use ground news and have yet to see a topic where you only report on only either the typical left or rights news feed. Keep up the good work!

Also since it is run by such young people it seems more friendly to me as a young person myself than relying on 200 year old mainstream media brands with huge biases, and the TLDR project as a whole kind of shows that young people aren't lazy and unproductive like our grandparents sometimes tell us :D
I am 69 and do not criticise young people nor does anyone l know. I am pretty clapped myself so appreciate the energy of TLDR
Still no juggling on any TLDR channel. UNSUBSCRIBED!
Lmao, they should have juggling content!

Can confirm, Georgina is the best at pronunciations
The irony here for me is always that _no one_ seems able to proNOUNce "proNUNciation", not even Georgina, haha. More juggling is clearly needed.
georgina is the best host overall.
@@tru7hhimselfShe got slated when first introduced....
The way you guys wrap up the news to a brief and concise matter is amazing. Not all of us have the whole day to watch videos. I appreciate your work.
I’m rightish wing and I think yall do a very good job being neutral. I watch you regularly. I have no idea why people are complain about ads.
Seconded. I'm quite cautious when it comes to biased news, and TLDR has been one of the least biased news sources since the beginning.
I think their bias is very visible I don't think they're as great as you think
Maybe because the ads sometimes take a third of the video
@@PizeFish yeah? Do you have an example?
What's your most right wing view?
the ads are at the end of the video! don't listen to ppl's crap, you guys are doing great
I’ve just spent the last 20 minutes laughing in a cafe - cheers this was nice!
Wdym
@clashkingking6193 they spent the last 20 minutes laughing in a cafe
3:07 the commitment statement to removing typos having a typo is hilarious
Seriously though, amazing that you are so transparent with your work
I used to get annoyed by the "3 Reasons" thing, but now I find really funny and feel like it's part of the TLDR branding
I think it kinda is xD
The issue with the sources, it's a matter of putting it in the video itself, a little notification when you bring it up reminding that the source is in the description, just a little thing on the corner saying "source in description: footnote X" a lot of people won't ever open the description unless they're prompted to because it's usually where the legal copypasta is and nobody wants to read that.
Honestly, I have no complaints. My only issue is the daily briefings don't have any uplifting news, & the sponsors end up taking that space
yea, I miss uplifting news
Evening news on our commercial TV Nova are known to be structured: "Catastrophe, scandal, blood, blood, blood, cute animal, sport, weather."
I reckon the cute animal is always there if it's too laborious to find an uplifting story.
"You get the idea" is the best phrase to sum up and move on. Even I have started using it in my conversations. Please keep it.
But it's very daring - if they fail to explain a topic properly, you don't get the idea.
@@yurisei6732 That's just how youtube works. We always have that caveat in mind.
They definitely could've picked a worse phrase to use. Imagine if they're just hitting us with a "so yeah, moving on" instead.
Hey guys, I find your journalism the best in terms of accuracy, bias and deepness. I love your summaries and explanations, keep strong.
"Kudos for being so open to criticism. This will help you improve the channel in the future
I really like how one line transitions to the next, where the vowels in the first line move to their place in the next line while the consonants do not
love the transparency in the video and feedback. Love it, thank you
TLDR News is literally a paragon of journalism, all journalists should strive to be more like you all!
That is a needlessly high praise xD They are better than most and without them I would be clueless about EU politics. But they still have a long way to go.
@@xSkyWeixpresent me someone with the same limited resources and reach that does better.
Paragon might be a bit much.
Very funny. They were pretty good but quality has taken a nosedive the past 12 months.
lol no
Regarding "Three Reasons" . . .
Helmut von Moltke the Elder once said, "You will generally find the enemy has three courses of action open to him. He will inevitably choose the fourth."
I trust more this channel for news than the major ones. This Channel is transparent and expresses the key points of boths sides. Keep the good work up, and take positive feedback and not hateful feedback.
Then you're gonna love The Editorial... www.youtube.com/@TLDRpodcasts/videos
@@TLDRnewsGLOBAL Exactly what I was talking about, thank you. I had no idea that channel existed.
Half of these "criticisms" are just nitpicking and people finding stuff to whine about anyway.
@@escape209tell them to try and pronounce Asian names
Good accountability, team. Please keep doing this.
Support! One of the best news channel I’ve ever seen on UA-cam🙌🏻
Just want to mention that I'm really impressed with the quality of your videos, especially considering the size of your team and the frequency of your uploads! Keep up the awesome work
some of these criticism isn't even really criticism, they're just in a bad mood whining lmao
I had been longing for a source with a calming voice, that is informative and well researched. So grateful for your channel!
This is by far my most consistent news source and by far my favorite. Thanks for all your work and recognizing and trying to be neutrally biased.
Wow the lighting is SOOOO much better in this new studio. Big up!
"dont improve cause others are worse". The american "well we're not as bad as north korea"-argument. 0/10 shitty argument.
I assumed the money went into commissioning fatfur art of his OC
And even he stopped doing it. His main channel doesn't run at a loss eother because his team works on all his channels, not just his main one, meaning that there is an overall profit. The main channel clearly generates very high profits but is released too infrequently.
@@pvb3562you can work on improving and pointing out others are even shittier.
According to your argument you are never allowed to think you are doing well or at least better than others. That's a very crappy world view.
@@weightyarmamentsfellow the normies know, it's over xD
(to be fair if you know who to commission you can get full color digital paintings for less than $50 it's not _that_ expensive, when you commission a popular artist who charges 10x that, you're essentially paying for the brand)
The parts about being "monotonous and boring" really is too personal. I think you're doing a great job
Im very happy with the channel, have been since the pre Brexit days. Helps me be informed accurately. Well done :)
Y’all are great. This feedback video was so refreshing and getting to know the team behind the cameras was also a nice touch. Wishing you all success !
Im from romania, and funnily enough, i trust yall news reports more than our specific news chanells
Also the lack of juggling is unprecedented, you get the idea
How do you view Ciolacu's and PSD's decision to withdraw from negotiations to form the future government? It would be exciting to hear an opinion from a Romanian. As I see it, Romania may be heading into the same crisis Bulgaria has been in for three years.
If its not independendt (funded directly by the people) thenits just shitmedia sadly
Been watching sporadically for the past year and I'm glad about it
I appreciate your acknowledgement of the left leaning bias. That is very transparent and professional from you. I agree that individuals will have a position, and that is a fact, but keeping filters on reaction to facts seems a very good way of "trimming towards neutral"
I love this video ngl. That yall legit feel like actual people. I hope yall don't lose this spirit the more you guys grow
this channel is one of the best. Period
It's hilariously ironic that they keep saying 'pronounciations' rather than 'pronunciations' throughout the section about saying things correctly
I started watching you guys during the Brexit days. You have come a long way. Congratulations!
One of the reasons I’ve started to love your channel. This is great transparency
Appreciate a news agency that is able to accept criticism. Legacy media never apologizes or analyzes like this.
Thank god, we've been waiting for this one
Edit: you do put adverts near the start and middle of the videos, in the form of your Too Long promotion segment.
You guys do a wonderful job! Thank you for the objective news, your incredibly consistency, and fun little jokes! You guys rock!!
Amazing video. There are very few UA-cam channels that do videos like this. You are a bright exception on internet. Continue the hard job!!
Those who think TLDR is biased are simply hurt by facts. Too bad!
Love you guys!
I'm also from Yorkshire and sound like a posh Southerner, I always get people asking me "where are you really from" like no, I'm Sheffield born and bred (though now I live in Israel bruh)
These kind of videos are the types I love, it is like a mix of laughs and a real insight to how your journalism works
Thank you for doing this, I love how open and honest you are about your reporting. In a world where it is very difficult to know which news is fake/providing half truths TLDR is genuinely my most trusted news sauce. I rarely feel the need to second guess or do further research on your topics. I also regularly use ground news and have yet to see a topic where you only report on only either the typical left or rights news feed. Keep up the good work!
Well instantly my new critisism is you should give Nadja Lovadinov an on-screen job.
Have loved your videos for some time now! Def a long-term fan, keep up the amazing work!
Man I remember finding you guys in 2017, when Jack had no sm7b, and debating what audio equipment would work for your setup. It still boggles the mind that a few students can so much improve the standards of broadcast news with so little. Amazing job guys, don't take the ramblings online too seriously, you're doing amazing work
I live in the US (central midwest to be more specific). And I can honestly say I watch far more TLDR than I do of any US based news/media agency or even the BBC. I really appreciate your take on current world events and, while I don't agree with your news group on a number of opinionated issues, you have a very refreshing, effective, and well rounded delivery. Thank you and please keep up the good work.
