Just found your channel. We're in Missouri as well. We grow onions from plant starts and have a few from seed this year. My husband's got a beard just about like yours/your husband's. ( Depending on who reads the comments.)

Hey, we are glad you are here! It's always great to hear from other Missouri folks. Do you all have a tilled garden or raised beds? Or both like us lol

@@ASimpleLifewithChrisTara right now we have mostly in ground. I had this idea with our raised beds to create a monogrammed raised bed garden space. An H is an easy one to do. But our ground is very unlevel so we haven't gotten that done yet. We're close though. I technically have gardens because I like to break the garden plots up and spread them out a bit. We've done regular rectangular gardens before but for some reason is seems like work with those. I like the interest of irregular shaped gardens with trellising and flowers mixed in and everything interplanted experimentally. I love gardening. I completely geek out over it. I don't know about your property, but ours here is rocky. We grow rocks better than anything else.

@Elizabeth Henson love love love your vision 😍 BEAUTIFUL
You all must be south central or southwestern with all the rocks. We are south east MO

Yes. We are in Laclede County. I don't think that I have spent very much time in southeast Missouri apart from just driving through. In the garden spots we have tons of clay rocks and we have a lot of sandstone. Sandstone boulders and areas where the rock tops are slightly above ground level but you know they're super expansive. Like several feet across. Makes it hard to put fencing in. We also have a sinkhole in our property pretty close to our house. It has been slowly sinking for years. It's surrounded by huge boulders. Kind of scary but it's actually beautiful. Not very useful area though unfortunately. I noticed on your onion planting I didn't see hardly any rocks in your soil.

Wow, you really do have a rock problem, my goodness. ....and a sink hole??? Oh...my...that would scare me as well. There have been some of those around here as well..(not our home but in different cities close by) We have a lot of clay in different areas, but no rocks.
