- World of Tanks, a game that has been around for more than a decade, continues to age despite its loyal player base. Many of us have reached the point where we feel like we have exhausted all the possibilities and there is nothing new to discover. The game has become monotonous, like navigating through a dense fog of darkness. However, I am here today to share with you my personal journey of keeping the game interesting and enjoyable. It all comes down to finding a purpose, just like in life. By immersing ourselves in the right mindset, any game or activity can become truly captivating and rewarding.

I think that most players have simply accepted the fact that this game pretty much won’t ever be able to recover from the damage that 6.0 and Cold War have caused over the last 3-4 years and are simply riding it out until the game inevitably goes under completely.
That’s what I’m doing. I have just over 9 1/2 years now and I’m having less fun playing this game than I’ve ever had. The game has lost its core of original, experienced players which have now been replaced by a revolving door of temporary noobs and wallet warriors which stick with the game for maybe about 6-7 months, get bored, and quit. And then new noobs take their places. It’s a never-ending cycle that may be impossible to break now.
The game is no longer keeping players and is still losing players more than it’s gaining. I honestly believe that no matter what the Devs do to fix the game from here on out, the damage that has been caused is just irreversible at this point.
I think this may be my last year with the game - I’ll give it until Christmas and see what happens. But as it stands, my time with WoT Console is reaching its closure.
When ever I play for any period of time, I’m always getting matched with the same players in the same tanks over and over. Even the maps like to repeat
I don't think many of the recent players know what was before 6.0 and what is now. I am 7 years in, and I don't dwell too much on it. What I miss of the older ways has nothing to do with the architecture of the game itself.
I loved to listen to the blabble during the battles. Sometimes heavy metal music played loud, some other times harsh language.
However, the biggest let down did not come from War Gaming, but from Sony. On Playstation we had a feature called "Community". This gave you the opportunity to join any player worldwide without needing to be in any specific clan or chat program.
You just filtered to World of Tanks, and you had a list of joinable people. This was gold!
why did Sony removed this, I just don't understand. Through that feature, I met so many different players from so many different countries. None of today's social media gave that much freedom. I don't want to make an effort to find someone to platoon with. I don't want to join discord. I don't want to ask anyone for their gaming tag.
Whenever I felt like it, I could join a German platoon, or a Chinese, or Japanese....
I played in year 1 and put the game down for other games….picked it back up 6 months ago just to play with my father since his friends sort of dropped the game after grinding 10 years. He has way more fun when playing with me, so that’s fun in itself
10 years on.. I play Era 2 and 3 and it's def not boring...frustrating but not as bad as watching paint dry in Tier 10 while arty crushes souls

I lost internest😊 in pubs long ago. Imo it's 1v29 and it's less about winning and more about big numbers. That's why when I started comp I never looked back. I just found a old school ensk video of you with nightmare scriming me. It's those memories I hold close and personally in ten years I won't remember my wn8 or marks but more the relationships I now have. Glad me met and this weekend will be a blast!

I've always maintained that the game is for each player to find their enjoyment in. Play how you want, play what you want, play tanks you're good at. find something in the game you like to do. I don't play continuously for the last 5 years, I take long breaks and do other things to avoid burnout, sometimes as long as 6 months or more. right now I'm back and playing, and enjoying lots of games, win lose or draw. The game has changed, it has ALWAYS changed, from the outset. It has to change, to keep reinventing itself or it WOULD have become old, jaded and died by now. Sure many players don't like the changes, you can't please everyone and WG isn't going to try.
Players should stop whining about what was, and enjoy the game for what you can make of it.

I've played both -- for several years -- I'm not much of a pilot and getting bombed out of existence in WT feels much worse that that artillery smack down in WOT. Both are fun though - for me -- for WT -- invest in some bushes for your favorite tank >> really helps when you are playing realistic. Hope you have a great day.
I keep myself entertained by grinding for contracts and playing trash tanks extremely well.
Plus, I occasionally load speed builds on heavy tanks and turn them into fat scouts. I got my T34 up to 42 kph and it really helped me reach key positions faster. Most of the time, claiming the ridge is worth the small sacrifice in reload speed.
Nobody expects a T34 to be going 42 kph

@@CloneGuy I just wish a literal setting option didn’t hog the 4th equipment slot. Enhanced target info is literally asking whether you want to have a full HUD or not. It shouldn’t be an equipment choice.
I loved your flag on the tiger II. I play much less now because of one simple reason. WG made the majority of the battle less then 5 mins, And that is very unchallenging for me and not motivates me to play. After 10 years of tanking, maybe it’s time to move on.

I’ve just been hanging around at the mid tiers 3 marking tanks. The games are more interesting down there and provide a rewarding experience for the most part. Also been swapping between euro and na server at times to avoid playing the same players all the time. Come to the euro server clone,il toon with you bud. Bomber out 👌
Sad reality that nothing interesting has happened. Played for 5 years. My issue was lack of teamwork. Only so much you can do solo especially if you’re xp grinding. Still fun to watch others play though.
If they could at least fix the tier system that would be game changing nothing sucks more than a stock tank going against 2 tiers it’s grade or make match making faster 80+ in que and waiting 1+ min come on
I wish they did that rather than splitting the matchmaking by introducing Cold War. +1/-1 would have been the best change.
Been playing since the 360 days and still playing but its in cycle sometime i dont play video game for 5 month and the i comeback for a while but Wot will always be in my rotation
It is sad to see that this game is being dominated by high alpha great camo tanks. Miss the days of mediums like the Obj 140 and the like. A game can be over in minutes if people are yoloing into these big guns
When i get bored i just play Meme tanks not really try harding just rolling around derping people with a sturmtiger or something it can get pretty funny
Clone, I think you hit on a big thing with your comments on the meta. Games are supposed to be fun. One thing that killed Fortnite was prioritizing competition over fun. Fun sells, but competitive players always moan about things until they get what they want until they get it and realize it's no fun. Here's some things we all complained about and got removed that were fun. These are the things that make a game fun and unique. Arty killing TDs from across the map, derpy TDs will high DPM but poor accuracy, legions of IV/Vs steam rolling across the map and ramming tanks, yoloing slow TDs, true vision and seeing someone across the map, being stealthy enough to sneak to the other side of tha map and kill both pigs, grinding crap tanks not against tanks with 3000+ dpm. These great things are gone. I want to have fun, like you suggest, but right now the other team sits at there base pops out from a rock and does 1000 damage in one shot. That meta doesn't make for a game where most tanks can be mobile. A big change needs to be made like cutting the radio range in half, if this game is going to survive. Love the content and that last shot was a thing of beauty.

When you reach an understanding of "Pascal's wager" through playing WoT
they just need to change the spotting crap, the render distance used to be the limitation, with modern technology we dont need that crap, you should be able to see a tank, its a fkin tank... you usually end up on a team thats setup to win or lose, the matchmaking has always been questionable. No matter how good you get it feels like you are playing with people who have never played the game before.
Unfortunately, doing UA-cam for a while and reading countless comments, there are so many players incredibly ignorant and refuse to believe that players are better than them rather than learning how to play. It frustrates me because it’s not just new wallet warriors we have to deal with.

Back in the very beginning, up till 3 years in. I played with friends, and one by one they dropped off. From 3 years to over 10 now, ive played alone. I played battle tanx global assault on ps1 growing up, so wot is the closest thing i have to it now. Name another tank game like either thats polished, and played easy unlike war thunder tanks where theres too much detail.

Exactly -- I've been taking on almost every contract I can -- gets me focused on trying to do specific things with a subset of the tanks I've got in the garage >> except the Tusk - I've let that chalice pass me by this time... I do think I take a run at the Machine the next time it comes up in the rotation.
If there’s more then 0 arty, open map, playing something slow there’s a more then likely chance I leave the game before 3 minutes
ALSO WHEN I DO PLAY W.O.T I AVOID WW2 MODE BECAUSE IT HAS INVISIBLE TANKS (SPOTTING MECHANIC)
BECAUSE OF THAT ONLY PLAY COLD WAR MODE

I've been having fun with tanks ever since my competitive return to the game. To me, surrounding yourself with positivity and people who enjoy the game make the game so much more refreshing and relaxing to play now. Yes, the game isn't what it once was, but if there was one I would like to see, it is redo the consumables to how they used to look. Secondly, make the crews to where it is on pc having to slot crews in based on position for commander, loader, gunner, spotter, and so on. I think that would be a great addition to the game, in my opinion.
All good ideas. Since PC is still growing, you would think they would copy their examples.
But there you would be wrong my friend.

I’ll admit I don’t try a lot of new things in the game because I’m trying to maintain a higher WN8.
I keep taking a year off, then play for a couple months and quit again. The grind is unreasonable now so I play mostly just tier 8 or era 1 and 2.
Might be in the minority here but, man i miss the old sounds, some of them sounded like a f*ckin nuke went off and was the coolest thing ever as a new player

Since tanks like the AVRE, and WG grasping for every dollar they can get by selling OP tier 10s, they are KILLING the game. Ive been playing for 9 years (2 on pc, on Console) and i keep myself entertained by grinding out all the tanks i dont have, or grinding out marks of excellence, and contracts, and even the tank ops. I even started a new account on my PS4.
Starting a new account is often fun.
I get that you are trying to promote the game by telling people to learn to play better, and then they can better affect the outcome of their games. Unfortunately, I don't believe what you are saying is realistic at all.
I work 7am to 5pm, I only get to play at peak times during the week. I play the M50 and push the thing right up the enemy's nose and spot 8 enemies, and get zero spotting damage because my team of delinquents is too busy racing a lap of the map.
I play strategically and choose my targets well and get 8k damage only to be overrun by 9 enemies because my team died in 4 minutes.
Or i push forward to spot and my team is wolf pack racing and leave the base undefended, and it gets capped in 3 minutes with 10 players left on each team.
Most times, there is nothing one person can do to affect the outcome of the game. There is nothing you can do against 3 light tanks shooting missiles at you. There is nothing you can do when you poke your head over a ridge in a FV4211 with full health, and get ammo racked by a bmp2 in the first minute of the game.
Or grinding a Marder in Era3, and every single heavy tank on there is faster than you, you can't even run away from them when they flank you. they literally ram you to death.
When the go-to method of killing someone is ramming them with your tank, you know there is something wrong with the game.
I really try to have fun by doing different things, but it doesn't last long before I get disappointed or irritated.

ON console i know not really possible but seems like game rigging. But one sided matches 12 to 0 at the end
aim lock on. It takes no skill anything above level 6 should not have aim lock.
Gold rounds or i should say silver now. Go back to making ppl pay actual gold for premium rounds so they dont spam them.
Tier 8 tanks need reworked so many of them have to go against 10s and they cant even pen half the team!
