The Chinaga Betta trek is one of the most beautiful treks near Tumkur and Bangalore. It is located near Swandenahalli Village in Devarayana Durga Forest, approximately 15 kilometres from Tumkur City, and is surrounded by Devarayanadurga Hills, Pandavara Betta, and many other unnamed hillocks. Trekking to Chinaga Betta / Chinagar Betta requires Forest Department permission.
The trek begins at the beautiful Ranganathaswamy Temple, which is located on the mountain's foothills. There is a lovely forest walk at the beginning, which gradually becomes steeper. The trail is surrounded by trees, grass, and rocks on a steep slope. Following this slope, we arrive at the vast midway Plateau, which is ideal for relaxing and taking in the scenery. This plateau also has small ponds during the monsoon and post-monsoon seasons. The peak is visible from this plateau.
Before the summit, there is a dense forest cover, and the trail passes through it to reach the final steep rock that must be climbed. There are some steps carved into the rock for hand and footholds, making the climb a little easier. We do not recommend climbing it if it is raining or the rock is wet.

Note: Please keep in mind that we must cross the lake to get to the starting point. When it rains heavily, the lake overflows and the road becomes impassable.
