The Bible says earnestly desire the gifts of the Spirit. 1 Corinthians 14, I think you can start by reading that chapter asking GOD for understanding and HE will search your heart and vet why you desire that ability and if your desire is earnest and pure, HE will help you and grant you your request, but don't stop asking, GOD is faithful.
Read books like Holy spirit my senior partner, Good morning Holy spirit and some from Kenneth Haggin. They will help you to open you up and desire so much to speak in tongues and you'll have it .
If you pray in Tongues for 20hours daily with Unforgiveness in your heart, hatred, bitterness, anger, jealousy greed, and in a sinful life style, You just engaged in physical exercise. NO RESULT because you just wasted your precious time. This generation speak in tongues too much yet they do not WORK IN THE POWER OF THE HOLY GHOST. Also the fruits of the Holy Spirit ( Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, self control) are also not really present. Too much speaking in Tongues yet evil is multiplying in the land, the power of GOD is hardly seen in the churches today. Let us balance everything or else, it will be all speaking with no result.
Speaking in tongues for long hours persistently will help a Christian over unforgiveness, hatred, anger, jealousy, greed and a sinful lifestyle. As we genuinely seek God by praying persistently in tongues the fire of his presence burns off the chaff in our lives. In fact, the purpose of prayer is to overcome the sins we wrestle with. Apostle Osayi do you mean pray for 10 hours daily straight or 5 hours in the day and 5 at night for 2 weeks or 10 hours once every 2 weeks for 4 months.
Watch the video with your heart so that you will understand what Apostle is saying. Don't watch with your brain. The capacity of the brain can't comprehend such words spoke by the Apostle.

I understood 10hr in one day. For example, you could do 9pm-7am. That's not much given that a day has 24 hrs. 2 weeks have 336 hrs. So in essence, you are giving God only 12 hrs out of 366 hours. So I believe it is also wise to pray at least 1hr daily on other days.
By the way does this mean praying for 10 hrs non stop or one can pray for an hour then read the Bible and mediate and go back to prayer. Please I need an answer 🙏🏾🙏🏾

Obviously he did nto pray that prayer bc it say forgive us our trespasses. He had no trespases to forgive. I was angry, and hated tongues and saw anyone who spoke in tongues as fake tongues. I told him NO, if a gift, I will wait. But because of that experience and my judgemental nature of condemning both the real and fake tongue, Holy Spirit couldn't flow through me in tongues. I detested tongues because a Pastor that should know better said he was going to teach me how to pray in tongues. Imagine !!☹️
Till 2016 ending, when it dawned on me that I was short changing myself. I freed myself from this hatred towards tongues and repented from my mindset that tongues are fake,, because of this false Pastor friend. Since then, I ran with it and do average 3 to 6 hours daily and I see the favor, have entered the REST Isaiah 28 11-12. Things happen in my life that I didn't remember praying about in my understanding. But God the HolyGhost obviously prayed it on my behalf to God the Father with Big Bros Jesus Christ at his right hand interceding for us. When God prays back to God its equals to ANSWERRED PRAYERS.

@Iniobong Enyieokpon, every born again Christian that has received the Holy Spirit ought to speak in tongues, so if you haven't received the Holy Spirit you can do that by asking in Jesus name and open your mouth and speak in tongues Or get someone filled with the Holy Spirit to impact you and you can speak in tongues.

He meant 10hours at a stretch once every two weeks, aside normal prayer time.
He means 10 hours a day for 2 weeks.
Maybe 5 in the day and 5 at night or after every 1 hour, pray one hour. Sleep for the remaining 4 hours.

I understood 10hr in one day. For example, you could do 9pm-7am. That's not much given that a day has 24 hrs. 2 weeks have 336 hrs. So in essence, you are giving God only 12 hrs out of 366 hours. So I believe it is also wise to pray at least 1hr daily on other days.

Do you mean that if I pick one day out of 14 days ( 2 weeks ) and pray for 10 hours non- stop? Or shall I pray for an hour ever day for 5 days in a week . Since it becomes 10 hours in two weeks time .
10 hours straight two times a month. In other videos he said you can pray few hours and build up until u have the capacity to pray 10hrs straight.

I prayed like this for three years and did the work of the minsitry, and read the bible from cover to cover 3 times.
