    whats your thoughts on purchasing a used para glider? and if a para glider is stored correctly, what does the age of a para glider have to do with flying it? also one more question, have you flown with a glider with a motor, and if so does that make the glider any safer in flight? really appreciate what you guys are doing.

      1. Motor paraglider= very different, you can say it is another sport (motor you use when no thermals and no winds, freefly the opposite.
      Used glider, definitely the way to go for the beginer when you train on the ground. Later it depends on your style, if you do soaring there is no problem with older glider, when thermaling i thing no so old glider is needed. Generaly it is not only about worse cloth, but 10 year old glider even in pristine condition is like 3 generation old, newer generation is much more safer. You can say 3-4 years gliders are generaly fine (depends on a lot of things)

      @@osmera_pg just doing a little research on wings, and watching a aspen 4 on Ebay which is rated at EN C, which i am not sure is a great rating?

      @osmera_pg 5 років тому +1

      @@13orangeleaf EN-C rating means it is not for you. For beginer there are EN-A wing, maximum low EN-B. This rating is about safety and for first years it is the most important thing for you (in some countriest you are even not alowed to fly en-c wing with the regular pilot license).
      Forgot aspen and go for EN-A wing, you can always sell it later and buy some en-b after some hundreds flying hours.

      @@osmera_pg yes, you are right, i will set my sights on a wing rated EN-A. i am sure that i will have much more fun with a safe wing. experience and knowledge of how the wing performs in different conditions, and how to handle the wing on the ground is on my mind.i am glad that i am now aware of the ratings, there are probably many other things that i will discover as well. one thing that i never gave a thought to,is insurance. was reading pilots share information about this particular wing, and they were saying that it was hard to get insurance for a wing with this rating, i am sure it will be hard for a para glider pilot to get insurance in any event.thanks for your reply,i really appreciate it.
