They are making a prequel series about Robert's Rebellion. But I would want to see Aegon Targaryen (The Conqueror) and his unification of Westoros. But still excited that we're getting more GoT after season 8

Azazel Aegon's Conquest? That would make for a very quick series.. Maybe a sort of anthology series with a season to cover each important event such as Doom of Valyria, the Original Long Night, Aegon's Conquest, the Blackfyre Rebellion, and Robert's Rebellion

Rhaegar is by far my favorite character because he's so important yet never seen. I guess with Season 7's finale we know that him and Lyanna did in fact love each other, perhaps it just makes the "destiny" aspect more fitting for Rhaegar to have the savior child with the woman he loved not just for beauty but for strength and kindness. Would assume such a prophetic child would have the goodness of his parents and the love they both put into bringing him into the world.

andai it is useless to look for logic in the show, but okay then, name one good thing besides giving money to an orphanage that he did based on what we know from the show? If he was all so noble then why not influence the small council to get out more from taxes for orphanages? Seems he cared more to _look_ like he's doing stg good, than to actually do good

I just noticed that if Rhaegar and Daenerys were closer in age, Aerys would’ve probably made them marry and have kids.
I think it would be more likely he would force Daenerys to marry Viserys instead since Rhaegar was already married.
Basically he was a kind, giving and loving person. He was a talented singer and an excellent skilled fighter. His one fault was falling in love with a woman who wasn’t his wife thus starting a war that caused his untimely death and the demise of his entire family....your welcome for the short version 😂

A couple of families in ASOIAF like the Starks, Blackwoods and Targaryens have magical abilities like shapeshifting and prothetic dreams and even looking into the future. The Targaryens have the blood of the Blackwoods (who may be related to the Starks) through Aegon V's wife Betha Blackwood. Rhaegar might have been able to use this magic and prothethic dreams or insight into the future and they were the reason for his actions.

Great video! I'm really enjoying this channel.
Rhaegar feels like a main character in his own TV show, and then suddenly the actor dies in a car crash and the studio has to move on. Its like everything after Rhaegar’s death only exists in his shadow.
I like to believe that Rhaegar did indeed want to fulfill the prophecy in the beginning, but would eventually put that aside for a chance at love. When you really think about it, Rhaegar had a bad relationship with his father, maybe an okay one with his mother and a neutral one with this brother. Aside from his friends like Sir Arthur Dayne and Barristan Selmy, that's about it. Even his relationship with Elia is hinted to be one of friendship at best. So for him to fall in love with Lyanna would be a good story-arc of seeing him have a change of hurt, where instead of marrying Lyanna to fulfill a prophecy, he marries her for love. It would be a good character development for him.
If they do a Robert's Rebellion prequel series, I really hope they do the character justice. I want to see him brought to life on the screen.

GRRM makes all his characters so layered and interesting. Even the ones we never meet like Ashara Dayne, Howland Reed and Rhaeghar.
Well in the books we have this character Aegon who claims to be the son of Rhaegar and Elia. He has already landed in Westeros with a powerful army.
But he really is their son? Because I heard aegon could be a blackfire.
Tywin said at the Defiance at Duskendale, in front of many people that he didn't care if the rebels (who had Aerys II, Rhaegar's dad) released Aerys II, and proceeded to say that a much better king was waiting, with his actions motioning to Rhaegar.
Rhaegar was the amn of prophecy. Aemon targeryean knows the prophecy too. So both these targeryeas men were trying to figure out the prophecy in their own way. Show didn't described who is eventually the prince who is promised or who is the light bringer but let's hope that books do take care of this.
We need a prequel on game of thrones and more details rhaegar story. Even though end was not good we need prequel ❤️

I mean, tbh, that's pretty standard ages for pairings in ASOIAF. Nothing unusual about it and no one in-universe would bat an eye at it.
This age difference is normal in Westeros when it comes to relationships. Daenarys was 13 when she married Drogo who was just under 30, Lysa Tully married when she was 17 with Jon Arryn who was 58. And Sansa married at age 12 with Tyrion who was 24. Welcome to ASOIF world!

What I mean is, in Westeros a girl is already a woman after she bleeding for the first time, don't matter if she was 12, 14, or 17 and as you said, Lyanna wasn't like other ladies. She was fearless and independent, which leads me to believe she was more mature than other girls at her age. Then, in the matter of age, there is nothing unusual in Lyanna and Rhaegar's relationship, in Westeros standards.
She wasn't 14. She was 16, which is the age of majority in Westeros. She was born in 266 and died in 283, which is 17 years, which means she was pregnant at 16, not 14.
The laughing tree knight theory is great. That would be a great flashback scene in the show.

King David won against Goliath, he was also know for his skill of war, and he actually wrote most of the psalms that are still sung and played in churches all over the world! Something I always find myself wondering about is how Lyanna reacted to the death of her father and Brandon if she really did love Rhaegar when she left with him and set the whole land to war did she still love him when she heard his father had roasted her's alive and laughed while her brother strangled himself to death trying to save him.

Prince that was promised, if all 3 heads of the dragon, and based on where the show and last dragon is, is likely Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, and the Night King. The Night King could actually be the 1st prince that was promised. It will be interesting to see the whole story revealed next year and then the book story revealed a few years later!

Not to offend anyone but it just struck me Rhaegar Targaryen's personality description quite matches that of Prince Arjun of Mahabharat. I mean these brooding tragic heroes are pretty common in all epics. If I remember correctly even Arjun had a lingering sadness over his face. Only that he was as dark as the night and Rhaegar is pale white.
Props to the creators of all those pieces. If nothing else, Rhaegar was clearly a muse.

I honestly never really liked Rhaegar. He is just too perfect in every way yet an incredibly selfish fool who together with Lyanna Caused the deaths of Thousands. Even treating his actual wife with minimum respect not even concerned about his own children.

I was having a shower and I got this thought, what if Jaqen H'ghar is actually Rhaegar. When Rhaegar supposedly died he was at the battle of the Trident, Leanna was far away from that. Rhaegar died before Jon was born so he wouldn't know the gender of his and Leanna's child. Which explains why he is so fascinated with Arya, he thinks she is his kid. Rhaegar believed his kids were going to be Azor Ahai, so he trained up Arya to become an amazing assassin. There was a scene in the show when Dany was talking to one of Rhaegars guards, the guard said he hated killing instead he liked singing. What if Rhaegar was associated with the Faceless men and someone else was actually fighting.

Raeghar son´s with the Martell girl didnt die in the books, he was saved for a friend of Raeghar.
But it isn't confirmed that he's Rhaegar son. Just because he claims to be, doesn't mean he is.
Jon Snow's real father is Sir Arthur Dayne and Little Finger witnessed the secret love affair as a child! The whole war was a misunderstanding...and maybe because of little finger's lie about Rhaegar kidnaping & raping Lyanna

So sorry to burst people's bubbles but even in the show, Jon would still be considered a bastard, just so happens he's not Ned's. No one in relevant society would accept Elia's annulment, the marriage had been consummated, and elia had given Rhaegar an heir and (technically) a spare/queen.
With her marriage NOT annulled, Lyanna's would never be relevant, aka, the baby from that union = a bastard.
If you take the 2 wives route.... only Aegon (the OG) successfully accomplished that (and only for so long before issues of 2 queens started after his death), and Maegor even wasn't able to practice it without wars every 2-3 business days (even with dragons). Jaehaerys secured incest, but even he couldn't touch the topic of polygamy. Rhaegar has neither the conqueror's respect, nor dragons, nevermind common sense.
Lyanna would remain a mistress. And her safety wouldn't be assured cuz, guess what, she's managed to piss off the baratheons, the family known for being stubborn and good with poison (and having a bad history with offsprings of high born mistresses), the insane king, as well as her own family, cuz (assuming he's still alive), her father would be mad abt her running off, nvm the shame of having your daughter be broadcasted as a mistress when she had a huge betrothal waiting for her (spoiling the stark-tully-baratheon-arryn alliance). She and her baby are completely defenseless.
And Jon being legitimised (if he wasn't assassinated in the crib) would also face opposition. There's literally no way Rhaegar's plan would've worked without huge conflicts. Nvm the moral bankruptcy.

He was 30 and abandoned his sickly wife, newborn and toddler in the hands of his hateful, racist (when Rhaegar and Elia's daughter was brought to court to be introduced to her grandfather, he refused to hold her because she 'smelled Dornish'), insane father to run away with a 15 year old girl. Even if Lyanna went willingly, you can't argue that she had much of a choice. The man was twice her age, the crown prince and had two king's guards knights. She couldn't have refused to go with him if she'd wanted. The white washing of Rhaegar's character is the single most frustrating thing the show has done yet...

If she did not want Rhaegar, she would not have went with him. He's supposed to look like Viserys. Or, more specifically, Viserys looks a lot like Rhaegar. We're told that in the books.
What about Agon! there are rumours that he was not actually killed since he was only a baby at the time of the rebellion and Jon Connington (hand of the king) took him away Varys was supposed to have helped him do this.
I did think Tyrion was maybe a Targeryen and his his farther was the mad king since there's another rumour that he was sleeping with Tywin's wife and could be the reason she is dead because Tywin killed her and said she died in childbirth to cover up the murder!
But not all of Rhaegar's children died. In the books Rhaegar's son, Aegon Targaryen survived with the help of Varys, who took care of him, and Lord Jon Connington, a friend of Rhaegar. Aegon plans to marry his aunt Daenerys and invade Westeros claiming the throne.
