If our democracy survives this MAGA coup plot, there are several reforms that will need to happen. One major one should be to enable lawyers for the defense and prosecution the ability to pick between several judges and then appoint ones that both sides approve of to avoid any suspicion of favoritism and/or corruption. All of the trials should have been completed already, with undisputed outcomes, had this been in place. Perhaps there should also be pools of prosecutors too.
I'll agree 'judge shopping' is a Small problem, as usually those judges are often overturned on appeal...all sides cry when verdicts don't go their way...we are stuck with this because the law is argued all the time...every day...a smart, good lawyer can make murder sound legal, a dumb, bad lawyer will get you 20 years for jaywalking...the rub is richer folks can afford the better lawyers ALL the time, whereas a poor person will suffer inadequate legal advice, the one exception being when that poor person is actually innocent...it may take a while, even a long while, but the truth always comes out in the end...

If the law itself is unfair, that requires legislative action that can't be dumped on judges. Also, you will never get perfection, but we can't let that get in the way of better.

These news casters/commentators keep discussing Trump's many crimes, unethical behavior and shortcomings. In this instance, Joy Reid is clearly indignant. These news casters/commentators keep discussing Trump's many crimes, unethical behavior and shortcomings. In this instance, Joy Reid is clearly indignant. They spend so much time and energy on discussing Trump, but I haven't heard any of them discuss possible reasons Trump is seemingly being favored in the courts such as bias, corruption, incompetence, fear. I am so tired of hearing all these people talk and talk while dancing around difficult issues.

No chance of a pardon. He should go to "jail" although most likely a special building within an army base (they did that with one of Nixon's top people). However, I think if he loses he will try to incite an uprising and when that fails he will try to flee the country.
