I go back and forth between the two versions in terms of preference. As an English speaker who knows little of Japanese language, the english ver. has its advantages, and has some strong lyrics, but the Japanese version kinda flows better in certain parts for me, such as "Kimi no senaka ni okuru yo...Tsubasa ni kaete" is more pleasing than "I Know That Reaching you...Suspended on Silver Wings"
way more emotion on Japanese song, you can feel it vs English version, plus Japanese is the ORIGINAL version and you can see that it's in sync with the character singing.
The English version is absolutely beautiful, But the Japanese version has infinitely more emotion. You hear the softness in the voice in the beginning, but it gradually swells until you feel your heart is going to burst from the sorrow in her voice. You can't help but start to cry. I started to sob when they were shot. The beauty of this song cannot be lost on any soul.
Dispute opinion, 13 years ago poster. Both versions are awesome. I like that in the English version they outright were willing to re-animate the sequence to accompany the differences too. That takes serious dedication. Compare to basically any other attempt to localize a song, and they went above and beyond. The English version is incredible too.
@@SephirothRyu i love that you at least acknowledged the comment you were responding to was made over a decade ago. Hey, maybe the poster appreciates the english one by now!
I love the timing of the lyrics. Good job putting romaji above it as well. More lyrics FMV please. 🤗 And I also suggest an English translation below if possible for japanese songs. More power
I hate how it got changed so much for the english version - they should have just left it like they did suteki da ne in the original for X. Anyways, I blather. I love the timing of the lyrics and how you put the hiragana/katakana in. Thank you for putting this up :)
I need to find a better version or listen to this on better speakers. I want to love this but IDK, it just feels held back a bit. I do enjoy how the JP vocalist sings at lower range than the ENG one. Both are awesome.
Both versions are amazing. Both versions are also by Koda Kumi as well, I think. I could be wrong. Like Utada Hikaru with all of the English and Japanese versions of the Kingdom Hearts songs. Anyway, this song is beautiful, no matter what language you sing it in. And try not to bash the English version so hard though. Some of you are acting like 4-Kids wrote this english version lol xD.
I love Koda Kumi but I have to say this is the one time, ever, when the English version performance/lyrics/animation is genuinely better than the original Japanese version. LALALA? Really? The song loses its momentum every time she sings that. They couldn't think of lyrics to go in between? In the English version, Yuna and Lenne were singing side by side. Waaay more powerful as a scene than this one.
The English chorus much stronger and much better without a doubt and what's with la la la ?? Lol I think the japanese voice in 1000 words sounds so lame and like she sings like she just woke up and voice is weird period
you can hear Koda Kumi singing with soul, that deep gentle voice knows how to sing her heart out with this ballad! 😍
I like this version too, but "They'll hold you forever" sounds a bit more epic than "lalalala" :D

I like this version so nostalgic and more emotion

@@templeofhyrule9240 Nope Japanese version is way better than English, it's always been that way, the emotion you can feel is much stronger.
@@illidanisdead6924 That is actually what I said if you reread it, I agree that the Japanese version is better

wow,this vid is sooo awsum!
so good
This version is better... I have no clue why they just had to pop this song up in the english version. It's a ballad, not a Pop song >
you are so right
they made a pop song out of the english version :/

Have a feeling I saw Jade from sweet box doing the english version for ffx2?
@narutolover7777 yep
i love the japanese version except for the "lalala" and the voice doesnt fit Yuna very well :/ just saying, other than that i love it XD
OMG!!! 0 DISLIKES!!!
FINALLY PEOPLE ARE GETTING SMART

very good =] you coulda done it better by adding english in as well lol
i like english version because is more powerful with 2 voices
The english version is much better. Much.
The english CHORUS is bette but...
kinda kyrstalblader. Lenne is supposedly Yuna's great geat something-or-other...something along those lines. same goes for shuyin and Tidus.

I don't understand that lalala part either.
